This district is one of the finest in Lisbon and its well-known for the presence of many nice tiny streets with some really beautiful balconies. The district is connected to Alfama by the typical tram nº 28.

This is a very charming flat; its windows open to the most dazzling views of Lisboa and its roofs as well to some of the watchpoints of Lisboa from the sofa your living room.

You will be in love with the house and its views

The apartment is on the 4 floor ( no elevator) with much quietness since the area is restricted for car transit.

The flat have a modern and design decoration.

Very nicely arranged to accommodate 4 persons.

Two separate bedrooms, with double beds of 140 wide.

The bathroom features a bathtub and towels for your own use. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals from breakfast to dinner unless you prefer to go out in the many nearby restaurants, “esplanadas” or fado houses.

The owners were extremely nice and very communicative prior to departure. Free pick-up from airport was great. Upon arrival Maria gave us cheese, wine and bread. Views of city are unparalled. Small grocery and coffee/pastry shop on first floor is very convenient. Great restaurants short walk away. Castle, museums, and main train station within walking distance. Apartment is roomy, clean and very well decorated. Free Wi-Fi in aparment was convenient.

Enjoyed the town and trips around including Sintra and a trip over the river.

Especially enjoyed an evening out at a Fado house where we were made very welcome by all.

Because I don't know how... I pick you up at the train station 9:30pm, I carried your luggage 4 floors without elevator, I provide local guides, free internet to use outside (mobile router), I spend 30 minutes explain to you how to explore the city, when I went home, fresh bread, cheese, custard and a bottle of wine was on the table for you. The apartment have everything you need. I send you a full email with tips about restaurants, places to visit and a all day plan to visit Sintra. At the you call me to provide a taxi for you and I done. What was my mistake? How can I improve? Should I offer you the transfer to the train to? Best regards Nuno Catarino

Far exceeded my already good expectations

I heartily recommend this beautifully situated, central space at the foot of the castle. Nuno was an extraordinary host. We were absolutely delighted with his great attention to detail and extra effort compared with other providers of this sort of accommodation. He was very accessible via WhatsApp whenever we had a question and was a fountain of information on places to visit and dine. It was like travelling with a local next to you the whole trip. He's a lovely man and took great pride in ensuring our comfort starting with the much appreciated pick up at the airport. The place itself is bright, clean, spacious and has exceptional views all around. The two small terraces were delightful and one of the reasons I chose the place. How nice to end a day's sight-seeing with a bottle of port, a fine cigar and a spectacular private view . Thank you Nuno!!! I miss it already!!

An amazing location and a solicitous host who wants your stay to be perfect

We have been to Lisbon in the past but never have we had a host who was so generous with his time and was so thoughtful and communicative. The apartment had everything we needed and Nuno welcomed us with Portuguese pastries and a wonderful wine.

Upon entering the apartment, you will be quite taken with the views from the windows. They are very dramatic. The back balcony off the kitchen offers a wonderful outdoor space as well as a view of the castle above.

When investigating the property and looking at the map, I was worried the location wasn't ideal but, as it turned out, it was in the best location possible. There was easy access to all parts of Lisbon that you would want to see. If you are tired of walking up and down hills, it is very near the public elevators that will take you up to the apartment near the castle and down to the base of the Alfama.

If you want to find a place in the neighborhood to eat, Nuno made wonderful recommendations to us. They were small, family-owned restaurants frequented by the locals and the working class. We actually had our best food in Lisbon by taking our host's recommendations.

We will be coming back to Lisbon and, yes, we will make contact with Nuno, again.

Great views and an excellent host

The apartment was just below the Sao Jorge castle, and had great views right over Lisbon. It's on the 4th floor with no lift, but to be fair we knew that when we booked it, so no complaints. The owner was really helpful and gave us a mobile wifi device, which worked while we were out, giving us wifi all day. There were however several things that needed attending to, such as a power socket that was coming away from the wall and a door handle that came off in my hand. When we reported these things, the owner of the flat was round the next day to fix them, so that was good. So 4 stars only because of the issues that we needed to report.

Lisbon Apartment

This was a beautiful apartment. It was stylish, comfortable, really well equipped and had the most fabulous views over the city. It was easy to travel all over Lisbon and most places were in walking distance.

We were situated under the castle and the balcony was great to just sit and enjoy the local environment.

Our owner, Nuno, couldn't have been more welcoming and gave us excellent advice and information.

We just had the best time.
