About this property

The deck of this 2 bedroom/2 bath property looks out over Robb Field with open space and athletic fields. Behind this is the San Diego River with a bike path that connects to bike routes that travel throughout San Diego County. Ocean Beach has been described as the place where the sun sets on San Diego, and the sunsets are phenomenal. It is centrally located in coastal San Diego with easy access via both Interstate 5 and 8.

Our home is located on the North edge of Ocean Beach, a small beach community of San Diego. It is one of the most relaxed places in all of Southern California. It is one cool and hip place. OB, as it is known, is very laid back, receiving the 2015 Certificate of Excellence award from TripAdvisor. It is a self contained community with excellent restaurants, markets, shops, bars and craft beer. It is home to the longest concrete pier on the west coast, where fishing is legal without a license.

Voltaire Street is two blocks from our home and home to several convenience stores, bars and restaurants. Newport avenue, the main street business area, is a short walk, in fact you can stroll along the beach to get there.

Within 2 blocks, there is a noodle house, bistro, sandwich shop, pizza & bakery There are also three restaurants on the corner less than a block away.

There is a bike path that goes along the San Diego River and Mission Bay. It possible to ride to downtown San Diego. If you feeling adventurous, you can circumnavigate San Diego Bay on the Big Bay Bike Route or ride to Oceanside along the Coast Highway.

The kitchen has many handy appliances, including a cuisinart, blender, & crockpot.

The deck has a glider and hot tub. You can view Sea World fireworks from the hot tub. Please note that children under 6 are not allowed in the spa.

There is also a large shared area that includes a coin operated laundry room. There you can meet my friendly long-term tenants from the other three units. This area is fenced with a gate that opens to the park & bike path so you never have to take your dog along the street as you go to the beach together.

Our second stay here in Ocean Beach

This is our second stay at Chris’s place. It is a great value for a 2 bedroom with private hot tub in Ocean Beach which has a unique old time hippie beach vibe which we enjoy even as retirees. We had daily walks to the dog beach, weather permitting, to let our pup enjoy his best life while we took in sunsets over the ocean.

Very comfortable place in great location. We loved walking to Dog Beach from the bungalow. Amenities we especially appreciated: RO water purifier; stainless steel pressure cooker; immersion blender; space to put bikes inside; nice off street parking; private outdoor patio area; attentive host; on site washers and drier (bring quarters); quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors; close to OB Coop.

Great Stay

This is a great place in Ocean Beach, walking distance to most things you could want. I went every day to the dog beach with my dog. Walking to the main strip takes about 15 min. The patio is great and the neighbors are nice. I’d stay again.
