About the property

Sleeps 8-10 in a beautiful setting close to Oxford and Cheltenham.

Spacious, welcoming holiday home for families and small groups alike. Rose Barn has a semi-open plan feel with a clever layout that defines living ares but maintains a feeling of space. There is a lovely light-filled living area with log burning stove and lots of sofas and chairs for everyone to sit in comfort. There is large dining room next to a superbly fitted kitchen.

There are 4 bedrooms:

1x double

2 x double/twin/family rooms (with 1 double & 1 single day bed)

1 x double/twin (zip & link beds)

There are 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), one shower room and a separate loo.

The enclosed courtyard garden to the front of the property makes it particularly safe for children and there is a set of garden furniture plus a barbecue for outside entertaining.

It is set within Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve. The site totals 600 acres of wildlife rich land along the banks of the River Thames. The reserve is of national importance for its species-rich wetland meadows that support large numbers of now scarce ground-nesting birds.

The busy cities of Oxford and Cheltenham are approximately 40 minutes away. London is easily reached via the A40 (10 mins) and M40.

Finally, we welcome well behaved dogs!

Between the pretty towns of Faringdon and Bampton, both 10 minutes away, you will find banks, coffee shops, butcher, vet, doctor, garage, and supermarket. Bampton is also known as 'Downton village' as the village scenes for the ever popular series Downton Abbey are filed here. The famous market town of Burford is a short drive. Known as the gateway to the Cotswolds, it has a stunning high street with lots of lovely independent shops, galleries and restaurants.

For golf lovers, there are three outstanding clubs nearby. We recommend Carswell Golf & Country Club at Frilford Heath, Burford Golf Club and Faringdon Golf Club, all around 15 minutes’ drive away.

A little further afield, Oxford, with its dreaming spires, is well worth a visit and beyond - for bargain shopping lovers - there's Bicester Outlet Village (approximately 40 minutes away).

A very spacious property.

A very spacious property ideal for a family get together. The living rooms were large enough for everyone to be seated and most of the bedrooms were of a good size. The little children enjoyed running up and down the long corridors. The outside spaces were lovely too. The rooms were were pleasantly decorated. Ideal for wildlife enthusiasts. Situated in the middle of the nature reserve and close to the Thames. Plenty of unusual birds and a deer came into the grounds in the evening. Very quiet and peaceful zero traffic noise. Not for those who need facilities on the doorstep. A get away from it all place.

Spacious, comfortable, ideal group house.

Rose Barn was perfect - the layout comfortable and spacious for our group, plenty of space for lounging and relaxing, nice bedrooms and kitchen. Customer service was excellent. Also, although the other barns were also booked that weekend, we didn't see or hear anything of the other guests. It felt nicely secluded and peaceful.
