Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

This house was amazing. The location was really great as you have so much space for yard games and hanging out. Deb was great to work with and super accommodating on early check in.

I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to get away near Traverse City!

The photos truly don't due justice to the beauty and privacy that this property provides. Our group had a great time and would use you again. Definitely.

Thanks

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our group stayed over Labor Day weekend. Two families for a total of nine people. Kids range from 11 to 15. The layout of the house is pleasantly odd. There is a four bed "bunk room" in a small hallway leading to another queen bedroom. That little "wing" of the house worked out perfect for all 5 of the kids, and gave great separation between the kids and the adults. Even with 9 in the house, it never felt crowded at all. The main living area is nice and open, and the view out over the pond is very nice. Sauna worked great, spa was clean...in fact, everything was as clean as we could have hoped for. And we are finicky for sure!

Our trip was centered around the four wheelers and side by side we brought. There were nice trails throughout the property and some of the adjoining land. Had we wanted to hit the state trails, that would have been very convenient as well, but we actually just stayed around the house.

This house could easily sleep 10 without even having to have anyone share a bed. I am hoping I can put together a snowmobile trip this winter with a large group of guys. The house is so large it would be an ideal setup and no one would have to compromise their personal space!!! We certainly would recommend this home for many different types of trips...proximity to Traverse City for the shopping and wineries. Relaxing and not doing much at all. Snowmobiling or UTVs...whatever you want!

Nice property, nice owners, private, quiet

  • 5 of 5

We did a family vacation with our daughters and their families. The property was clean and well supplied. The grounds around the house were well maintained. We have done other family vacations and are always running to the store as soon as we got there for paper products, shampoo. linens, etc, but not here as the closets were well stocked. They even had the fire pit ready for the kids to roast marsh mellows and make s'mores which they even supplied! The kids enjoyed fishing in the fishing pond which provided daily fun for them. The grandkids loved playing with the frogs. We enjoyed walks on the nature trails through the woods which we were even able to take our special needs grandson in his chair as they had a maintained trail. We did multiple day trips to places like the magnificent Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park which is a must see attraction. The girls really enjoyed the relaxation this vacation location provided. We played horse shoes, volleyball etc all as a family. The nice deck had plenty of seating and we enjoyed our evenings sitting there and chatting. We had several nice meals in surrounding towns but also enjoyed home cooked meals. The girls were amazed at how reasonable food prices were at the local market. One meal was a sampling of fish meats from the local fish market! Any questions were quickly answered by the owners. While one daughter really loves the beach, she actually ranked this vacation as one of the best we have done.

Beautiful forest lodge nestled in the snow covered pines

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful wonderful property. We were there in December and Deb and Trevor made us feel like royalty. The great room space so cozy. I was able to host a family birthday with 12 around the table! The quirky layout made this home away from home even better. Trevor and Deb cleared the walks every day and looked after our every need. We have a son in the area and we will definitely come back! It sleeps 16, do great for large family.

The Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have used VRBO to rent homes for several years; this was our best experience. Forest Lodge is a wonderful house, that really does resemble a lodge with it's wood paneling and open space that is nestled in a beautiful setting in the woods. It has a fantastic view of an expansive and gorgeous outdoor yard and pond where our kids explored and threw a football around. The home is big enough to fit lots of people (we have a family of 6, and had some friends visit as well) comfortably. We loved sitting on the deck, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, watching our kids and our dog enjoy the lovely outdoor space. The home is 30 minutes from Traverse City, and an hour from the Sleeping Bear Dunes - another beautiful drive and a must-see. Deb was wonderful too; she was welcoming, provided many ideas for our family when we had questions about the best attractions for us in our short time there. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We were only there for 3 nights, but hope to return for a longer stay in 2017!
