Well appointed cottage

This cottage was renovated well, very comfortable and had everything you might need (except maybe bug spray!) We enjoyed our stay - sat in the chairs to visit when we arrived, visited the fruit stand, the beach and St. Joes, all near by. Our only concern was that the 2nd bed is not a bed. The owners have moved one of the pull out couches to the downstairs space. The living room is lovely for hanging out and visiting. We really enjoyed everything else about the house. However, if we had known there was no 2nd bed we would have picked a different place. The owners were very responsive to questions and the house is super clean. (There was even plastic wrap for our leftovers!)

Great stay!

Attention to detail was outstanding! Owner clearly takes a lot of pride in good work and thinking of your every need. Great location between St. Joseph and South Haven. We found St Joe to be more easily accessible btw the two. The beach is right at the top of the street and really nice. If you like quiet, secluded, out of the mix but close to it... this is a fit for you. Highly recommend.

Amazing Area

Beautiful home and property, check in was easy, area was great. 2 min to the beach. My teens had a great time. The outdoor shower and watching the owls at night were an added bonus!

Cyndi and I met in 1993 when I waited on her table; 23 years later we serve guests from all over the world in our small bistro, 2 Chez Restaurant in Peoria, IL that we have owned since 2006. To us, both people and places are unique; our love of both has fueled our love of traveling. Our shared love of adventure and seeing new places has taken us to many unique places, near and far. Our two children, now both young adults, have also shared in our love of traveling. We decided to rebuild this cottage because we love Southwest Michigan, from the beautiful beaches to the orchards to each unique town that dots the lakeshore make this area a special place for us to get away and relax. Our intent from the start of the complete remodel was to build a place to find comfort and retreat from the busyness and rush of day to day living. We hope you enjoy our cottage as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We have enjoyed renting cottages when we were on the road, as travelers we have had great experiences with house rentals and not so good ones as well. We chose this area because of its proximity to the activities we love, and while rebuilding this cottage we tried to add all the charm and comfortable features that we expect. From the comfort of the mattresses to the craftsman's style deck in the woods, we tried to leave no stone unturned without asking ourselves, "would we love staying here as travelers"? This is our home away from home, and is an extension of our enjoyment of the hospitality industry and rebuilt for you to enjoy with your family as we have enjoyed it with ours.
