Four, 2 bedroom houses in Batheaston with good acces into Bath centre

.The Malthouse comprises of three luxury 4 star holiday homes located in the village of Batheaston just two miles from the centre of Bath. House Two and House Three have one master bedroom with ensuite, a single bedroom, House One and House Four have 2 double bedrooms. Each house has its own parking space if you wish to drive, if not there is a bus stop about 50 yards away with a regular bus service into Bath running every 10 minutes.

The houses consist of open plan kitchen and living areas original beams and vaulted ceilings and feature stone walls . The kitchens are fully integrated with all appliances, breakfast bar and ample work surfaces. The lounges are set within a beautiful vaulted barn style ceiling with subtle lighting and wooden floors.

We provide luxury bedding and towels to each bedroom, ensuite shower room and family bathrooms are fully tiled with all modern fittings including over bath shower and enclosure.

We were delighted with the beautifully clean cottage where we were able to stay 3 nights. Great for exploring Bath

and surrounding area. Plenty of hot water, warm and cosy, well equipped. It is well designed to maximise use of the small site and we 3 adults managed fine. Initial supplies of milk bread tea coffee wine all made for a warm welcome.

Out of all 4 properties we have stayed at in the last 2 weeks this was by far the best

Great facilities, close to transport and a short walk down past the toll bridge and along the canal into the city. It was quiet at night and close to a supermarket in case we needed anything. Our car was safely parked behind electronic gates. Bath was fantastic and proved a good base to explore Somerset and Wales.

Really lovely property with all the facilites you could need for a short stay.

Not the easiest property to find on first arrival but after a few turns we found the narrow street leading off the main road. The security gate opened after following the instructions provided. Bedrooms are downstairs and living area is on the first floor. Everything you needed was there and a welcoming bottle of wine, some biscuits and fresh milk were considerate touches that gave a good initial impression.

For us Wifi is vitually essential and on the first evening we were able to study Google maps and other websites on our ipad/iphones to make final plans for our few days in and around Bath.

We brought bicycles which we could chain to the railings outside the property, but which were fantastic to travel into Bath via the canal path (Kennet and Avon Canal) and a regular cyclist could get into the centre in 20 - 30 minutes without rushing. On the day we used the bus, the return journey cost £10 for all three of us.

The weather was hot during our stay and we did wish that the window in the pitched roof on the first floor could have been opened as it did get a bit hot. The bedrooms did also get a bit hot at night, but no doubt for 90% of the year that wouldn't have been a problem.

Our bikes were fixed to a rack at the rear of our small car and on leaving the site the rack bottomed out as we rose up the slope out of the security gate. But I'm sure that wouldn't happen to family cars with no rack fixed to the back.

We wouldn't hestitate to recommend our friends to stay at this property.

An apartment of two parts

The "joining" instructions were very good, as was the first impression. The first floor living area was spacious, well appointed, airy and comfortable. The listing was accurate, and a full range of appliances and fittings were available.

The ground floor had a single bedroom and bathroom, both of which were adequate. The double bedroom was very compact - plenty of storage spaces, but very difficult to move around the bed. The room was dark and airless with one small window. The en-suite bathroom was even more cramped. It was difficult to get into the shower because of the door, and the shower hose leaked badly so that most of the water went straight down the drain. Using the toilet and wash-hand basin was equally difficult in such a confined area.

The location for visiting Bath was ideal with a good bus service, to town and the Bathampton Mill Gastro-Pub was well worth a visit for dinner.

We would definitely consider returning if one of the other apartments had larger double bedroom/bathroom

The roman city of Bath has been designated as a World Heritage Site, with many fascinating historical sites to be seen, some dating back as far as the first century. The world famous roman baths are not one to be missed. As Well as its history Bath has an abundance of designer shops and boutiques, with a wide and varied choice of restaurants, bistros and pubs. Bath City Centre is two miles away, with a regular bus every ten minutes.
