About Judith Bono

My husband Jack and I live in a very small rural community in Missouri. We love the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of small town living. We love to trout fish, garden, travel and being with family.

Why Judith Bono chose Mooresville

We built this property in 2014 with the intention of using it for storage and also a workshop. Our plans gradually changed and we decided to convert the property into a guest house for travelers. We love to meet people and our decision has been perfect.

What makes this house unique

Our guest house is quiet, peaceful and well furnished. Our kitchen is fully equipped for the person that would like to cook during their stay. A garage is available for a car or truck, even a small RV. We are close to Missouri Star Quit and also to the Amish community of Jamesport, Mo.

Nice Large House

  • 4 of 5

The house has everything you need, except there are no storage areas for clothes. Judy provided plenty of good snack food when we arrived. Pancake mix, coffee with sugar and creamer, cereal and condiments were provided too.

If you like to play golf, play at Green Hills Golf Course in nearby Chillicothe. It's a great golf course to play and the green fee is cheap.

Mooresville Guest House is like a diamond in the ruff! It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, plus many perks in the kitchen. Judy provided wonderful garden vegetables, delicious banana bread, magazines and pamphlets for local attractions including a map.

Judy is a wonderful host! We really enjoyed our stay here.

I plan to recommend her wonderful guest house to friends who plan to come to Missouri to visit the Missouri Star Quilt Company store in Hamilton as I did.

Perfect little spot

  • 5 of 5

Everything was clean and ready on our arrival. Judy had left us a note and although she wasn't in town during our stay was available by phone to answer any questions and direct us to additional needed supplies. 4 of us stayed with the intent to head to Missouri Star Quilt Company and the location was perfect and a great place to relax at the end of the day.

Stay was great

  • 5 of 5

The Bono's are great and we enjoyed our stay in their lovely rental. If you are looking for a quiet location to just relax, this is the place. The rental was very spacious and we loved as we walked in the sense of home. Full size kitchen that is ready to cook any meal. The amenities were great and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thanks Judith,

Jeff and Shawna Porter

A real Gem in an out-of-the-way place

  • 5 of 5

Let's face it, Mooresville MO is in no danger of becoming too touristy. We were visiting because of excellent nearby birding sites. We were just hoping for a clean bed and good working kitchen. We did not expect to find the kind of pulled-together quality this little house offers. The open-plan interior is spotless and inviting. The fixtures and furnishings are modern and the kitchen is very well stocked by someone who obviously knows what a kitchen needs. The beds are firm (which we favor) and we slept very well. In other words, all the hardware you need is right at hand and in good working order. But we're experienced with rental houses and a bit stingy with stars, and the host is what added the 5th star to our rating. There is no convenience store in Mooresville (pop.91!) so there's a basket of snacks on the counter, and since we were celebrating a birthday, there were two pieces of cake with candles on the table when we arrived. Judy has mastered that difficult balance between being attentive and obtrusive. Everything we needed just seemed to magically appear. If birding is your thing, there are a lot of excellent accessible sites in a 30 mi. radius , even a nice population of bluebirds in the field overlooked by the porch. This house and host are worth going a little out of your way. HIGHLY recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you Maureen for that wonderful review. I’m always so elated when a guest has really enjoyed their time with us. Best of luck with the “birding” and I will look forward to seeing the photos. Judy

Relaxation at its best

  • 5 of 5

We chose this secluded rental because we needed to have a quiet breather. It did not disappoint in any way. Judy, our host, greeted us and thoughtfully provided us with brochures and ideas of day trips to take in the area. She was so helpful and kind - even providing us with fresh produce from her garden during our stay. The porch is just as relaxing as it looks in the pictures and the inside of the home is SO very nice. It is immaculate and I'm pretty picky when it comes to clean spaces. The kitchen has everything you could ever need for cooking. She has a small library organized along with DVDs and games. The refrigerator had cold bottled water and she had even provided some muffins, granola bars, and snacks. Those little touches are evident everywhere in the home. We would come back to this place and will definitely recommend it to our quilting friends and family as well.
