Our modern, bright two bedroom and studio apartments are located in a townhouse in the heart of 'Brownstone Brooklyn'. We are situated on a quiet, tree lined street only two minutes walk from the subway for easy access to Manhattan in 20 minutes. The two bedroom apartment overlooks a garden and the studio has its own front garden complete with a bench to sit and watch the world go by.

The apartments are comfortably furnished with everything you need for your wonderful vacation in New York City!

An added bonus!: The townhouse is privately owned by an ex-pat from England. Emma came to New York to live and work, but spent several years seeing the city from a tourist perspective as she explored a new city. If you stay with us at Jefferson Apartments, Emma's experience will be an added bonus - it's like having a concierge on the premises! Emma is on hand to help with directions, restaurant recommendations and off-the-beaten-path tourist tips!

About Emma James

I moved from London to LA in 1994 and then to New York in 1995 and I've been here ever since! I lived for 8 years in Greenwich Village in Manhattan and then moved to Brooklyn in 2002.

We bought the property because it had a garden and there was more space for our family. Once we moved in, we discovered that we live on the friendliest block in Brooklyn!

What makes this apartment unique

Many people are new to renting a vacation rental as opposed to a hotel. You can rest assured that you will enjoy the experience! I live with my family on the premises and I am here to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I can help with directions and recommendations and any questions you might have whilst you are here. Stayed at the this excellent apartment for a week just before Christmas - a great time to visit New York and had the best time largely due to our accommodation. It was good to be outside of Manhattan to experience the real NY but conveniently situated for everything. It's 2 minutes from the subway so couldn't have been better. Emma is a great host and recommended the coolest places that wouldn't be on the tourist trail. So best apartment, best location and best host, win, win, win. Thanks Emma.

Very nice stay

This is a very nice property, in a decent location, not far from the subway, and with a number of local shops for groceries etc. We were not around during the day but late evenings and overnight were very quiet. the property had ample facilities for what we needed, which was a base to explore New York. Good value for money also.

Great location, great host!

The apartment is a few blocks away from the subway. Clean and comfortable beds and Emma is a great host. She had maps and a book that provided information around the neighborhood. I would recommend this apartment to anyone. There are stairs so if you have a lot of luggage, it will be a hike. It is New York so be prepared to walk up and down stairs everywhere.

The apartment was great. Quiet location with food and shopping near by. The drive to Manhattan can vary depending on the time of day from 45 mins to 2 hours. If your expectations of NYC traffic are correct you will know this is normal.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jonathan for your positive review. If at all possible, I advise guests to take the subway which has you in to Manhattan in 20 minutes. Traffic is not very forgiving in NYC and so it's a relief that 95% of my guests don't have a car!

Fantastic place to stay

We stayed at the third Floor appartment and hugely recommend this property. Very well equipped and kitchen, sitting room, bathroom and 2 bedrooms are all in perfect condition and offer everything you could possibly want for a succesful holiday or stay in NYC. Moreover situated in a quiet but very nice neighbourhood, where you are not treated as tourists. Lot's of good grocery and general stores in walking distance (max 5 minutes) and also some excellent local restaurants (all suggested in a nice little guide by the owner). Close to the subway station (450 meters) with excellent connections to all directions. Short summary : don't hesitate, excellent value for money and if we come back for holiday or business this property will be high on the wishlist.

Great stay in Brooklyn

Emma was a great host, she met us at the apartment, was really helpful offering guidance on transport, restaurants, etc. The apartment was really lovely, very clean, and had everything we needed. I would recommend Emma and her apartment to anyone going to New York. It was only a couple of minutes to the subway, plenty of local shops and coffee shops. We had a great week in New York.

We are located in the fashionable and convenient borough of Brooklyn.

Within minutes are the C, A and S trains plus the Long Island Railroad so we are perfectly situated for you to travel anywhere in New York City.

Close to cafés, restaurants, shopping, theaters and tourist attractions including The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park and even just a subway ride to Coney Island and the New York Aquarium.

Well stocked supermarkets, open late 7 days a week are two blocks away. We are one block from a public library and 4 blocks to a YMCA with gym and swimming pool.
