Find peace with nature as well, as you’re within easy walks to many of our region’s most cherished outdoor destinations, from The Rose and Japanese Gardens to thousands of acres of trails in Forest Park.

Your stay will be comfortable! With a Queen Bed in each of the 3 Bedrooms, plus a Sleeper Sofa, this apartment is perfect for a luxurious getaway for the traveling couple, visiting family, business travelers, and small groups. Wifi, Smart TV are included.

While parking passes are available for purchase from the owner, no cars are necessary in this neighborhood! You'll have easy access to abundant public transportation, smart-cars, and our city's new public bicycles.

What makes this apartment unique

I love this building and this neighborhood. I walk to work everyday, in the nearby Pearl District. I love how I can stroll to nearby restaurants and Cinema 21 (our local independent theatre), or the neighborhood school park where I can gather with neighbors to watch the annual swift migration in the fall. A picnic in the Rose Garden is just a 20 minute walk away, or I can venture further with a walk up to the Hoyt Arboretum or The Japanese Garden, with its new expansion. While I'm a local, born and raised in NE Portland, as an adult, I've learned to fall in love with this city from a new perspective, one based on a combination of my familiarity with its unique streets, homes, nooks and crannies and parks, as well as the food and culture that has matured through the many, many people that have moved here.

Home Away From Home

We stayed here for a girls weekend it was amazing. Everything you need is at your fingertips , from resturaunts & shopping to a fully stocked kitchen . The house is so full of history and charm you won't want to leave. I would recommended this place to anyone looking for a fun trip to the city .

My First Negative Home Away Experience - The Devil is in the Details

This was my first disappointing Home Away experience. The pictures and description of this apartment are misleading and the apartment is overpriced based on the amenities offered.

First and foremost, the description should include at the very top there is no air conditioning - not just in the amenities check list. That may be fine in fall and spring however, the day we arrived (Sept. 4) there was a heat advisory for Portland with temps near 100 degrees. Additionally a raging forest fire near Mt. Hood made the air thick with smoke and ash – experts said the air quality was unsafe to hazardous. Keeping the windows open in these conditions was not an option - not to mention the street noise.

We contacted the property manager (owner?) who lives upstairs about the heat and she told us to call the housekeeper and ask for fans. When we called Home Away Customer Service they suggested we go to Walmart and buy and install a window AC unit. Silly suggestion and not viable solution.

Realizing we couldn't stay in an apartment without AC due to the smoke and heat, we quickly found a wonderful hotel in the Pearl District and moved (we didn't stay the night in the Home Away apartment).

While the manager/owner was very nice, she only refunded 50% of our payment minus fees, so we lost about $1,600. Needless to say this was a very disappointing and expensive experience.

Additionally, the apartment has no cable TV (a Home Away first for me) and while the apartment was clean, there was leftover food in the kitchen from the previous guests (including opened bags of chips and ice cream).

If you're looking for something with a Bohemian feel, this might be for you. If you’re accustomed a nicer, more comfortable Home Away experience, I would recommend you keep looking.

For what you get, this apartment is overpriced.

Amazing!

Pippa's place is amazing! Our group of 7 women stayed here and absolutely loved it! We had an early flight and Pippa allowed us to check in so we could drop off our baggage and explore the area. Excellent location within very close walking distance to many great stores and restaurants. The historic apartment has all of the amenities you'll need. We were a little worried about having only one bathroom, but it wasn't an issue at all. The only thing I would recommend is adding mirrors in the bedrooms. The apartment itself is huge, and we loved sitting outside on the porch. I would definitely stay here again!

Simply amazing!

Great location, great beds, great place!

Only knock is it only has one bathroom. Also I would hang more art work. There is plenty of room for it. Maybe a comfy chair for relaxing on the patio. Might also need a new French door fridge. But I am splitting hairs. This place is simply fantastic.
