Lovely comfy house

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to Sheri firstly for a very warm welcome and of leaving some tasty treats. The house is very comfortable, we especially liked the conservatory. It's a great location too with minutes in the car to the beach, a short walk to the shops/pubs/restaurants and the river walks, and not far too all other beaches and new forest attractions. I thoroughly recommend it too all.

Comfortable stay

  • 4 of 5

The house was adequate and clean, but I think that it would be crowded with 6 people. I was there on my own, until my sister and her husband joined me on the Thursday. The kitchen was quite well equipped, but there were no scissors and the torches did not work. The shower was good, but having to step into the bath to use it could have posed problems for people with poor mobility. The downstairs loo did not always flush at the first attempt. Bedding was okay, but too many unnecessary cushions! And I do prefer feather duvets! The towels supplied were rather thin, and the towel rail needed to be a heated one, separate from the central heating system. There was nowhere to dry anything, and there was a lot of rain during the week. The noise of the rain from the broken gutter onto the conservatory roof was deafening.

Initially, I had no wifi, and I had to call Mr Gadd to ask where the password was. It would have been useful to have the information in the folder. All the other information and maps were very helpful. Dog walking in the Pleasure Gardens was excellent, but it was quite a long walk to the beach. I took 15 minutes to walk there, and I am a fast walker! Milford village was delightful, and the house was in a very pleasant, quiet situation. It was useful to see that some basic food had been supplied.

I would still recommend this property to friends, as it was very handy for several holiday places such as Keyhaven, Highcliffe, Mudeford, Bournemouth, the New Forest and Christchurch.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The internal parts of the downstairs toilet have now all been replaced and it should work perfectly. Thanks for letting me know about the broken gutter. I am arranging for this to be repaired. Every month I put some spare batteries in the property for the remote control and torches. I apologise if they were missing during your stay. Regarding drying clothes, if the weather is too bad to peg out on the rotary line, most guests use the tumble drier in the kitchen next to the washing machine. The Wi Fi code is on the bottom of the BT router and on the card in the slot on the back of the router. I am sorry that Mr Gadd forgot to explain this to you. I am pleased you appreciated the welcome pack of groceries we provide for guests staying seven or more days.

We were (4 adults + 2 small dogs) extremely satisfied with all aspects of Pine View Cottage and would highly recommend it. The situation is perfect, within easy reach of all local amenities and the walks from the doorstep just excellent for dogs. Good for people too!! June 11th to 18th 23016

Good location near to village and beach.

  • 3 of 5

The cottage of terraced house was surprisingly spacious with 2 double bedrooms and 1 single bedroom. The property was reasonably well maintained and comfortable and clean.

It could have been equipped with a few more items to make our stay more comfortable. We thought that towels were included but they weren't so we had to go to the expense of buying towels for 6 people. There was no bath mat, or cereal/dessert bowls which although are small items are sort of essentials for self catering.

The position is in a very quiet road minutes from village, beach and lovely woodland walks.

I would recommend but you might need to bring a few items with you!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. It is clear from the details sent to guests, and provided by the website, that towels are provided when requested at an additional cost of £15. This is to keep costs down for guests who prefer to bring their own. We do provide A selection of bowls eg soup and dessert but have now also included another six "cereal" bowls after your suggestion.
