Sterling Manor is perfect for large families, families traveling together, Corporate groups, or sports teams!

The Manor is a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath home that can sleep 17 OR MORE!. The home is newly renovated, professionally decorated, and all of the comforts of home are provided, including fresh linens, blankets and bath towels. (Bring your own beach towels, chairs and toys!)

Sterling Manor has been SPECIFICALLY designed for large groups and can seat 17 in the dining room and 4 at the breakfast table, with additional seating available in the kitchen area. The kitchen has plenty of cupboards for storage and all new stainless steel appliances: stove/oven, large refrigerator, dishwasher, a microwave/counter top convection oven, a stove top microwave, a coffee maker with coffee/tea supplied, and a blender. The kitchen is stocked with pots/pans/dishes/glassware/utensils/dishtowels/limited spices/initial supply of paper towels, etc. It is also conveniently set up for catering, for those who don't wish to cook during their vacation. (Should you be interested in catering, please advise us and you will be provided with names of local caterers.)

The front main living room is very large with three (3) comfortable couches, an electric fireplace, and a 50 inch HDTV with cable. It also has a separate area set up with a table and chairs for games or puzzles. WIFI is available.

Three (3) of our spacious bedrooms have 2 queen pillow top beds each, and their own adjoining bathrooms. The bath off the master bedroom has a luxurious in floor heated tile shower with double shower heads, the quaint bath off the 2nd bedroom has a full shower, and the third bathroom has a tub/shower combo, for those who prefer hot baths after a long day out enjoying the Adirondack wilderness. There are air conditioning units available in the bedrooms that do not get full access of the prevailing ADK breezes (located on the down wind side of the home), although most homes here in the ADK mountains rarely use air conditioning.

In the back section of the Manor is a second living room with couch, comfy chairs, 30" cable TV and an electric fireplace. The additional two (2) bedrooms are located here as well (bringing the bedroom count to 5 total). The 4th bedroom, decorated in creams and greys, has a queen pillow top bed and views of Whiteface Mountain. The 5th bedroom has a modern decor with a twin bunk over a queen futon, providing sleeping accommodations for three people comfortably in this bedroom. Again, all bedding is provided.

Sterling Manor also boasts a large screened in side porch overlooking Whiteface Mountain, with seating. And, during the warmer months, a gas grill and picnic tables will be provided for your use in the side yard/garden...a nice place for the children to gather or the adults to enjoy a nice glass of wine or cup of coffee. A gas fire pit will be available summer of 2017 for your enjoyment....This feature will be built in June of 2017.

Sterling Manor is located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, groceries and pharmacies, hair salons, spas, a fitness center, and family entertainment centers. It is also next to another of our properties, the Mt. Joe Apartment (a one bedroom, living room with queen sleeper sofa, gas fireplace, full kitchen, and one bathroom), which can be rented in addition to Sterling Manor if it is available (listing 3990680 - Mt Joe apartment).

An additional convenience is the free Trolley, which stops right on our property and can take you anywhere in town you wish to go.

The Adirondacks are not only beautiful, but offer so many opportunities to experience the great outdoors. Numerous nearby lakes and rivers provide our guests with swimming, rafting, boating, kayaking, SUP, canoeing, and fishing. The mountains offer hiking, rock climbing, ice climbing, and of course, winter skiing. Additionally, there are opportunities for horseback riding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and summer hiking and camping. There are many guide services and ski shops that can help you plan your outdoor events and can rent you all the equipment you need.

There is also plenty to do if you are not the "outdoorsy" type: stores, gift shops, theaters, art galleries, book stores (yes, they do still exist!), craft lessons, farm markets, Olympic Museums, and simply driving the many back roads of the area. Upon your arrival at the Manor, you will find many brochures for your perusal, which will help you identify what events you would most enjoy.

Sterling Manor, and Marshalladkrentals, is ready to welcome you to the Adirondacks. Unlike many vacation properties, the owners of Sterling Manor are on property almost every day, so are available to you to provide any assistance you may need.

PLEASE NOTE: RATES ARE DEPENDENT UPON SEASON, SPECIAL EVENT WEEKS, AND NUMBER OF PEOPLE STAYING.

Note, the whole house is designed to sleep 17 comfortably and there is a per night per person surcharge for each additional person. Owner reserve the right to visit property to ensure extra guests are not staying for free.

Also, during the weeks of horse show, and the Ironman Triathlon, there is a minimum stay requirement of 4 nights. During the summer months of July and August, there is a minimum stay of 4 nights.

AS AN ADDED BONUS TO OUR RENTERS: Each stay comes with 2 single person, single day passes to Fitness Revolution (upon advance request only) which is the fitness club located on property, as well 6 free miniature golf games with the purchase of 6 games at Boots and Birdies Miniature Golf Course (adult supervision REQUIRED, free game offer may not be split between visits).

MINIMUM STAY DURING HORSESHOW AND IRONMAN IS 5 Nights.

About Barbara (Scotty) Marshall

Barbara (aka Scotty) and Brian are both Adirondack natives who love the area and wish to promote it to others! The Sterling Manor was previously owned by the Sterling Family and is over 100 years old. Mr. Sterling was well known for his travels to the Alaskan wilderness. He, an animal lover, brought back from his travels many animals, and eventually opened the "Land of 1000 Animals" on this land and the adjoining lot. Here, visitors could observe the wildlife up close and from deer, bear, mink, fox, and even bicycle riding monkeys...!

We hope by renting the Sterling Manor, everyone can experience a taste of the Sterling hospitality and love for the Adirondacks.

Superb place for our family getaway!

This place is nothing short of a treasure. It has a funky, old-world floor-plan which gives everyone their own quiet space when needed. At the same time, it has vast, open areas for communal meals and wonderful family time. The bedrooms are enormous. The furnishings are top quality, welcoming and comfortable. Most impressive is the attention to detail, from the paint, to the tile-work, to the kitchen appointments, and most especially the breathtaking landscape and wildlife carvings that adorn the downstairs walls. The owners are super friendly and helpful. It was a pure joy to stay here.

Rates START start at $650 per night for whole house rental (off season) and increase during season, and depending upon holiday or event weeks and number of guests in the home. Additional insurance coverage for damage protection may be required. Rates may vary based upon season, holiday weeks or special event weeks, and number of guests. Optimal occupancy is 16 guests so there is a per person per night surcharge for each additional guest. Minimum stay requirement may apply, and owner reserves the right to increase rates during holiday weeks or special event weeks. Check in is at 5pm and Check out is at 9am, Cancellations within 31 days of arrival date forfeit all monies, rents, deposits, etc paid to date. Cancellations made 31 to 61 days prior to arrival will receive a 50% refund of monies, rents, deposits, etc paid to date. Cancellations made prior to 61 days to arrival date will receive a 25% refund. Failure to check out timely, take out garbage, recycling, strip sheets off beds, clean grill, or any housekeeping issues that require additional housekeeping time and effort above the normal may result in retention of part of the security deposit to cover additional costs of housekeeping staff and time. Failure to adhere to housekeeping rules including cleaning gas grill during summer and taking out garbage and recycling may result in a forfeiture of a portion of the security/damage deposit to cover additional expenses incurred by the owner for additional housekeeping charges.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
