A 2 Bedroom/2 Bath Duplex In A Charming Brownstone Of Approximately 1,400 Sf.

You will have private and entire access to this duplex unit in a charming brownstone. The unit is located on the first two floors of this beautiful brownstone. On floor 1, you will find two bedrooms which include the master suite. The master suite has a shower and toilet/sink area. Directly off the master suite, you will have direct access to the private backyard and deck on floor 2.

On floor 2, you will find an open floor plan with the kitchen/dining and living areas. There is a second bathroom on floor 2 that has a bathtub. Off the kitchen/dining area, you can also access the private deck and backyard where you will have exclusive use. On the deck, feel free to enjoy a meal at the patio table.

Wall and window air conditioners are installed in each bedroom and the kitchen/living area. Additionally, each bedroom has a work space for the business traveler. We offer free high speed internet access throughout the unit. You will find a flat screen TV with cable access in each bedroom. Additionally, the master suite offers a DVD/CD player and a 6-speaker surround sound system.

This unit is very clean with all the comforts of modern living including, dishwasher, washer/dryer, two electrical fireplaces, microwave oven, coffee maker, etc. This is a large apartment of approximately 1,400 square feet with fast commute to and from NYC in a quiet neighborhood. You will enjoy a short walk to restaurants, bars, stores, cafes, movie theater. Just an 8-10 minute walk to the Newport PATH train station which gets you into NYC.

As this is a historic home, we have a security camera pointing to the main entryway. We take the privacy of our guests seriously and have no cameras inside the rental unit.

About Allison

I grew up in NY and currently reside in NJ. I attended Stony Brook University on Long Island for college and completed my graduate work at Boston University. For many years I worked as a banker then went into business for myself as a real estate investor.

After college when I was trying to decide on a career path, a dear friend of mine suggested I go into hotel management as he felt I was very good at interior decorating in addition to having a good eye for detail.

Needles to say, I took a different career path. Well after many years of what I now realize to be great advice from my friend, I have the opportunity to use my real estate holdings, in addition to my love of interior decorating and gift of attention to detail to hosts guests like you and make you feel at home away from home.

As a kid growing up, I fell in love with brownstones from watching one of my favorite TV families reside in one. With this home you will enjoy the charm of an 1800's brownstone that has been renovated to offer all the comforts of modern living including, dishwasher, washer/dryer, two electrical fireplaces, microwave oven, coffee maker, etc.

Perfect location and base to visit New York!

The apartment had everything we needed for a family of four; the kids had to share a double bed, but we already knew that when we booked. It was spacious, secure and clean, with a good range of facilities, such as wifi, air conditioning, two showers and toilets, plenty of storage space, and a washing machine and dryer.

The only thing we struggled with slightly were the internal stairs, which were quite narrow and twisting at the top. A hand rail on the wall right at the top of the stairs would have been a welcome addition.

Overall this is one of the best holiday apartments we have ever stayed in, and we would definitely go back. Allison provided lots of information on the locality and the apartment itself, and was contactable if we needed help. She also very kindly left a very nice bottle of red wine for us on arrival, which my husband enjoyed tremendously......cheers 🥂

We opted to provide guests with more room to navigate the stairway with luggage so the rail on the top landing was removed. As you know, there is a handrail as you go up and down the stairs. A great place to stay in Newport/Jersey City!

We stayed in this lovely two level home with our family Mid-July for 8 days. (Two older girls, me and my husband). The place fit us perfectly with enough room for everyone to feel comfortable. Allison was very easy to contact and made us feel that we were welcome right away. We had a lot of plans in NYC and NJ and the location worked very well. The PATH train was super easy to use, close and clean. We never felt unsafe coming home late at night. The nearby Newport Mall gave us many options for eating, both quick and healthy. Loved B.Good! We also used Budget Rental which was a fast 12 min walk, and we had good parking choices for the overnight that we used the car. The staircase down to the bedrooms is rather steep at the top, so people with disabilities may have some inconvenience. We learned to take it slow and hold on. The beds were very comfortable with lots of closet space. The air conditioning works well which is great because we were there in a hot spell. Also the neighborhood is quiet at night with traffic noise at a minimum. The kitchen space was nice but a little crowded with us all in there cooking and eating. We ended up moving the table out into the open space and putting a chair under the overhanging light chandelier so no heads were smacked. It worked well because we really like eating breakfast all together discussing the day to come. We definitely recommend this beautiful Home Away as a choice for a stay.

Awesome NYC and Jersey City vacation July 2017

We were greeted at the door by Allison who kindly took the time to show us the apartment. It was everything we had hoped for, it had all the amenities, very clean and comfortable, very close to everything and a very safe neighbourhood. Allison was very quick to respond to email. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it . We were a 5 minute walk to a beautiful mall, the train, neighbourhood bars and restaurants. Just a great vacation. The neighborhood is safe and booming with new restaurants and boutiques. You will be one block from Hamilton Park. The PATH subway is an 8-10 minute walk to the Newport PATH station which quickly gets you into Manhattan.

Your walk to the Newport PATH station will be mostly indoors through the comforts of Newport Mall which is air conditioned in the Summer and heated in the Winter.

Just a seven minute subway ride to NYC. Walk to the Newport Mall and waterfront. There is a wide variety of nationalities where old world and new contemporary architecture meet.

Highlights include Restaurant Row on Newark Ave at the Grove Street PATH station, The waterfront, and access to the Statue of Liberty from the Jersey side. Under 2 minutes by car to the Holland Tunnel which gets you into NYC.
