"We experienced such wonderful hospitality for the second time around. The house looks great, is comfy and relaxing. In the two short days we were here, we attended an amazing Stevie Nicks concert at the Amway Center then enjoyed a leisurely walk back via “World of Beer” for a late-night snack. We ate lunch at Dexter’s, lounged on Cassie’s lovely front porch for an afternoon and learned about the history of Thornton Park, went to a movie and then enjoyed dinner at “Dragonfly Robata Grill”. Great food by the way. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We finished the evening relaxing in the living room. To wrap up our stay we went to Dexter’s for breakfast. As always, meals at Dexter’s are excellent. A little more front porch relaxation and then time to head out and get back to the real world. We had a wonderful relaxing time at Cassie’s Boho Bungalo and give her top a notch recommendation." Vicki

My husband, my parents, and I stayed in this absolutely lovely and charming home when we came to Orlando to attend a wedding. It was the perfect place to stay in a beautiful neighborhood where everyone was friendly and welcoming. We loved sitting on the front porch in the morning sun and in the evenings under the soft glow of the café lights she has up. The fact that she stocked the kitchen with tons of snacks, water bottles, and coffee for us made us feel very welcomed and right at home. Cassie was more than helpful with everything and was always available via text for whatever we needed. Her home is stunning and we hope to be able to return again soon. We would definitely recommend this one!!!

Cassie wins host of the year! She was a fantastic host: assisted with local transportation, checked me in and gave me a run down of the place, was clear and friendly. Sure beats the finest hotel customer service you'd ever fine! What a pleasure. True little gem tucked away in a great neighborhood.

What makes this bungalow unique

Je t'aime ma quartier! Historic district with brick streets, oak canopies, shopping, dining, parks, playgrounds and entertainment venues. This is the place to experience Orlando like a local! Walk to Burton's for a beer and a game of pool or darts; croissant au chocolat at Benjamin French Bakery, Graffiti Junktion for a juicy, blackened Mahi sandwich; 7-11 for a six-pack; or experience the swans on a romatic stroll around Lake Eola.

The 2nd Thursday of every month, the best crowd gathers for the Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine + Art Walk.

Every Sunday, the Orlando Farmers Market is much more than your traditional farmers market. Bringing the best in fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, gifts, jewelry, plants and more.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Cassie met us at the house upon arrival and was extremely helpful. She made herself available throughout our stay and was a great help with recommendations in the neighborhood. The house was clean, spacious and had all the comforts of home. Everything you could possibly want to do was within walking distance of the house. Bars, restaurants, nightlife, and a great park, Lake Eola Park, were mere blocks away. We look forward to staying here next time we are in Orlando and would recommend it to anyone. We normally don't stay at Airbnb's without reviews but are so glad we decided to do so. Great experience all around. Try Anthony's Pizza and the Beach Bar.

Convenient, Charming, Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Cassie's home went above and beyond our expectations! Check in/Check Out was convenient, as was our communications with Cassie. She was always prompt to answer any questions! The location of the house was exactly what we were looking for; quiet neighborhood but only a quick drive (or beautiful walk) to get to Lake Eola and Downtown Orlando. Would highly recommend!

Literally "Home Away from Home"

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful Bungalow house has everything you can possibly think of to create a very homey feel. It's in a quiet neighborhood with cobblestone streets. It is close to downtown Orlando and an easy 20 minute ride to Disney World. The owner, Cassie, communicates immediately with you if you need anything. I highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable place to stay in Thornton Park District

  • 4 of 5

This is a well maintained older two bedroom bungalow in the Thornton Park District of Orlando. The streets are cobblestone, with a number of small cafes, eateries, and plenty of lakes and other places for walking. The house is very nicely laid out and comes complete with everything you need for a nice stay. The owner communicates very well and in a timely manner via email. We made very little use of the kitchen, but if we had wanted to, everything was there to allow you to prepare and cook meals. The owner has documented various idiosyncrasies of an older home, and it would be good to familiarize yourself with those. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

Thorton Park bungalow review

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and well equipped. Our favorite part of the house was the front porch. We spent a lot of time on that beautiful porch. Being able to walk to Eola Lake, the grocery store and downtown restaurants was a treat. Overall, I would rate the stay as excellent.

A wonderful home to relax in

  • 5 of 5

I was warmly welcomed by the owner and shown the features and eccentricities of the property. My stay was quiet and peaceful. The location provided me with the ability to walk to restaurants and downtown venues. It is nice to not have to drive everywhere. I hope this bungalow is available the next time I am in town.

If you are looking for a diverse, dynamic and engaging live-work-play center, Downtown Orlando offers that and more. Removed from the tourist and theme park areas of Disney and Universal that comprise much of the southern half of the city, emerges a vibrant and energetic lifestyle. Downtown Orlando boasts the largest urban center in Central Florida and consists of five major enclaves: Uptown, Lake Eola Heights, Thornton Park, Parramore and the Central Business District. While the daytime population is north of 65,000, approximately 44,000 residents live, work and play in the 18 Downtown Orlando neighborhoods filled with residential and commercial high-rises and mid-rises; historic bungalows, ranches and estates; local, state and federal government offices; sports facilities; performing arts theaters; art galleries; a movie theater; retail; nightclubs and parks.

Following on the heels of the North American architecture and urban planning reform philosophy, popular at the turn of the century to introduce beautification and monumental grandeur, Downtown Orlando embraced the City Beautiful Movement by public vote in 1908 adopting the aptly named slogan, “The City Beautiful”. Serving as the city’s unofficial symbol while promoting the philosophical belief that beautification could both increase life quality and promote harmonious social order, the Fountain at Lake Eola was installed four years later. While Downtown Orlando has merged into a contemporary hub architecturally speaking, its philosophical and historical sentiment remain strongly rooted with the 2013 installation of eight See Art Orlando sculptures flanking Lake Eola Park. While Orlando proper is considered a major city, Downtown Orlando residents describe its eclectic vibe as that of a magnanimous town, attributing much of its hometown feel to its walkability. Particularly, that of its beloved epicenter, and home to numerous festivals, parades and high-profile charity events, is Lake Eola Park.

It is because of the aesthetic blending of both the historic and the contemporary, the merging of the eclectic and diverse, that advocates and lovers have made Downtown Orlando one of the most sought after and desirable places to live in Central Florida.
