Fabulous apartment

My husband & I decided on the Scala apartment as we wanted a nice, luxury apartment for a stay in Cascais during March (given the weather can be variable, we wanted to ensure we had a great place to stay). The apartment did not disappoint, it was exactly what we were looking for - a great open plan feel, modern with everything we could need. This apartment definitely enhanced our stay in Cascais.

Per other reviews, it is well positioned, within walking distance to amenities. Pedro & team also offered a great service, and we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived.

We would definitely recommend it to friends & family and consider returning there ourselves too!

Gorgeous apartment

What a gorgeous spacious apartment! Modern and beautifully decorated. I could move right in. Fantastic patio with a nice view of the gardens and outdoor pool. The pool was not open at this time of year but the indoor pool was, however, we were too busy to enjoy that. The underground parking was so convenient. Although we were only there for three days, the maid came in to put the dishwasher on and some light cleaning in the kitchen - I didn't expect that as our stay was so short. If you plan to do any cooking, you might want to bring along some basic spices. There is a grocery store not too far away which is small but provides your basics. Pedro was not available to meet us but his cousin was and he was pleasant, polite and helpful. Restaurants that we particularly enjoyed in Cascais include Aromi (Italian and the BEST buffalo mozzarella we had in Portugal) and Masala (Indian). Both offer a nice change from Portuguese when you are ready for that!

La Scala

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this apartment. Our group consisted of 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a 7 year old.

The apartment itself was ultra-modern and had every facility we required. The bedrooms were air-conditioned, there was free wi-fi (for unavoidable Facebook) and the fridge dispensed chilled water and crushed ice; a big hit with our 7 year old! We received maid service 3 times during the week we were there.

The complex consists of 3 apartment blocks, 2 outdoor pools, an indoor pool, gym and sauna- all were used. The apartment complex is about a 15 minute gentle walk from the centre of Cascais.

The town itself is lovely with plenty of good shops, a great market and good restaurants.The beaches are o.k, however we preferred lazy days around the pool.We chose Cascais because it was easy to get to by public transport from Lisbon Airport. You just take the airport bus to the station and then a 30 min train journey to Cascais.

If you want to sight-see, Sintra (a world heritage site) and Lisbon are 30 mins away by either bus or train.

We went at the end of August and the temperature was just right. It was hot, however the prevailing sea breeze meant that we were never uncomfortable.

Pedro ( the owner) was helpful, even when I accidentally left my camera in a taxi (it was returned).

So if you like authentic Portugal, good food and a hassle-free holidays I would recommend both these apartments and Cascais itself.

The Apartment is located in a very quiet and relaxing area of Cascais, 2 minutes walking from a 10 Km Ocean Front Cycle way and with plenty of Sea Food and Portuguese Style Restaurants. Within Walking Distance there are all the services you may need for your stay (Bakery, Supermarket, Banks, Hairdresser etc.) and Cascais's Marina with its Bars,Pubs and Restaurants. Close by Golf Courses, the Guincho Beach famous for its Surf and WindSurf, and Lord Byron's Sintra Town with its palaces and amazing scenery. Estoril known for its Casino is just 5 Km away. Lisbon with all its attractions is 30 minutes away in a train ride famous for its Ocean/River views.
