About the property

3 bedroom luxury mews house sleeps up to 6 located in Central London

This exclusive mews house was originally where the Victorians housed their horse and carriages, at the other end of their garden from the main large terrace houses; in the early 1930’s these were converted into quaint homes. The property is decorated to a very high standard and is tucked away in a quiet leafy mews.3 bedrooms each with their own facilities make living here vey easy and it is only a 3 minute walk to buses and a 5 minute walk to the underground railway system. Within a 10 minute underground train ride or a 20 minute bus ride you will be in the heart of the west end of London where department stores, theatres and restaurants are in abundance; there is even a bus that takes you direct to Harrods. Little Venice has its own restaurants, a fringe theatre and a lovely selection of old pubs. It boasts every amenity, from a fully equipped eat in kitchen, Satellite TV, DVD player and ADSL line. The office/library and TV/family area will satisfy your business and entertainment needs. Facing south the property feels bright and airy; a housekeeper attends once a week or more frequently if required.

SITE SEEING: London is one of the most enjoyable and attractive cities in the world. Its history is rich and the cosmopolitan life style intoxicating. Theatre's are close to the property and first class, as are globally renowned museums and libraries. All of what London has to offer is within easy reach from the house, with most underground trips only taking 15 minutes and most bus trips just 30 minutes. For example the underground station, within 200 metres of the house, takes you to the heart of the West End in 15 minutes. Further Harrods, the worlds greatest department store, is only a 25 minute bus ride away (the bus stop is 100 metres from the house). The owner will call you if you provide your telephone No otherwise call Robert on +44.7818443443

The property lies in a a very pretty award winning Victorian Mews. The owners have considered everything to make your stay enjoyable, relaxing and exciting, being so close to downtown London. There is an underground station within 200 metres and a bus stop within 100 metres, both of which cross the very central part of London some 10 minutes to 15 minutes away. Local restaurants, a theatre, and the canals add to the experience. All guests are welcomed with a starter pack of necessary groceries and a bottle of wine. A full Manual is available on arrival explaining how everything works, what to do in emergency and recommended things to see, do and eat at.

I, and my family of three others, have rented many places in many European countries over the years. This unit was the best-equipped to date. We arrived, in the rain, from an overnight international flight, and it was so appreciated to be able to come to this home, sleep for a few hours, then carry on. The starter pack was exceptional - as we had not had the time, nor the energy after our flight, to drop into a grocery store when we first arrived. The location was perfect - a short walk to the tube, and we were good for the rest of the day. We felt very welcomed into this home; we felt that we were guests in their beloved and well-cared-for home. The unit is on three levels, so not the best for people with mobility issues, but for us, it was perfect. Our older daughter slept on the ground level, and the other three of us slept on the second level. The booklets of information were also terrific and much appreciated; we added some comments (as one of their recommended restaurants had recently closed its doors) so others could benefit from updated information. I would highly recommend this rental and hope that in the future when we come back to London (as we undoubtedly will), we can use this wonderful place again. Linda Ham, Nunavut, Canada.

Mixed review--Lovely home as advertised in a good neighborhood with a drawback

  • 4 of 5

First of all we certainly did enjoy being in this home, and we appreciated the location

which gave us easy access to London.

See our recommendations to the owner

1. Smaller chairs for the kitchen table would be nice, but the owner obviously knows that as indicated by the sense of humor regarding them in the general house directions.

2. Get mattress topper memory foam, the real thing, for the 4 small beds. We do not want to turn this subject into the Princess and the Pea tale, but we wonder if you have ever slept in them. A narrow cot width (75cm)is one thing, but combined with an inferior mattress .....not good for adults. One of us is the owner of The Historic Taos Inn and she used the word "unacceptable".

3. The downstairs bedroom is not suitable for two adults, so best to rent to only 5 adults

The Kitchen is fully, and i mean fully equipped.

The Lounge area is as the pictures show very good for the group to gather in the evening.

The Owner Robert Drew responds by email very quickly and is eager for you to enjoy your stay.

A lovely home!

  • 5 of 5

Every bit the London gem! From the great location in Little Venice, to the comfortable surroundings it was the perfect place from which to explore London. Everything one needs is provided and after a long day out it was great to feel "at home" as opposed to just being a visitor.

Lovely home with easy access to central London

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed in this lovely Mews home for 8 days. The home is extremely well cared for, clean, comfortable and offers easy access to the sights of London. There were also several very good options for eating nearby for the evenings we returned early. The Red Pepper was a favorite. Their pizza is amazing! It also offers very close access (< 5 minute walk) to underground as well as a convenience store for grocery items on the corner.

The owner is very gracious and responsive to work with and anticipates his guests needs. There is an initial supply of breakfast items for your first morning as well as a lovely bottle of wine. We particularly enjoyed the food items left for us so we could enjoy breakfast and then get our bearings in the village.

There is a selection of books to enjoy, movies, television, computer/printer, etc for time spent relaxing at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would love an opportunity to stay again!!

Lovely townhouse in a good location

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully furnished spacious townhouse in a quiet location residential location only a short walk to the tube station (Bakerloo line). While nearby pubs and restaurants were not numerous there were several which were quite good. The home is completely furnished with every amenity. We were 6 adults and the dining area off the kitchen could get crowded, especially at breakfast, the other areas were quite spacious. I highly recommend this place.

Traditional English Mews House in Central London

  • 5 of 5

Our two adult surrogate children, their spouses, and the two of us had the most wonderful 10 days in London. I was born in Oxford so have been back and forth to England umpteen times but not our children. What made this trip exceptional was the darling Mews house, so English and perfectly located. The host provided the most detailed information prior to our arrival so our plans were all laid out ahead of time. We used Empire Chauffeur service for longer trips to Bath, Stonehenge, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon, plus airport pickups. We become "part of the local scene" at the nearby Prince Alfred Pub, the bakery and grocery shop. All recommended by the host. The house was beautifully furnished and many personal photos made it feel just like home. Lots of hot water and plenty of storage for suitcases. Lots of coat hangers. We always pack a few extra but we really didn't need to do so this time. Even the neighbors were friendly and so inviting. I will highly recommend this darling house to others.
