Fantastic luxury venue for all ages
This house is the perfect venue for a get together and suitable for all ages - our party ranged from 3 to 80 years old. Not only are the fixtures and fittings top quality, the owner has thought of every possible gadget you could need and more! The open layout downstairs makes for a huge area for socialising and adds to the "chill out" atmosphere. The flexibility of the bedrooms with the en-suite facilities ensures that everyone has their own space as well. The children's bedroom is a treat with so many toy boxes our 3 didn't know where to start, not to mention all the Wii, DVDs, books and magazines available. (Although advertised, there is no longer a Playstation.) We had Asda deliver all our groceries which worked perfectly and we used the recommended caterer who was just lovely. The only negative is the rough track access leading up to the house - if you have a low-profile car you have be really careful here but this is truly the only minus for this fabulous accommodation in a spectacular setting.
A good stay in a lovely house. It has a 'lived in' feel which worked for our stay, which included a mix of young kids and dogs. It seems to be largely used by hen parties so has a healthy 'worn in' element to it. Fine for what we needed but I would have been disappointed if it had been for a special occasion such as a wedding.
Remote location but pretty close to Auchterader and Gleneagles. Swimming pool was a little cool but still a nice touch.
Very difficult and painful booking process. Endless emails from various sources - not client friendly. Late check in (5pm) and early check out means your time is extra limited. Main criticism is no customer focus or flexibility in the process - eg no option to have an online shop delivered for our arrival. Client service doesn't compare to the likes of Unique home stays or Sheepskin.
Also CCTV in the rooms was a surprise and felt an intrusion on our privacy. Not something I've come across before at a holiday house!
But lovely stay in a special location in a lovely house. Pretty spot on for what we needed - just a shame about the customer service!
Alexander House was a great venue for our extended family celebration and we had a memorable weekend there. Our guests were all very impressed with their comfortable bedrooms and the great range of facilities.
We loved the kitchen / dining area and spent most time in there and at the tables outside. The views are amazing and our children could play very safely in the large garden in view of the adults.
We enjoyed using the swimming pool, hot tub, games room and table football. The children loved the toy boxes and used the DVDs and the games too.
This house is well proportioned and perfect for a family group of mixed ages but would be equally suitable for a group of adults! I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
Stunning house, quality of things is excellent and thought of every essential needed.. It has The most amazing views, huge rooms and exceptionally clean. Had the most amazing hen weekend would love to return to the house would highly recommend.
Alexander house Stay
On arrival at the house the chimney was in a mess with a lot of the debris lying at the entrance of the house. I was not informed of this and it was not a good first impression. Also there were a few things in the house like a cracked bath panel and just things that needed fixed that to me should have been done if it's 5star.
However we did have a fantastic stay. Everything you needed was there and the views were simply breathtaking. It was so relaxing and the hot tub and outdoor pool went down a storm. Along with the massive games room! It was spotless as well and the beds were very comfy. Would be good to see them maintaining the inside however.
A weekend to remember
Just returned from the most unforgettable weekend at Alexander House with our friends celebrating mine and my husband's 40th birthday's. The House is just stunning, and the views even more so. The facilities within the house are fantastic as is the swimming pool and hot tub. Would highly recommend staying here whether it's a gathering of friends or family.
