About the property

Intimate Rock Bungalow Sleeps 4

My grandfather hand built this beautiful rock house bungalow in the 1940s. Just a couple of years ago my wife and I brought it into the 21st century with an open concept and sleek modern european bathrooms. Deep in the country with plenty of privacy. Cartersville is just a 10 minute drive away to supermarkets and shopping. Full house audio via Apple airport express along with fast wireless internet and HD cable TV. Sit on the porch in our all metal glider or at the teak table and chairs and enjoy the cool evening temperatures. Watch the "lightning bugs" glow as dusk approaches while enjoying a glass of wine on the front porch.

The house is situated on 2 acres of property and adjacent to 20 acres of pasture with cattle. We are about 20 minutes from Rome. Shaw Carpet plant 15 is about 5 minutes away and this property would make a great place to stay for company executives. 12.6 miles to Lakepoint Sports Complex.

Small pets are welcome.

About Emmett Bearden

I was born in Cartersville but moved away at a young age. I have returned every year to spend time with family and explore the hiking trails.

Emmett Bearden purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why Emmett Bearden chose Cartersville

My grandfather built this house on family land in the 1940's. After working all day at the Goodyear plant he would quarry the rock that went into the construction of the home. My wife and I visit several times a year and especially love the Spring and Fall.

What makes this bungalow unique

This house is surrounded by large trees set out by my grandparents over 70 years ago.

Accommodating, modern home convenient location

  • 4 of 5

Kitchen was equipped with everything one needed to prepare meals. There were new appliances to do laundry. The gas fireplace made for cozy evenings in the living room. We were within fifteen minutes of all the attractions, dining and shopping in Cartersville. We were there eight whole days and never ran out of things to do in Cartersville. The owner was available and easy to work with. His father who lived just across the street was very helpful also. We loved Cartersville !!,

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. Cartersville is a great small town! Our kitchen is well equipped since we stay in the home several times a year also and make all of our own food. Fast Internet, Netflix and HD Cable are also nice on those days when you want to stay in and warm by the fire. Y'all come back, soon!

Amazing home and a great owner.

I spent three months in Cartersville on business so it was very important I had adequate housing. After a long day at work it was a treat to be able to come home to this property and enjoy all of it’s comforts and amenities. The location was just minutes away from town but still had the feel of living in the country. The owner was easy to work with and handled any issues I had at a moments notice. I highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Cartersville on business or just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Quiet and clean

  • 5 of 5

My wife stayed for a week and enjoyed this historic home. It's far enough from town but not too far. The rock walls provide a safe and quiet secluded stay. The owner was prompt with any request and his dad who lives just a down the road offered lots of suggestions for activities and restaurants.

Just slightly north of Atlanta on Interstate 75, is Cartersville, a convenient vacation destination that you’ll quickly discover is one of Georgia’s gems! On the south side is LakePoint Sports where Perfect Game Baseball anchors a sporting complex that is a destination for more than 20 competitive youth sports. Terminus Wake Park and Rally Volleyball offer thrills on surf and sand. LakePoint Station is a family-friendly entertainment complex where guests play off-field.

Then there’s Allatoona Lake and Red Top Mountain State Park where lakeside cottages and campsites are a natural retreat for the city weary. And if you prefer to float your cares away, boat rentals are a breeze.

Head into Downtown Cartersville for charming boutiques and memorable local restaurants. Visits to the Smithsonian Affiliates Booth Western Art Museum and Tellus Science Museum, Bartow History Museum, Rose Lawn Museum, and Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site are a must.

Just west of Cartersville is Euharlee and the slower pace of the 1800s. The town is home to many original buildings and one of Georgia’s oldest examples of African American craftsmanship, the Euharlee Covered Bridge.

To the north is Cassville and Kingston, two communities forever changed in by the Civil War in 1864, but not before Union forces passed through Adairsville, the Bartow County town with the distinction of being the first Georgia city to be listed in its entirety on the National Register of Historic Places. Adairsville is home to antiques shops, a dinner theater, an original W&A Rail Depot and magnificent Barnsley Resort.
