Exciting stay

  • 5 of 5

After watching photos and reading Reviews my family expectations were so high that I never thought they could be overtaken. In fact this is exactly what happened. Two weeks stay, mid July, 5 of us (we also used the annex double bedroom dependance, so we had a comfortable 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms accomodation). What we found was a simple but nice, well-equipped (overall the kitchen) and functional house, perfect for our needs. The two external terrace were magnificent, overall the lateral one, repared and completely hidden/private, where we had all our meals always using the large barbecue and real wood. Working on the barbecue (my passion) and watch the sunset in the front sea was unique. Seaview from the whole house was magnificent too, overall from the 3 bedrooms: what a pleasure open the shelters in the morning and see the blue!

The few times we decided to stay home we spent our time on the terrace, between sun and shadow, in the quietness, it was really agreable and relaxing. The location is wonderful: extremely quiet, in the green, at the end of a small road and over a stretch of untouched beautiful coast. Access to the sea through a rather steep path but reward was priceless, a lonely pebble beach (small comfortable stones) that could be reached just by boat or on foot. It was named La Cala and we absolutely loved it. Its colours, its variety (both out and underwater), its still wild looking were exceptionals. We also discovered La Fontina, a small hidden bay just below the house with an incredible underwater life.

We also rented a motorboat in Sant’Andrea and visited the whole coast.

This was our fourth visit to Elba, always in different locations: we can say this was the best, the most genuine and beautiful part of the Island and the best accomodation too.

Bakery and small market in La Zanca (5 min by car), fresh fish every morning at Marciana village (small truck of local fishermen), sweet beneficial water at the free fount of Napoleone (between Marciana and Poccio villages). Discover all this was exiting, as well as our whole stay. We will surely come back again in the future.

Definiteley suggested.

Great seaview and barbecue deep in quiet nature

  • 5 of 5

Group of 6 adults (3 couples) living in a large crowded town, looking for a paceful, lonely and natural place. Due to its position and its laypout this house was our choice. Position is perfect, a corner of paradise fixed over time, an ancient farmer site with few houses scattered on a sweet wooden hill in front of the sea. No car passage, no noisy neighbors, just birds singing for us all day long. The accomodation, Casa Sant’Anna, was great: we choosed to rent its dependance too, a lovely double bedroom with its own bathroom and shower just behind the house, separated entrance but part of the same complex. This way we had three double bedrooms and three bathrooms, just perfect. The kitchen is functional, fully equipped and everything (dishes, glasses, seats, cockery, pots) is plenty. The house itself is nice and well mantained. In the two weeks of our stay we had long charming trekking through paths around the house (the Owner told us that until the 60s ther was no road deserving the area so everybody moved on foot through ancient paths) discovedring lot of lonely beautiful beaches as La Cala (the main beach behind the houses), Ripa Barata (quiet long walk but it’s worth), La Fontina (there is no beach, just flat rocks. We also explored the coast with kayaks (rented in Sant’Andrea from Daniele) and it was a great experience. When home we spent all our time in the comfortable lateral terrace, both restind and having meals. Despite to magnificent seaview what I personally loved most was the large stone barbecue where I cooked and grilled meat and fish quiet every night, using real wood: for a BBQ enthusiast as I am it was the best. Finally everybody was satisfied: we had sea, mountains, woods, history, outdoor living, charming sunshines and spectacular food. We will definitely be back next year.

Fantastic August holidays

  • 5 of 5

Summer holidays with my family. We love nature and sea so we decided for Elba and then for this property and place. Due to the fact that it is in full Natural Park and there are really few structures/bulidings we were told by the Owner it was the only part of the Island where quietness could be found, also in August. Well he was absolutely right. We found a lovely natural and quiet place with magnific sea and nature. No car passage, just few nighbours, lonely beaches u could reach just on foot or by boat. My family really loved to explore them. We warmly suggest La Cala beach in the morning, overall with south wind (it seems a lake, wonderful snorkeling), Ripa Barata in the afternoon (sunshine in front). Many suggestive good spots where we could fish (me and my older son are fan of fishing). We also had beautiful walkings through the paths starting from the house (it is a path crossover). The house, Casa Sant’Anna, is perfect for such kind of paceful holiday. It has lot of external private areas, we had every meal outdoor and overall we always had the sea in front of us: from bedroom’s windows (opening shutters in the morning and find the sea was great) from the terrace and everywhere we moved. Inside the house is good featured, well equipped (overall kitchen) and we found it perfectly cleaned. Nothing to complain, everything working. Suggestion: make drinkable water at free Fonte Napoleone (between Marciana and Poggio) it is a really good and healty water. Finally we had a great family holiday: my sons enjoyed freedom, my wife was tanned and I fished enough. Everybody satisfied.

Sea and silence, wonderful outdoor living

  • 5 of 5

Wondering how I could better describe this property and its location, my testimony maybe add value but nothing new to previous Reviews. I just can say that everything I read was true and me and my family had fantastic summer holidays. Anyone looking for a peaceful and still uncorrupted natural spot would be delighted by this place, by its calmness and silence. We really much enjoyed to follow the ancient paths crossing the area and discover lonely beaches, savage coast bites or just the campaign and woods around.

Every day was full of discoveries: me, my wife, our 2 sons and overall our dog (they all 3 could wander in the area alone with no danger) really appreciated the variety of places and landscapes. In 2 weeks stay we used our car just for shopping and for a couple of dinners.

Despite the beautiful place such high pleasure would not have been not be possible without an equally high level accomodation. Casa Sant’Anna is a perfect compromise between comfort and ease: a good and fully equipped kitchen (we appreciated new staffs, coffee machine and toaster for our breakfasts) a beautiful seaview terrace with a large stone barbecue table, benches and sun-beds. Even if the internal dining area was comfortable and attractive we had all our meals outdoor, no one was left (magnific weather helped on this), looking at the sea and sunshines on it, just in front. We had barbecue with real scented wood, kindly supplied by the Owner (for free). House’s features and furnitures are not de luxe but really good anyway and overall comfortable.

What we much appreciated were “cotto” floors and the enchanting sea view from bedroom’s windows. My family final liking (dog included) was the highest I could hope and this is what really let me happy. We will definitely come back to this magnificent place.

Highly recommended.

Delighted

  • 5 of 5

We were 5, me my wife and our 3 childs. It was our third time in Elba but we didn’t know this part of the Island. As the Owner said us it is the most natural, still incorrupted place of the Island, quiet and paceful, in August too. We found what we looked for, a paceful and natural place for our family holidays. We loved to walk through the forests surrounding our accomodation and discover small beautiful and lonely beaches as La Cala, Fontine, Ripa Barato. I personally am a fisher as my older child too (he is 15 now) and loved to find uncorrupted sites where we had great fishing. Our childs were free to go everywhere alone (except our too young daughter Caroline) and really appreciated it (we did too!). No car passage, no risks. We stayed in the second house of Andrea (the Owner), named La Scuola (The School) as in the 50’s, when there was no roads (just paths) it was used as elementary schoool for the few childs (5-6 I guess) living there. It is a really nice house, perfectly appointed and fully equipped, absolutely correspondent. The living is comfortable but a bit small for 5 but we always used the beautiful seaview roofed terrace in front to have all our meals on a nice marble table. Overall by night it was agreable and comfortable (just in front means it was easy to cook inside and have meals outside). The seaview is great, a bit covered on the left by an old lower (the place is on a light hillside) and uninhabited house roof but it is great anyway. Seaview also form the kitchen and living window and everywhere you move we had a great lookout over the beautiful sea in front. We also had a nice barbecue where we grilled meat and fish. Also a nice external shower really appreciated when back by our explorations. We parked our car just 2 meters from the entrance, lateral side, really comfortable. Our childs loved to sleep all toghether on the mezzanine under the roof and we loved the nice main double bedroom with comfortable bed. Kitchen is fully equipped also with microwaves, coffee machine and good cooking staffs. During our explorations we had the chance to see lot of wild animals as muflons, wild porks, martens, incredible butterflies, hawks, a woodpaker and an hoopoo just behind the house. Snorkeling was incredible too, everywere but at La Cala was the top. Our childs Our childs were delighted, my wife was satisfied and so I was. Deifinitely recommended to all nature sport and quietness lovers.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Family of 4, wonderful 2 weeks stay in July.

After a quick and pleasant deal with the Owner (Andrea) we booked this property.

Due to excelent reviews our expectation on the house and place was really high.

Well, I must say it was even exceeded (not easy at all).

Everything we read about this property and the place was absolutely true.

Also the advert was absolutely corresponding to what we found.

The house itself was perfect: spacious, perfectly cleaned, fully equipped (we also found, and really appreciated microwaves, american coffee maker, new cookware set, etc...).

It is on 2 floors, living and kitchen on the first, sleeping on the second: what was really unexpected was the magnificent seaview from both bedroom’s windows.

We really loved to wake up in the morning with just birds singing, open the shutters and find a great blue sea in front of us. My wife and my sons were absolutely delighted by this.

As well as having our meals on the large lateral (private) terrace, intensely using the comfortable stone barbecue with real wood (kindly supplied by the Owner with no additional costs!), looking at the sunshien just on the sea in front of us.

Everything about this property and place has already been written by previous reviews, I just can confirm that everything is absolutely corresponding to what we found, even better.

House is fantastic place is magnific (natural, quiet, beautiful).

Other tip: when we arrived we found a bottle of fresh water as well as a bottle of really good white sparkling real Italian wine in the fridge (the Owner told us he owns a small family-run winery in Trevise area). We were told it was a welcome gift and we used it to toast to our beautiful holiday beginning.

Just perfect

On the coast between Marciana Marina and S. Andrea, 100m over the front sea (magnificent lookout), mountains and forests behind, in a peaceful and bucolic context. Under the villa (10 minutes walk) is a well known only on foot (or by boat) accessible beach. Many other beautiful beaches can be reached starting from the villa with a nice walking through the typical Mediterranean vegetation.

The location is also the ideal starting point for the superb trekking you can practice trough forests valley and mountains behind the house and for visiting old medieval villages of the area as Marciana, Poggio, St.Pietro and St.Ilario. Marciana Marina (15 min. by car) is a well known dressy small village, with its enchanting seaport and charming old village part.
