Lovely Villa with 2 apartments, pool, gardens and sea views just outside Palma

Villa Tranquila is in the sleepy village of Genova just outside Palma. It is set in idyllic tranquil gardens. There is a 10mx5m swimming pool surrounded by lots of terrace space and relaxing areas with chairs, tables & sun-beds. It is ideally situated, with something for everyone within easy access. There are numerous beaches close by, old town Palma with fabulous shopping, culture and vibrant nightlife is just 5 mins drive (or bus ride!) away; there are 2-3 golf courses within 3 km, and the rest of the island with all it has to offer is easily accessible.

Genova is famous for its restaurants with more than 15 to choose from, all within easy strolling distance.

Please note the pool, gardens are shared with the occupants of 1 other apartment in the villa. The roof terrace is exclusively for the 1st floor; the terrace immediately outside the ground floor is exclusively for use by the ground floor. The rest of the extensive gardens are shared.

Although there are plenty of restaurants in the village (famous for its Mallorcan cuisine), there are also a plethora of sophisticated and trendy bars, restaurants, clubs and shows in Palma. There are beaches, water sports, water parks, tennis courts, golf courses, boating and horse riding facilities nearby.

This lovely villa is an “old traditional-style Finca” that has been sympathetically renovated to retain its traditional Mallorcan charm but to also create on the first floor, a bright, airy, fresh space that has been tastefully decorated with an attractive combination of contemporary and antique furniture. The ground floor is shadier and cooler with thick stone walls & original floor tiles, which is ideal for the hot summer months. Most of the ground floor rooms have French doors leading directly onto a cobbled terrace with a covering dining area, and comfortable garden chairs to enjoy the gardens.

Please note the pool and gardens are shared with the occupants of the other apartment in the villa. The roof terrace is exclusively for the first floor; the ground floor terrace is exclusively for the use of the ground floor apartment.

Please also note that the property is available for rent all year round - its location just outside Palma with easy access to the rest of the island, makes it an ideal base for winter sun holidays.

The Tranquila apartment is a spacious, bright, contemporary-style apartment on the top floor of beautiful and rustic Villa Tranquila. It has a private roof terrace and shared use (with the occupants of the ground floor) of the gardens incl. a large 10m x 5m pool, and the private roof terrace is excellent for barbecues and al fresco dining.

The apartment works equally well for a romantic getaway for 2 (using just 1 bedroom - please enquire about discounts) as for a family holiday using both bedrooms and some extra bedding we can supply on request.

This is a wonderful place to relax in the tranquility of the gardens and get away from it all, and yet there is everything you need just on your doorstep - Palma, local village shops and restaurants, beaches, tourist attractions, activities...

The perfect location on Mallorca

We have just returned from a lovely stay in Tim's first floor apartment. Everything went smoothly, from prompt replies to booking queries, to payment, directions and welcome. The apartment is so spacious, and nice to have good quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. So often rental apartments seem to be kitten out with the owner's cast offs, but not this one! Lovely kitchen with granite worktops and modern appliances, and well fitted out with crockery, pans, gadgets etc. There are fairly steep stairs to the apartment, and further steeper stairs to the roof terrace. Fine for us, but anyone with mobility issues or very young children might find this a problem.

The pool area is lovely, the pool large for what is effectively a private pool. It's very sheltered with lush vegetation so a real sun trap. And nice padded sun loungers too! Perfect for a snooze after lunch! The roof terrace is nice too - we tended to sit up there for an early evening drink before dinner. Being elevated, it catches the breeze so it is a good place to choose if the pool area (being so sheltered) gets too hot.

One of the best things about the apartment for us was its location. A car is probably essential, but it's a 5 minute walk to a little bakery and mini supermarket, and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. It's also a 10 minute drive to a massive indoor shopping mall, with the biggest Carrefour hypermarket ever! And 15 minutes drive into the centre of Palma. The main

road system on Mallorca all radiates out from a "ring road" around the north of Palma, and the apartment is just outside the ring road, 5 minutes drive to get on it, so ideal if you want to explore the island. There was a little background road noise, but more a quiet "hum" than a disturbance. .

Finally (I've waffled on long enough) I cannot fail to mention the welcome from Tim himself. He was the perfect host, and a charming gentleman, we soon felt like we were staying in a friend's apartment, not a rental. He was full of information and recommendations of where to go, restaurants, etc. He was often "around" but not intrusive at all. Sometimes we were busy and didn't see him for 2 or 3 days, then we'd bump into him and share a bottle of wine on the terrace! He gave us more recommendations than we could follow up - only one answer - we'll have to return!

You certainly made the most of your car rental, getting to explore all sorts of well known and "off the beaten track" locations. (My only comment would be for others reading this, is that if you want to discover the Island in the way this family did, a car is essential as Mallorca is a fairly big island. If however you want a holiday that is based around the city of Palma, its environs and the the immediate vicinity of Genova, San Agustin and Illetas Cabs are a very viable alternative, as a cab to the centre of Palma is only around 6/7 euros, and for the budget conscious traveller (or for those without a license) the bus service to the city runs every 25 minute or so from the village and is only 1.50 and takes about 10 minutes. Similarly our nearest local beaches are at the bottom of the hill and again by bus this is circa 5 minutes or a 5 euro cab ride. Our location also makes the option of car rental for part of one's stay, in order to have the opportunity to explore further afield very viable; and to use buses and cabs when staying closer to "home". This can be very helpful in peak summer months when car rental prices can be at a premium.) I hope you both come back to visit us soon as there is still much for you both to discover on the Island and some more Albarino wines and Mallorcan reds to be sampled! Excellent villa set in amazing gardens in a wonderful place

Villa (upper) was well decorated and big in size with wonderful features

Garden has lots of places to sit and chill also with an amazing pool

the village has ample shops plus places to eat out

There is an excellent regular bus service also to palma and other resorts

Tim the owner was also very helpful and polite

We just got back from the most wonderful 12 day stay in the upstairs apartment. Airy and so much more spacious than it seems in the pics- it easily accommodated our family of 4. The apartment was clean and in good condition, Tim was incredibly welcoming and helpful about the area, from everything including restaurants to good local wine!

We will definitely be visiting in the future, cannot recommend enough.

We had an amazing stay at the first floor apartment. It's a tucked away hidden gem, with everything you might want for a relaxing break.

The rooms are airy, with plenty of fans to keep you cool, and the rest of the description doesn't mislead you.

We loved spending time around the pool, and the owner, Tim, was also very helpful at giving us some great recommendations for some of the fantastic beaches and other attractions the island has to offer, as well as the wealth of lovely restaurants right on our doorstep in Genova.

Can't wait to go back!

A gem of a place

15 mins from the airport with easy access to Palma, beaches &ports we found the accommodation well equipped and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a garden a delight to relax in. Excellent local resteraunts our favourite being Larueda The lovely owners were very accommodating and helped make the most of our stay -thank you Tim and Fiona. A definite return visit for us.

Spacious and comfortable appartment with a view

We, a family of four including two teenagers, stayed for a week in the 1st floor apartment. We very much enjoyed the stay, the garden and the pool, as well as the evenings on the top terrace.

The property appeared very clean and well maintained with a lovely garden, all true to the pictures available. The bakery and nice mallorcan restaurants were within short walking distance.

We fully recommend this to anybody with the needs of the facilities as presented :)

Casa Tranquila is away from the noise and Hubbub of being in a seaside resort where the noise at night from party goers, bars and clubs can be intrusive. It is located very close to Palma City centre, but is in the countryside on the edge of a small village with some of the island's best restraurants in walking distance. Beaches and the sea are within 5 minutes driving distance.

This lovely villa is perfectly located for those looking for peace and quiet, but also wanting to be close to local facilities and Majorca's many tourist attractions.

It is situated in the centre of Genova, a charming, quiet village just 4 kms outside the beautiful city of Palma de Mallorca. It is close to the sea, numerous stunning beaches, water sports, golf, tennis, hiking, night life, chic shopping and the cultural highlights of historic Palma. It offers easy access to the whole of the rest of the island, the furthest parts of which can be reached within approximately one hour by car.

The village of Genova is famous for its restaurants - and particularly restaurants specialising in Mallorcan cuisine - so excellent local delicacies are just a few minutes walk away. The village also has a couple of cafes, a bakery, a few small food shops, and a hardware store.

Although a car is recommended to get the best out of the whole island, it is not absolutely necessary if you don't want to go very far afield. The village is on a good bus route between Palma and the coast, and taxis are easily obtained. Chic Puerto Portals Marina and shopping is a few kilometers away, as are Marineland and the water parks.
