Description

L'ERMITAGE de l'Abbaye

Charming and pretty house for 4 seasons holidays, L'Ermitage offers a comfort similar to the famous 'Hôtel de Charme'. ' A soul, an atmosphere, an art of living ' The villa is located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, very close to the Lascaux caves and a few kilometres away from Sarlat la Canéda, Montignac, Beynac and Castelnaud. The house has been entirely renovated by a well-known architect in the pure traditional art. It is located in the village of Saint Amand de Coly listed as one of the most beautiful French village. Wonderful view on a private land (3.2 acres) on a wooded valley. Those who like old stones will love the house that combines comfort and authenticity. Everything was made for you to be at ease; rooms are spacious and luminous. This house is perfect to relax during your holidays. Outside, the wooden terrace suggests you to gaze at the view and to refresh yourself in the heated pool to a temperature of about 26°C (79°F).

About the property

Les maisons de l'Abbaye

Les Maisons de l'Abbaye offers 3 charming villas totaly independant , very different and all very quite:

La Forge- 230 m2- is the largest of the three houses.

The more traditional with its thick stone walls, a really nice renovation, whatever the season. Warm in winter with its large fireplace. Ideal in summer as it remains cool. The rooms are spacious and each have their own bathroom and toilet.

The terrace overlooks the main rooms on the ground floor. It continues with a private heated pool with an electric roller shutter provides security and you will be totally held with small children.

A raised garden gives you a great view of the park and the valley. A haven of peace

L'Ermitage- 170 m2 - with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms - Definitely is a great achievement. Beautiful combination of old stone, wood and glass with noble and perfectly adapted materials.

You will find in this house both the heat of the stones and timber and gaiety and light brought by the large windows. It feels good at the Hermitage.

The rooms on the ground floor opens onto a wooden terrace and a private heated pool. You are above the park in a very quiet very private space, with a 180 ° unobstructed countryside.

La Source- 200 m2 - is our last renovation - 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom. A great compromise of la Forge and L'Ermitage. Both light and overlooking 2 beautiful spacious but cozy terraces with wood and old stones. A nice heated pool Feel yourself in the pictures.

The pool is fully integrated into the walls of the enclosure of the village. The terraces are extended by the parc.Vous pass directly to your private space on the green grass in the garden.

3 houses, carried out in a spirit very close offer luxurious comfort. Downstairs floors are refreshing. Upstairs, the rooms are spacious and air conditioned. The bathrooms are very nice. The kitchens are equipped with all the necessary equipment to make a good kitchen.

Wondering which to choose. We still ask the question so these 3 houses are both different and so nice.

The comfort is similar to the famous 'Hôtel de Charme'. ' A soul, an atmosphere, an art of living ' The villa is located in the heart of the beautiful village of Saint Amand de Coly.

About Florence Clement

Married with 3 children we spent our time between Dordogne and Paris where we live.

Florence Clement purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Florence Clement chose Perigord Noir

We fell in love with old stones and particularly the village of Saint Amand de Coly. We decided to restore the houses for ourself and took a well known architect of Sarlat. Florence is very talented for decoration and this help a lot to feel rapidly like at home.

Fabulous house in fabulous, tranquil setting!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house, very good amenities, very peaceful and beautiful setting. It will be even better I think if in summer the restaurants surrounding the house will be open, and you can stroll to them for your dinner, although we did also like the fact that everything was so peaceful now (in springtime). Only a handful of tourists going through the little hamlet of Saint Amand de Coly. Enjoyable stroll through the hamlet. Interesting past. Walking paths going from several points of Saint Amand going through the woids and up the hill. Easy ride to the local supermarket about a ten minutes drive where they have everything. Very good cooking facilities. It wasn't that hot during our stay but in the summer I think the electric blinds in front of the window in the master bedroom will certainly come in handy to block the sun. We drove all around the Dordogne from the villa and enjoyed ourselves very much! Oliver, the local caretaker was also very friendly and helped us very efficiently when there was a minor problem with the dvd player. Will recommend this place without hesitation to snyone visiting the Dordogne!

Definite luxury

  • 5 of 5

This was a very upmarket property. Beautifully equipped and furnished. The heated pool and air conditioned house made it so easy to cool off when the temperature was in the 30s. The adjoining meadow was accessed from the terrace and it was easy to keep an eye on the children. The Village is a delight and worth exploring. We will go back!

Un séjour inoubliable

  • 5 of 5

A recommander absolument.

Rural France at its best

  • 5 of 5

This is a very well laid out property in a quiet hamlet. We chose it because it has wheelchair access - albeit that you need a portable ramp to get up the small step from the lane to the path to the front door and a standard toilet chair doesn't quite fit over the toilet in the otherwise excellent accessible bathroom. Otherwise little to fault it. Excellent location, lots to see and do round about and Le Table de Jean in Coly well worth a visit even if you have to lug a wheelchair up the four steps from the road. We will be back.

L'Ermitage

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautiful and so is the area. The village is very peaceful with lots of birdsong and wildflowers along the paths. We enjoyed the pool when the weather improved, and when the cover had been fixed ! Vincent was very responsive, helpful and kind. One thing that could have improved our stay was better accessibility to the two local restaurants, the steps were impossible for our son.

What an amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Four friends celebrating special birthdays and we wanted a special place to stay - we were not disappointed at all with L'Ermitage. The house was perfect, Vincent met us and made us feel at home, answering all our questions and readily available for a couple of minor queries on the first day after which we had everything we needed. The village was very quiet and we enjoyed lovely walks through the woods and peaceful times by the pool.

Lots of lovely places to visit within 20-60 minutes drive and the local markets sell superb fish, meats, fruit & veg.

We would recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, quality house to stay and peace and quiet.
