From Prince's Street there is easy access to: Waverley Station, Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, Museums & all tourist attractions & universities

Nearest local pub: The Bowlers Rest, a locals pub, full of friendly Leith people and with a choice of over 50 scotch whiskies ! is only 50 paces from the flat front door.(Edinburgh pub of the year 2016 & 2017)

Having said that, the flat, on the first floor is secure and quiet & lovely & warm !

To the front is a cobbled street (called setts in Scotland) & to the rear there are private gardens with parking for the flat available to either the front or rear.

Opposite the flat is Georgian Antiques with 4 floors of antiques - I bet you have never seen so many grandfather clocks in one place !(Antique dealer of the year GB 2016)

Behind that is Leith Links - where the game of Golf (or Kolf) was invented and there is still 9 holes to go round !

All of this is available to you......just go and join in and enjoy it !

Local and International Sport: Edinburgh is home to International Rugby Union in Scotland and games are played at Murrayfield stadium to the West side of Edinburgh city centre.

The flat has availability for rugby fans for the 3 weekends in November for the Autumn tests & for 6 Nations Rugby.

The owner is an avid rugby union fan & would be pleased to assist with bookings for games & possibly supply of tickets to bona fide & responsible fans.

Also there are 3 Edinburgh football teams, Hibernian (Hibs) based in Leith approx 1 mile from the flat and also Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) based in Gorgie near the rugby stadium - also nearby is Edinburgh City FC who play approx 1 mile away at Meadowbank Sports Stadium.

About Stuart Carmichael

I grew up in Glasgow & Edinburgh and my daughter went to Edinburgh University - for 7 years taking 2 degrees - and she now lives in Edinburgh with her partner - so we use the apartment as a 'home from home' to go and visit as we now live over 5 hours away in Sheffield in England.

The whole area is vibrant and developing despite the recession and the local people are all so friendly - we couldn't resist Leith !

It has bars and bistros and cosy pubs and 'posh' restaurants but also takeaways and local shops and national supermarkets.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is relatively new - less than 18 years old - and is in a quiet location with grass, trees and free parking to the front and rear.

It just seems ideal for local living or popping upto town.

Just behind the park called Leith Links (where the game of golf (or kolf) was supposedly invented.

This bright, safe, comfortable, first floor flat is on a quiet cobbled back street (known as setts in Scotland) with easy private resident parking outside.

450m to Edinburgh cosmopolitan waterfront known as 'The Shore' with loads of trendy bars, cafes, bistros, pubs & restaurants.

Across the park (400m) is a large supermarket & there is a local shop within 200 metres for bread, milk, chocolate & anything else you may need.

Approx. 1 mile away is the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre & the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed there.

5 minutes on a bus or a 20 minute walk up Leith Walk (depending how long you linger to look in all the shop windows on the way - or visit any of the 30 or so bars you will pass by) is Princes Street & the Castle & all of the City of Edinburgh attractions.

Other Activities: Rugby at Murrayfield Stadium and Football at Hibernian or Hearts the two Edinburgh Clubs

Golf: Craigentinny a public course is nearby only a couple of miles away. Good course - fairly flat but with some challenging holes and hills.

Notes:
There are 3 sets of golf clubs in the apartment including trollies, brollies and balls and tees. (Municipal course (Craigentinny - good and fairly flat too !) within approx. 1 mile £ 39.00 for two persons for 18 holes ie approx £ 20.00 each. There are 4 x bikes in our own bike store to the rear of the property. Clothes can be dried in the hallway on the hidden/ retractable clothes line or placed in the very warm boiler room in the hallway area. Brollies are stored there too - for when the weather isn't too kind - or borrow the golf brollies. Loads of info on things to do and places to go - you should never be bored !

A grand find- and a perfect host!

Beginning with the ease and fun of all communication with Stuart, to the chance to spread out with two bedrooms and two baths (truly spacious by European standards and a rare find), to the opportunity to explore a quieter and charming side of the busy Edinburgh area, this is a fantastic choice! This was our second visit to Edinburgh so we did not mind the quick Uber or easy bus ride into the city centre and it was nice to be able to have breakfast at home, thanks to the very nearby Tesco. We had spectacular weather so spent our days out and engaged with the beautiful city, but had the weather been bad would have been most at ease relaxing in the apartment. Stuart is available, makes things easy and so comfortable and we would definitely stay here on another visit! The key pick up at the pub is such fun!

Loved it

We loved our stay at Stuart's place. It was a very nice and comfortable place, the best during our week in the UK. Stuart was also very helpful and communicative before our arrival. The neighborhood was great, only a short bus ride from Edinburgh. The bar across the street was also a friendly place. We had hoped to bring our great-aunt; although she wasn't able to make it, Stuart was incredibly accommodating and supportive in that regard.
