Heritage Mews is a beautifully appointed holiday home with Visit England 5 Stars and Gold Award for 'exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service'.
It is in an excellent peaceful location in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town, just a few minutes' walk to the town centre, restaurants, Shakespeare Houses and Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Close to Holy Trinity Church and the River Avon, you can enjoy delightful riverside walks into town or out into adjacent countryside.
The cottage is personally managed by the owners, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. There is Wi-Fi and private parking for two cars - a real benefit in Stratford town centre. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting-dining room opening onto an attractive private courtyard garden - perfect for summer outdoor dining and a delight in all seasons. Upstairs is a bathroom and two elegant bedrooms, a queen-size double and a single, both with luxurious Egyptian cotton linen.
Heritage Mews has a beautifully maintained private courtyard-style garden, furnished with table and chairs and perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. Planted for colour and interest throughout the seasons, it is a delight to look out onto at all times of the year. Visit our website for more photos - www.heritagemews.co.uk
Heritage Mews is perfectly situated to enjoy a holiday in Stratford-upon-Avon. The historic town centre with its beautiful architecture and unique atmosphere is just a short stroll away. Visit nearby Holy Trinity Church (you can see the spire from the cottage), one of Britain's most beautiful parish churches on the banks of the River Avon, and see Shakespeare's grave - two or three minutes' walk from the cottage. From here there is a delightful riverside walk to the town centre, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Bancroft Gardens. Or walk into town along Old Town past Hall's Croft, Shakespeare's daughter's home, and down Church Street with its half-timbered buildings. Enjoy Stratford's excellent shopping, with galleries, antique centres and interesting independent shops as well as well-known high street stores. Stratford-upon-Avon offers a fantastic choice of places to eat out - award-winning restaurants, bistros, pubs, cafes, coffees shops and traditional tea rooms. Relax at one of the many coffee shops and cafes in the town or on the water front. Take in the atmosphere at the famous Dirty Duck inn with a terrace overlooking the river. Cross the river on an old pedestrian chain ferry, the last of its kind in Britain. Walk across the Old Tramway Bridge and visit the Butterfly Farm. Take a fun City Sightseeing bus tour, which includes Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery and Mary Arden's Farm in Wilmcote.
5 STAR SHORT BREAKS: Heritage Mews is perfect for a summer or out of season break. We offer flexible Short Breaks throughout the year (excluding Christmas and New Year). With fully controllable central heating, double glazing and luxurious carpets, the cottage is warm and welcoming whatever the weather. Enjoy Stratford-upon-Avon's wonderful Christmas Lights & Markets, with Heritage Mews beautifully decorated for the festive season - more details on our website.
PRIVATE OFF-STREET PARKING FOR TWO CARS: Heritage Mews has two private off-street car parking spaces - a real benefit in Stratford-upon-Avon where parking on the narrow streets is restricted and often in high demand. One parking space is through the gate at the end of the garden - convenient for unloading your car. The second space is in an adjacent courtyard. Enjoy the convenience of parking your cars safely within the private mews and explore this beautiful historic town on foot. All the famous sites and attractions, shops and restaurants are a short stroll away.
EXTENDED PARKING: Make the most of your holiday with our extended parking. Guests who would like to arrive early in Stratford to spend time in town can park one car at Heritage Mews from 11am on arrival day and check in later after 3pm. On departure day, having vacated by 10am, you can park one car until 2pm. Extended parking is subject to availability - please request in advance.
Located in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood, comfortably furnished, and beautifully equipped and maintained, this lovely property was ideal for our week's stay in Stratford-upon-Avon. Val and Simon had thought of everything you could need, and with fresh flowers throughout, good toiletries and a very nice welcome pack (which was much appreciated), we found everything very much to our liking. We enjoyed walks alongside the river and by the canal, with its long flight of locks, and we also loved just strolling around the town with its beautiful historical buildings and parkland - and all this within easy walking distance from the front door. The town has eateries galore to choose from if you want to dine out, and a good array of independent little shops, which is always nice to find these days. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful house with its colourful little garden, and will happily recommend it.
Sadly, we were only able to stay for a couple of nights, but we would certainly return for another visit. The house is small, but perfect for two or three people. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable. We stayed during a very cold spell of weather, but the house was cosy and warm and lovely to return to after a chilly walk. It is in a very quiet area of Stratford, only five minute's walk from the town centre, theatre and river.
I imagine the garden is lovely in summer - we'll have to come back to see!
The cottage is in a great location about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. It was spotlessly clean, with wonderful facilities and superb extra touches such as vases of roses, plentiful information pamphlets regarding things to see and do in the area, packets of tissues in the bedside cabinet drawers and a lovely welcome tray including a packet of delicious biscuits! We were warmly welcomed on our arrival by the owners - this is a real home-from-home and I would thoroughly recommend this property to everyone.
We have never expirienced a holiday home cleaner and better maintained than this. For us it was the perfect base to visit Stratford upon Avon and for exploring the Cotswolds. Our stay was too short however, so we'll have to come back!
We received a wonderful personal welcome from the owners. The house itself is superb; the fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard, it is immaculate and the owners' attention to detail is outstanding. Moreover, the house is in a perfect, quiet location, within easy walking distance of the centre of Stratford and all its attractions. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in Stratford; we had the most fantastic time.
The house is very class to the centre of Stratford Upon Avon (about 10/15 min walk to most of the main sites.) It was super clean with lots of really thoughtful touches: lovely snacks and tea/coffee/fresh milk we're waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend.
