Interesting Place To Stay

  • 4 of 5

This is like a really old house that is extremely clean. The floors are slanted as are the walls and the stares. It makes an interesting challenge if you had a drink or two. (LOL) The only downfalls were no closet space, dressers or tables to place things on in the bedrooms. If you plan to stay longer than a 3 days, you are literally going to have to live out of your suitcases. The GOOD. Clean,There are hanging things in the rooms for some clothing. The kitchen with all of the amenities one could ask for and laundry room. Ample parking 6 plus cars or 4 truck with boats. Great communicator once you make contact with the owner. Had a great time for the week. Recommendation is to add a small dresser to each room and or place coffee or end tables in the rooms. Thanks

All the comforts of home!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is clean and spacious. The creaky, narrow staircase and old doors reminded me of Greenfield Village and I appreciated the "antiqueness" for this reason. It was adequately furnished for our family of 6. The owner responded quickly although I did not have any real concerns/issues. I just wanted to make her aware of a couple things and she was kindly receptive. My favorite things were the Keurig coffee maker, the decor, and the private location. Such an old home of course could be updated all day long but what the owner has done with it so far suited our family's needs just fine.

Nice, quiet area!

  • 4 of 5

First time staying in Muskegon. We loved the area, & the house was just right for our family.

It could use some minor things done to it. Each bedroom could use more space to hang clothes & one of the bedrooms did not even have a door knob on the door. Also, there could of been more toilet paper supplied for 6 people than just 2 rolls. Plenty of towels, wash clothes, & linens. Also, adequate amount of supplies for the kitchen.

We loved having the beach just right up the road from the house & easy access to downtown Muskegon. Overall a great stay!

An old bongalow being fixed up by the owner; in rough shape.

  • 2 of 5

This place needs a lot of work and really isn't ready to rent yet. There's places where the carpet has been laid over loose of missing floor boards and it feels like your foot may go through. In one of the upstairs bedrooms there is an area where the roof leaks when it rains. We ran fans to dissipate the mold smell. The mattresses are hard and cheap. In the living room the cords and cables for the TV box and router are just laying on the floor. The kitchen is poorly equipped. We left a list of stuff that needs to be added so you can prepare a meal. Our son rented a house a block away that's on the lake, has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and is nicely redone. He paid the same per night that we did. The house is in a pretty quiet area and the property is large enough so you're not on top of the neighbors. Overall, OK for a few days, but glad to be home.

Owner's Response: It's a 1930's cottage. It specifically says in the description that the property is older and isn't perfect. Do you homework next time instead of posting such a horrible review. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but lying isn't necessary. There was a leak in a closet over a year ago. It didn't rain during your stay so its slanderous to state that it leaks every time is rains. And there absolutely isn't a mold smell. There is no mold in the home. Your list was ridiculous. You listed things that are in the cottage. Maybe you should have looked harder. Had you messaged me about things you needed, we gladly would have provided them.
