About Bruce or Pam

We purchased this home in 2011 and have enjoyed it several times ourselves. Summer and fall is one of our favorite times of the year since the traffic is less and water at the gulf and pool is warm. Usually no wait for dinning at one of the many restaurants.

Bruce or Pam purchased this house in 2011

Why Bruce or Pam chose Pelican

If you love to be around water, this place and city is the place to be. Cape Coral is the boating capitol of the world. It's great to wake up looking at the water out the window or just hanging out by the pool. Lots of places to see and many first class unique restaurants.

What makes this house unique

We just love to be by the pool, and lani to enjoy our meals and sunsets. Having access to the boat and all of the water ways is really fun too. So many beach's to boat to and places to eat. We almost always see dolphins when we go out with the boat.

Lovely home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with my son and his wife and their 2 children ages 3 and 6. The house was the perfect size for us, with 2 bedrooms and a bath at one end of the house and the master suite at the other end. The children’s room had just one bed, queen size I think, but there was an extra mattress so we were able to put that on the floor so the 2 boys could have separate beds. All of the beds are unusually high, which wasn’t a problem for us, but could be an issue for elderly people or those suffering from arthritis. Our bed was very comfortable. The pool is large and heated and there are several “noodles” available for the kids to play with. The kitchen is well equipped. There are quite a few spices/seasonings available in one of the cabinets. We had to buy our own toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, and garbage bags - but you should probably check the house before going to the grocery store as perhaps sometimes the previous renters leave these items stocked. The bikes were in good shape and it was wonderful to have these available as the Publix is less than a mile away, and there is a great little park (Camelot Park) also within a mile. Camelot Park has a playground and tennis and pickle ball courts. And we saw a burrowing owl there! I’d also like to recommend Fellowship Park in Cape Coral for families with children. Great playground and all of the play areas are screened from the sun with large triangles of parachute cloth! And they have a splash pad! Although it is owned by a church, it is open to the public. I’d also like to add that the owners of this property are VERY responsive to questions and concerns; I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to meet them as they seem very nice.

Owner's Response: We are glad you were able to discover the local parks for the kids. Our grandchildren love going to them as well. We enjoy playing pickle ball while the kids play on the structures. I hope you were able to experience the many fine restaurants nearby to. We wish you the best in your future vacations.

Best one yet :O)

  • 5 of 5

Where shall I start, we have stayed in the area four times so far and this is the best one yet in this price range...OK let's start outside.... the view is fabulous, pink sunsets over palm trees, jumping fish in the canal and piece and quiet, early morning coffee sitting on the dock listening to.... the silence, other than bird songs and the sort of croaking lizards. Daytime maybe one boat cruising past, evenings eating on the raised outside dining area watching the sun go down before the final swim: Now here is major plus... the pool is 23m x 5m and you can swim in it!! some of the pools we have experienced have been too small or kidney shaped but not this one and the kids loved it. The dock had a really nice looking boat, which is available to hire at a rate of $20 dollars a day less than the others we could find, but sadly our budget didn't stretch to this, this year (£/$ rate rubbish!!) OK onto the inside... The lounge is a great size and the sound system which pipes music to every room is a real boon. Although we rarely spent a lot of time inside because of the great weather (although we did experience a few fantastic light shows with the electric storms) The Kitchen has everything you would need, coffee machine, dishwasher, large US fridge and reasonable size freezer with on-tap ice machine. Bedroom 1 is fantastic huge his/hers en-suite huge bathroom, dressing room and chaise-long in the ante-room overlooking the pool. We could have done with a stepladder to get up on the bed as the mattress is very thick (and very comfortable). Bed 2 and 3 are a very good size with very comfy beds and a lot of storage space. Having Publix supermarket at the top of the road (500m) was great. The whole process of booking etc was very smooth and Bruce (the owner) responded very quickly to questions we had prior to our arrival. Also the Villa manager was very helpful when we couldn't find the WiFi code (it was there, we just had to look!) Overall I would strongly recommend the villa, great location, very comfortable and good value.... Give it a go, you won;t be disappointed. (Only thing we could have done with is a washing line - had to rig one up in the garage)

We loved the house

  • 5 of 5

Everything was great. The location on the canals was very nice. They have a dock with chairs to sit on the dock. The pool was a perfect size; not just for wading but for swimming. It was a short walk to Cape Harbor where you find restaurants and boat rentals. The house is as nice as the pictures.

Nice and relaxing in a very quiet neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

It's a very nice place, nice everything all in all. A quiet area but still just a stones throw from Ft Myers beach or Sanibel/Captiva islands. We've done the vrbo vacation 3 times now and while this was the nicest house it was lacking in one area and I can't think of the word. There was no extra TP, ok fine, no garbage bags, again ok fine, a very minimal spice selection for cooking and absolutely nothing in the fridge for condiments for cooking. The other 2 houses had left overs from other families that were left for the next group, a pay it forward kind of thing. I get it though, you can't stock the place for the guests so if you're renting here know ahead of time to grab some stuff from home maybe rather than spend vacation time running to Publix for weird incidental stuff. I'd still recommend this place in a heartbeat. Had a great stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words about our house. We really love that area as well. Being close to Cape Harbor has always been a plus. Thank you also for the suggestions on the condiments and such. We will take note on that and try to stick some of the spices and items that you mentioned in the cupboards. For the left over condiments in the fridge, we for health and regulations aren't allowed to keep opened and used items in there. Having Publix just down the road is a very handy way to get the items that would be needed. Thanks much for your stay and we hope to see you again. Bruce & Pam

We stayed there for 5 nights and we got married in the side yard of the house. Everything was beautiful, the view, the house. We had a wonderful time and would love to go back again. Bruce was very kind and very easy to work with. We will definitely rent it again.
