5 Star cottage in a superb peaceful location in central Stratford-upon-Avon.

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Dec-2016
Luxury cottage with garden, parking and Wi-Fi in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town.

Heritage Mews is a beautifully appointed holiday home with Visit England 5 Stars and Gold Award for 'exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service'.

It is in an excellent peaceful location in Stratford-upon-Avon's Old Town, just a few minutes' walk to the town centre, restaurants, Shakespeare Houses and Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Close to Holy Trinity Church and the River Avon, you can enjoy delightful riverside walks into town or out into adjacent countryside.

The cottage is personally managed by the owners, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. There is Wi-Fi and private parking for two cars - a real benefit in Stratford town centre. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting-dining room opening onto an attractive private courtyard garden - perfect for summer outdoor dining and a delight in all seasons. Upstairs is a bathroom and two elegant bedrooms, a queen-size double and a single, both with luxurious Egyptian cotton linen.

Heritage Mews has a beautifully maintained private courtyard-style garden, furnished with table and chairs and perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. Planted for colour and interest throughout the seasons, it is a delight to look out onto at all times of the year. Visit our website for more photos - www.heritagemews.co.uk

Heritage Mews is perfectly situated to enjoy a holiday in Stratford-upon-Avon. The historic town centre with its beautiful architecture and unique atmosphere is just a short stroll away. Visit nearby Holy Trinity Church (you can see the spire from the cottage), one of Britain's most beautiful parish churches on the banks of the River Avon, and see Shakespeare's grave - two or three minutes' walk from the cottage. From here there is a delightful riverside walk to the town centre, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Bancroft Gardens. Or walk into town along Old Town past Hall's Croft, Shakespeare's daughter's home, and down Church Street with its half-timbered buildings. Enjoy Stratford's excellent shopping, with galleries, antique centres and interesting independent shops as well as well-known high street stores. Relax at one of the many coffee shops and cafes in the town or on the water front. Take in the atmosphere at the famous Dirty Duck inn with a terrace overlooking the river. Cross the river on an old pedestrian chain ferry, the last of its kind in Britain. Walk across the Old Tramway Bridge and visit the Butterfly Farm. Take a fun City Sightseeing bus tour, which includes Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery and Mary Arden's Farm in Wilmcote.

Stratford-upon-Avon offers a fantastic choice of places to eat out - award-winning restaurants, bistros, pubs, cafes, coffees shops and traditional tea rooms. Many have gardens or terraces or overlook the river. Guests staying at Heritage Mews can use our complimentary 'GASTRO CARD', saving money when eating out at many of Stratford's restaurants and pubs. You can go online and check out the special offers and discounts at participating restaurants in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area and mention the Gastro Card when you book. You will find more details on our website.

5 STAR SHORT BREAKS: Heritage Mews is perfect for an out of season break. We offer flexible Short Breaks from October to the end of April. With fully controllable central heating, double glazing and luxurious carpets, the cottage is warm and welcoming whatever the weather. PLEASE NOTE - Home Away automated quotes for stays of less than 7 nights are incorrect. Please see the notes below our availability calendar or visit our website for correct rental prices - www.heritagemews.co.uk

PRIVATE OFF-STREET PARKING FOR TWO CARS: Heritage Mews has two private off-street car parking spaces - a real benefit in Stratford-upon-Avon where parking on the narrow streets is restricted and often in high demand. One parking space is through the gate at the end of the garden - convenient for unloading your car. The second space is in an adjacent courtyard. Enjoy the convenience of parking your cars safely within the private mews and explore this beautiful historic town on foot. All the famous sites and attractions, shops and restaurants are a short stroll away.

EXTENDED PARKING: Make the most of your holiday with our extended parking. Guests who would like to arrive early in Stratford to spend time in town can park one car at Heritage Mews from 10.30am on arrival day and check in later after 3pm. On departure day, having vacated by 10am, you can park one car until 2.30pm. Extended parking is subject to availability. Please request in advance.

Perfect cottage, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is immaculately maintained, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are very helpful and met us on arrival to hand over the keys and give advise on the area. One of the best assets is its location, a flat 10min walk and you are either in the town centre or sat on the grass by the river outside the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. As others have mentioned we had fresh flowers in rooms and an excellent selection of refreshments on arrival.

We will be returning !!!!

A gem of a property.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have rented many holiday homes in the UK and although some descriptions proved too good to be true, this was certainly not the case at this house. It is an absolute gem - immaculate inside and out and superbly equipped, a delightful courtyard garden, and parking which can be accessed via latter. We rarely eat out preferring to support the local economy by shopping at farmers markets and at other local producers, to have a fully equipped kitchen was therefore a real bonus. Our thanks to Val and Simon for making up the bed with sheets and blankets. With so much to see and do in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area we very much hope we can return to this property.

Wonderful stay in a superb property

  • 5 of 5

The house was very well appointed, very clean and comfortable. There was a welcome tray, a wealth of information and the nice touch of fresh flowers in every room. The garden was very attractive although unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to sit out. On a fine day it would be perfect. The house is located in a very quiet area but close enough to the town for a gentle walk in on level ground. It has the advantage of two parking spaces. All in all it was the perfect home from home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and appreciated everything Heritage Mews has to offer, including the spring flowers in the courtyard garden; it makes what we do a pleasure. We enjoy maintaining the garden so there is colour and interest all year round. We hope you will perhaps return and with finer weather so you can enjoy sitting out in the garden too.

Lovely cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, immaculate cottage in perfect location for exploring Stratford. We were made extremely welcome and the tray of goodies was a lovely surprise. We enjoyed a three night stay here with our toddler and the highchair, stairgate and baby bowls etc meant we did not have to bring our own. Would highly recommend staying here, fresh flowers in each room was a lovely touch. Lots of useful info about things to do in area also. Fantastic. Thank you.

A little gem of a holiday rental

  • 5 of 5

The house is extremely clean and tidy and homely. The garden is pretty and very well looked after. Its facilities are of the highest standard and I was really surprised and happy to find a DAB radio in almost every room. The Christmas decorations, welcome card, wine and nibbles were a lovely treat. I would highly recommend a stay at The Mews.
