This newly refurbished (2014) & re modeled (June 2009) 2 bedroom air conditioned apartment is set in the award winning Capistrano Playa complex & overlooks the blue flag Burianna Beach. The centre of Nerja with its old town & many restaurants is within walking distance, or accessed by a regular bus that stops at the complex or by taxi.

Patio doors from both the main bedroom & lounge provide access to 2 linked terraces, one of which is partially covered. There are spectacular views over Burianna beach with its many restaurants & bars which are a few minutes walk away down through tropical gardens.

Inside there are 2 bedrooms: 1 double & 1 twin.the apartment is fully air conditioned and additionaly both bedrooms and lounge area have ceiling fans. The new modern fully equipped kitchen has granite worktops, oven, microwave & dishwasher and is fully equipped for those wishing to have a self catering holiday. The remodelled bathroom houses washing machine, separate bath & shower. Living/dining area contains a 42 ' LCD TV with ITV BBC SKY and various European language channels provided over IP TV.There is also a CD, DVD players as well as I Pod Doc. There is a free key operated safe.

The two separate but linked terraces are set up with a dining table and chairs located with the built in BBQ on one terrace, and two sun loungers and large umbrella on the other.

The complex has 2 pools & toddler pool, umbrellas & sun beds (small extra charge payable at the bar) and also a kiosk serving lunchtime snacks and drinks

There is a purpose built BBQ on one of the terraces for fantastic all year round

al fresco dining.

Wi Fi is available at the property, and is provided free of charge.

Capistrano playa is located in a unique location above Burriana beach providing not only outstanding views of the beach and sea, but also easy access to a great choice of beachside dining.I believe that this particular combination is unique in Nerja, and would be hard to beat.

Patio sliding doors open on to a sea facing terrace. The second bedroom with a cooler aspect contains two single beds and is located at the rear of the property.Each bed has a bedside table and one has a digital alarm clock.There are double fitted wardrobes and a deep chest of drawers. The air conditioned living room has three seater sofa bed that opens up into a good sizes double bed.

Notes:
Access fom the road to the apartment is vis a lift to the lower level.From that point here are a few steps down to the apartment. Access to the beach through the walk down through the tropical gardens involves quite a few small runs of steps.This may make beach access for some with mobility issues difficult.There is beach access via a small road just outside the complex. This would require a car as it is a steep hill.This road is one way and can only be driven up from the beach. There is generally no problem in parking within the complex , and there is covered parking available as well on a first come first serve basis in the underground car park below the pool. There is a local bus service that runs to Town from just outside the complex and goes via the Super Sol Supermarket. . Please see the timetable by the bus stop .The cost of the bus journey is €1. A Taxi into town will cost approximately €7, although many choose to walk instead.

First rate apartment

We stayed as a couple, and really liked the apartment. Alec provides all necessary information (and a lot more helpful info, too) during the booking process and in the lead up. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and well equipped - everything you could possibly want (plus quite a lot more) is provided. It is all very smart, but the balcony is the best feature, with some great views. The beach is also very nice, and the pool on the complex is refreshing for a dip (maybe a little small if the place is busy). Highly recommended!

Perfect stay!!

Came as a family of 4 and it was absolutely perfect. First time visiting nerja and it was absolutely stunning a real hidden gem. The property sits in a lovely complex right above burianna beach which is only a 5 minute walk through very nice tropical gardens. The apartment itself was clean spacious and the views were incredible, there is also a bbq on the terrace which is perfect if your fancying a quiet night In. There is also lots of information provided about local excursions, things to do in the local area and restaurant recommendations as well. Overall i couldn't fault from the booking process right through the whole holiday thanks again Alec, Hasta pronto!!

January to March 2017, a Winter holiday

A nice place to get away from a Canadian Winter! We very much enjoyed Casa Lucia and it was a pleasure to deal with Alec, the owner, and his representative on site. Both were very helpful in accommodating our needs. The compact 2 bedrooms apartment is very well equipped, even for a long stay. While the steps from Burriana beach below can be challenging at times (especially after a nice meal at one of the many restaurants), the lift to/from the street and parking is a welcome feature. Capistrano Playa is at a reasonable walking distance to the supermarkets and center town and the hourly bus service is practical for those who prefer not to walk. Of course, the Winter weather does not permit swimming but temperatures remain pleasant in general, and the view of the sea from the terrace is the icing on the cake! We recommend Alec's apartment without hesitation.

Another great holiday in Nerja

We stayed for the second time in your wonderful apartment and couldn't have been more pleased with our holiday! The apartment has everything you need and the best thing of all is the location: right next to the fabulous Burriana beach and the center of Nerja just 15 minutes walk away.

There are also many interesting places to visit from here. Last time we made a trip to Granada and Alhambra and this year we visited the cities of Malaga and Almería and also some beautiful villages nearby, for example Frigiliana and Cómpeta.

And last but not least: The customer service provided by the owner was excellent, once again :). Thank you Alec, I hope we can return some day.

Great apartment, superb location!!

The location of the apartment was the best thing, just a few minutes away from the wonderful Burriana beach. The property was nice, the bed a bit short for our daddy (height 1,95 cm), but otherwise everything was fine.

Owner's Response: Since this last review was written, the main double bed has been replaced with a 2m long King Size double with storage space inside it, for suitcases,shoes etc.There is also a new matching mattrass.This will hopefully provide guests with that added level of comfort.

Fabulous apartment, stunning sea and beach views

We have stayed in Capistrano Playa before and whilst we loved Capistrano Playa, Burriana and Nerja, the apartment we chose at that time did not meet our expectations which was disappointing. Undeterred we decided to give Capistrano another go and in June this year we stayed at Alec’s apartment for the first time and our expectations were massively exceeded, so much so that we booked to go back in September!

The apartment has an amazing location and stunning sea views from both the balconies (two balconies, a bonus!) In fact you can hear the waves lapping on the shore the beach is so close, very relaxing when you are chilling, reading or sipping a glass of wine and wonderful to wake up to every morning! We felt so relaxed in this place.

The apartment is very light and airy with lots of personal touches. It is a good size and we were surprised at how spacious the two bedrooms and the bathroom are. Having a washing machine was a winner for me, means you can take less clothes so no charges on overweight baggage! The apartment is absolutely spotless and has everything that you could possibly need to make your stay feel like home from home in fact the kitchen seemed better equipped than our own at home. The bedding and towels are very good quality and the bed is very comfy. With regards things to see and do, Alec goes the extra mile to provide loads of great information about the local area, from recommendations on best places to eat to where to get cheapest broadband!

Capistrano Playa is an award winning complex and deservedly so. It is a very pretty (and very safe) complex with a large central ornamental pool and a lovely tropical garden walk down to Burriana beach (5 mins from the apt). Burriana is a lovely beach and probably the best in the area, it has great facilities for young and old alike and has very good restaurants/tapas bars. Nerja is just about the nicest Spanish town we have ever visited, looking out to sea it has retained its old Spanish charm with narrow little streets, no high rise, and fantastic restaurants.

But the jewel in the crown is Alec’s apartment! With stunning sea & beach views it really has been a ‘find’. Alec has gone to great lengths to make sure that you want for nothing and is genuinely keen for feedback on how he can improve things to give you an ever better experience. To be honest after two visits this year there is absolutely nothing we can recommend, it is all there! We plan to be regular visitors!

Quite rightly, Nerja has often been described as the jewel in the crown of the Costa del Sol. Situated 50km from Malaga, it is unlike many of the overdeveloped towns along the Costa del Sol. The motorway runs a few km north of the town allowing Nerja to maintain that unspoilt village like quality with its winding narrow streets of the old town and picturesque whitewashed low rise houses. The town offers a wide choice of good quality restaurants waiting to be sampled.

The heart of the town is the Balcon de Europa, from which you have unparalleled views across the Mediterranean in three directions. As evening draws in, the street entertainers, painters, vendors and musicians arrive turning the area into a hive of activity to be enjoyed by everyone of all ages.

Nerja offers the ideal surroundings to taste a little of the real Spain so lacking in other parts of the Costa del Sol and our apartment at Capistrano Playa is an ideal location from which to have a relaxing holiday.
