The Space

It is a 2 storey house (upper and main floor) with restricted access to basement. If you book for 3 or more guests, the entire upper and main floor will be reserved for private use by the guests for their entire stay. If you book for 1 or 2 guests, the entire upper floor will be still reserved for exclusive use by the guests for their entire stay but the main floor will be shared. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the upper floor. There are living room family room, kitchen, dinning room, nook, bath, and laundry room on the main floor. Office on the main floor is out of bounds (locked). Max 2 guests per room are preferred. Only one party of size 1 to 6 guests will be booked at any given time. Any remaining bedrooms will be kept vacant during your stay. 1st bed room comes with a king bed, walk in closet, and en-suite bath. 2nd bed room has a queen bed and walk in closet. 3rd bed room has a queen bed and walk in closet. Access to basement is restricted unless guests request to use shared exercise room (gym) located in the basement. The basement has a locked entrance from inside as well as from outside of the house.

Guest Access

Arrangements will be made to provide house key and alarm key to the guest. Enter through the front main door and turn the alarm off by pressing the unlock button on the alarm panel and entering the security code when prompted. Alarm panel is located in the coat closet by the front door. Park your vehicle on the drive way. Open the garage from inside the house by pressing the wall mounted pad located on outside of the door. You may park inside the garage or outside on the driveway. When leaving, move the car outside. Go back inside the house. Close the garage roll up door using inside wall mounted pad. Turn the alarm on by pressing lock button on the alarm panel and leave thru the front door within 30 seconds. Please note that even garage roll up door is connected to the alarm system and so this door, along with all other doors and windows, must be closed before turning alarm on.

Interaction with Guests

The Neighbourhood

Very quiet neighbourhood/cul-de-sac. Open space in the front and at the back.

Getting Around

Take bus route # 93, 94 or 454 to the nearest train station. Bus stop for route 94 and 454 is near the Signal Hill public library . Library is at about 4 minute walking distance from the house. Nearest train station is called 69 street. Ask for a transfer chit from bus driver. Transfer is valid for train ride as well. Train ticket is also valid on the bus. Go to Calgary transit web site for more details (URL HIDDEN) From airport, take bus # 100 to McKnight station and then LRT train (202 South) to 69 street station. From 69 street station, take bus route 94S East to Library or 93S East to near the Library. Trains and buses usually run every 15 minutes during weekdays. Buses usually run every 30 minutes on the week ends or during non rush hours on week days. For Calgary Tower, get off at or near Centre street station. Train service is free in the down town core. See downtown core map in the train car. The ski resorts Nakiska , Sunshine, Norquay, and Lake Louise are on Highway 1 west. Check maps or ski resort websites for details. Nakiska is about 1 hour drive, Sunshine and Norquay is about 1 hour 15 minutes and LakeLousie is about 1 hour 45 minutes drive. Cheaper lift tickets are available at AMA or Costco store for Sunshine and LakeLouise. Both AMA and Costco require membership. There are hundreds of summer and winter hikes in Bragg Creek / Canmore / Kananaskis area. You can also join meet up groups to mingle and hike with the local Calgarians. Guests can use laundry facility for a honesty payment of $5 per use of washer or dryer.

House Rules

No smoking, Not suitable for pets, No parties or events, Check-in is after 3PM

No 3rd party bookings. Please show ID for verification when requested by the host. Do not disturb the neighbors. Take outdoor shoes off at the main entrance and put them in boot tray. Please assume that this is your own house and is, just, being managed by me. The following must be observed at all times---No Pets, No Smoking, No drugs, No local friends, No partying, No new acquaintances. Moderate consumption of liquor/wine/beer is acceptable. Use of exercise equipment in the basement is restricted to adults, unless supervised by parents. Guests must be aware of their physical limits and how they relate to these activities. Guests also agree and signify that they take full responsibility for their own safety.

An elegant, well furnished home in a quiet residential neighbourhood

My elderly parents, my adult sister and I needed a place with 3 bedrooms in SW Calgary as we were visiting my uncle. We only needed one night before we continued on our travels. The home is beautiful, very spacious, spotless, and surpassed our expectations! Paul, the owner, was exceptionally responsive and a total pro to work with. I highly recommend this property if the SW location in the city works for you, and you have a family or are a pair of couples or a few guys on a buddies trip. It is close to highways and you'd be only an hour's drive to Banff and Kananaskis. There is also a lot of shopping, groceries, and restaurants a short drive away.

Very clean and quiet

Our family of 4 (including our 5 and 7 year old) stayed here for one night. It had everything a person needs and the extra drinks and fresh ground coffee was a nice touch. The house is very spacious, clean, quiet and in a convenient location. We loved staying here and we would definitely stay again. Thanks Paul!
