A newly renovated apartment within an historical Georgian townhouse

The property is located on Great King Street, one of the finest Georgian terraces in Edinburgh. It is a 5-10 minute walk from George Street and Princes Street where the best shops, restaurants and bars are located and the Castle is a 20 minute walk away. The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs) of a traditional townhouse. The accommodation comprises a living room, kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The superb living room has floor to ceiling windows, marble fireplace and decorative ceiling plasterwork has a large dining table, sofa bed, TV and DVD. The wonderful modern kitchen includes a dishwasher, electric oven and washing machine with built-in dryer. The main bathroom has a 'jacuzzi' bath and there is the second shower room off the master bedroom. The second bedroom overlooks the rear of the property with views to the north of the city and the third double bedroom (includes a single bed) faces the front of the building. Parking is available on request.

Absolutely fantastic!!!

The apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated. We were 5 adults and there was more than enough room for all of us. The location is about 15 minutes from the Royal Mile. The only hitch was that one of the sets of keys would stick and make getting in a bit of a pain. A very small thing! Would highly recommend the apartment and Francois as a host.

Spacious accommodation in good location

The apartment is very spacious with big lovely rooms, and had everything we needed. Very comfortable inside.

It is very convenient for a brisk 10 minute walk up to Princes Street or 15 minutes to the castle. Equally helpful is that it is a mere 5 minutes from Stockbridge and some very good restaurants, for people who prefer to mainly eat out like we do!

Our disappointment is that we weren't informed prior to our arrival about the house being boarded up on ground floor and basement giving a rather more derelict and less picturesque appearance outside. The builders were in every morning from 8am and could be rather noisy, certainly annoying on at least one morning. Therefore our rating is reduced accordingly.

A relaxing Christmas for our whole family

We completely enjoyed our stay here over Christmas this year! Francois met us as soon as we arrived in town and showed us around. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for all 5 of us to be together, watching movies, but also was large enough that we could get some quiet time alone as well. It was within walking distance of shopping, dining, and attractions. Also, because we stayed several nights and cooked in, we were pleased that two grocery markets were very close. I would rent this property again and I have recommended this to a friend that will be traveling to Edinburgh soon.

A well presented and equipped property

A good family time was had by all all of us who had travelled from New York. Bath and London to be together. It was good to meet Francois at the property on arrival as he could take us through everything we needed to know about the Flat, the environs and Edinburgh. We would recommend it for a stay just out of the bustle of central Edinburgh

Comfortable and convenient

A lovely flat in the New Town, conveniently located for shops and amenities, Francois welcomed us and showed us how everything worked which was a really nice start. The flat is well laid out and everything worked really well. There were four adults and two teenagers and a visit from our son who is at university - Francois provided a put up bed to accommodate him as soon as we arrived. We visited the nearby Botanic gardens and got the bus to HMS Brittania from around the corner. A lovely spacious and comfortable stay - thank you.

Lovely apartment handy for the city

Lovely apartment, fixtures fitting beds all very good. Well placed for the city only a walk away. The only negative was the constant problem with the Internet which in our case prevented accessing sky etc, other than that lovely and François very pleasant and helpful
