About the Owner

My husband Oliver born in Congo and groving up in İvory Coast and i born in Turkey and groving up n Gernmany . ı meet him in Germany when he was student .We startet to travel in Turkey since 1993 in this year we discovered this beautifull village Kayaköy and the surrounding along the Lykian coast. We feel in love with this vlllage and the area.

İt is a peace of paradise .1997 we traveld again into this area and bought our land over 6500 2m with an old ruin on it.

2004 we startet to renovate the historical ruin and build up our holiday home Villa Eden. İn this time Oliver worked as a İngenier in a Germany company and i worked as a intensive care nurse in a Hospital. Oliver changed his work and startet to work as an Obsurver . His flexibel work allowed us in 2007 to move to Turkey and we change our life . We moved into Villa Eden and had a wonderfull time.

Later we decided to build up 2 other Villas and chare our special life with our guest from all over the world.

We gave the name for our holiday home Villa Eden because it set in a peacefull surrounding infront of the pine forest near the Gohst town Kaya village.

Our feedback on our stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay in this very attractive villa, which compared very well to the many other villas we have stayed in. The hosts were very friendly and left us to enjoy our stay in peace. The pool was excellent, and very clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable.

The few comments we have are as follows:

1. the track to the villa was VERY rough, and also there was no notification of the narrow width - we might have hired a car that was too wide !

2. there was no book in the villa telling us about local amenities, restaurants, places of interest etc.

3. there were no plugs for the kitchen sink or the bathroom basin.

4. a liquid soap dispenser in the bathroom would have been preferable to a bar of soap (which became very messy after a couple of days !)

5. there were no cloths or cleaning materials to keep the kitchen surfaces clean.

We know that these are small points, but they do make a difference when away from home.

We send our best wishes and thanks again for a good time.

Fantastic Villa, Fantastic Host, Fantastic Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The place was absolutely brilliant... I think it was one of the best holidays we had as a family. Arife and Oliver were the perfect hosts. The place is amazing, its rural, quite, private and above all allows you the time to relax and take in the mountain views and scenery. You will need a car as the restaurants are approx 4 mins drive from the villa.

We stuck to about 3 restaurants in the village. All were brilliant, Istanbul, Muzzy's place, Avalon Steppes although there were plenty more to choose from.

The pool was amazing, fresh water and no chlorine.... heaven.

Arife arranged a full day boating trip with Tamar and his lovely wife, it is well worth taking up, he took us to about 5 quite beaches where we swam in the sea and his wife cooked an amazing lunch... no less than 14 different dishes... I was stuffed.

There is loads to do also, we went to gemlier beech which is a secluded beech about 15 mins drive from the villa, quad biking for my kids, Hisaranu is a short drive away if you want to dance the night away and of course Olu deniz and the beautiful lagoon.

We as a family will be definitely rebooking soon and will be telling our friends and family to do the same.

If you are having any doubts booking, don't...... book it and enjoy....

Very lovely house in a spectacular setting.

  • 5 of 5

Villa Eden is in the most lovely setting. The gardens and pool are spectacular and peaceful both by day and night. We were amazed by the number of mature trees and plants including pomegranite and fig trees. It is all set in the lovely unspoilt village which is not at all touristy but plent of basic shops and good resturants, not that we sampled many resturants as it was hard to tear ourselves away from the terraces and BBQ!

The house is lovely and quite spectacular, it is useful to know that the second bathroom as well as the third bedroom are upstairs accesssed by an external staircase.

All in all a brillant holiday with perfect weather and Arife is extremely helpful as well an excellent cook!

A genuine, blissful retreat

  • 5 of 5

This villa is a rare find. Its location is nothing short of magical. Its style is effortlessly beautiful, and its atmosphere is pure, relaxed and inspiring. It has everything you need to relax into your holiday. The pool is perfect, the various shaded areas give you the freedom to soak up or shelter from the sun at any given point in the day, the local shops are well stocked and just down the track, as is the magical ghost village. Restaurants and bars are a few minutes away - close enough to walk to, but far away enough to leave you in total tranquility at the villa.

Arife, the lovely owner, is there to welcome you and to help, as she lives in the villa next door - but she is not at all intrusive and privacy is assured.

We'll definitely be back – it’s a very special place in a very special part of beautiful Turkey.

Fantastic, amazing week at Villa Eden-wonderful !

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic, wonderful villa and Arife is just amazing. You could not hope for a nicer villa, pool and setting - we all had a wonderful time here celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. Arife is the most wonderful hostess - nothing was too much trouble and she made us so welcome. We will miss her and hope to return next year, if we can. Thank you Arife.

Beautiful Villa in lovely peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

Villa Eden is a beautiful villa in a gorgeous location. It is a ten minute walk into Kaya Village where there are many places to eat and drink.

The villa itself is spacious and has everything that you would need for your holiday. The pool was gorgeous and the gardens stunning. The owner Arife who lives next door was very helpful and kind. I really cannot think of one negative of staying here. If you enjoy a beautiful peaceful location in a stunning villa then stay here!!

From the Owner

Villa Eden is a historical ,charming, beautiful stone holiday retreat. İt set in a quite peaceful part of Kayakoy infront of the pine forest . İf you love the nature and quite , harmony atmospher it is the perfect home for you. It is also well located, with those who enjoy walking well catered for, with a plethora of trails leading through the valley and into the surrounding mountains and forests. The inclusive car provides easy access to the nearby secluded beach at Gemiler and the hidden delights of the Fethiye peninsula, together with the more commercial attractions of the renowned beach at Ölü Deniz and the Lycian Coast beyond.

Kaya is an unspoilt mountain village and is, in itself, a tourist attraction. It’s population was a mixture of Turkish and Greek until the 1920’s when political differences between the two countries governments resulted in a population exchange. All Greeks in turkey returned to Greece and vice versa. From then the once- Greek homes are now in ruins. Some people mistakenly call Kaya the “Ghost Town” but this is inaccurate as there is still a thriving Turkish community there.

The village is 15 minutes by car from both Fethiye & Olu Deniz beach, the most beautiful & famous beaches in Turkey. There is a regular mini-bus service from the village square to these places as well as to Hisaronu, a bustling village with plenty of restaurants and nightlife 10 minutes away. It is surrounded by mountains & forests, wonderful for walks & picnics and relaxing.
