Lovely new 2 bed/1 bathroom apartment on the ridge looking across the lawns to the beach and ocean, just a 3 minute walk. Small kitchen, dining area and living room and a large outside porch overlooking the lawns and gardens to eat your meals of read and just relax. Quiet and peaceful location just a 30 minute drive from the Freeport International Airport. Beautiful beach with great swimming and snorkeling, you can walk the beach for miles and maybe not see anyone. New pool and we are in the process of adding a bar and grill.

An absolute family favourite

This was our second visit to The Beach Cottage at Hideaway and it was just perfect. We could not have asked for better weather and the beach was incredible. We used the provided kayaks to explore the grasses and reefs. So many colorful fish to watch, Especially around the entrance of the fresh water cave. It is easy to find as the fresh water rises out of the ground causing a disturbance on the surface of the water.

The property is gorgeous and the owners have done a lot of work in the last year or so since our last visit. I actually find that to be part of the attraction of hideaway beach. Watching it grow and evolve, But in a slow and steady progress which shows the passion the owners must have for the place. The same could be said for the people of Grand Bahama. They are so friendly and welcoming. Hideaways resident Bahamian, James, was so happy to see us again and even did a lovely fish dinner for us with fresh snapper on our first night. He oversaw our arrival and then went on his way. We saw him daily, Working on the property doing DIY and landscaping etc. Any queries and he went out of his way to assist.

We took a trip to Port Luacaya a couple of times which is a wonderful and vibrant place. The bars and restaurants are excellent and good value for money. There is also live entertainment in the square a few nights. We had a hire car on this trip as we wanted to explore the island. This was organised by Liz on request.

We have already booked again for next year and are even considering purchasing an apartment as an investment to share with the rest of the family. After all there is nowhere better and Liz has even offered us a discount as we are repeat visitors. Could not ask for more.
