7 bedroom Javea luxury, heated pool, Outside bar/kitchen/pizza oven, AC, Sky TV

Overview

Property

Updated: 02-Dec-2016
A 4-7 bedroom beautifully furnished & equipped villa, sleeps 16 (with air-con)

This beautiful modern 7-bedroom villa (including a 3 bedroom adjoining apartment) in this exclusive area of Javea, and just 5-minutes from the beach front, is perfect for a large family or with 2, 3, 4 or even 5 families - with plenty of personal space for all. Many of our bookings are from different generations of the same family. With air-conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas, fast WiFi throughout and Sky HD TV's in all 4 master bedrooms and both lounges (with full movies, sports, children's channels) - Villa Lucero has all your home luxuries, and more. The terrace area is south-facing and includes 10 sunbeds and a very large pool (which can be heated). For your children there's a playroom, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii (with 2 controllers for each console) and a 14-foot trampoline in the garden.

You'll love the outside 'summer kitchen' and bar area for entertaining (with large 5-burner BBQ, fridge/freezer, sink etc). Uniquely the bar has a beer pump - so you can pour yourself chilled Spanish beer. There's all the equipment ready for you - from creating cocktails to cooking chicken. A roof creates shade for the daytime - and the beautiful LED lighting makes the ideal setting for you all to enjoy evening drinks and food alfresco, with your phone connected to our outside speakers playing your tunes.

** NEW FOR 2017 ** Another addition to Villa Lucero from March 2017 is a wood-burning pizza oven and paella bar. Both are part of the new extended outdoor entertainment area - making the home even more perfect for large groups. It's likely all your cooking will take place outside - either on the large gas BBQ, pizzas, roasts or tandoori in the wood-burning oven - or fabulous paellas using the large paella gas ring/pans. Your own 5-star restaurant, bar and summer kitchen!

The pool area is south-facing so benefits from sunshine all day - but with plenty of seating and shaded areas for you to cool down and sit or eat together - or have your own "me time" away from the group.

Inside, the large villa kitchen, complete with beautiful black granite worktops, has everything you would ever need on holiday, and more. We even have an internet radio so you can listen to Radio 2 or 4 over breakfast, right after you've made your favourite coffee with our Dolce-Gusto coffee machine.

Within walking distance there are 3 excellent restaurants, a tennis club/bar (which serves lovely tapas food), grocery shop, beauty salon, cafe and The Lounge bar. Numerous other restaurants are just 5 minutes away in the car at the Arenal beach front.

Please do read our reviews further down to see what previous guests have said about their stay - and feel free to get in touch to ask anything further!!

Big birthday or anniversary celebration? Well, we can organise a large bespoke cake to be made and delivered, with candles, on the day by a local lady.

Apartment Details: For larger parties the adjoining apartment can be rented (adding a further 3 bedrooms to make a total of 7 bedrooms). This has 2 x king-size master bedrooms (one with en-suite bathroom and own adjoining cot room/dresser), a further twin bedroom with 2 single beds, and a separate shower room. The lounge of the apartment is equipped with a 42-inch HD TV - with Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. There's also Xbox and Wii games, and DVDs. There is a small kitchen area in the apartment - for making light breakfast, tea/coffee.

The apartment will NOT be let separately to the main villa. Please make sure you click "PRICES" to see notes on pricing at different times of the year.

Please note: Villa Lucero uses a new natural pool water cleaning system. This is not traditional chlorine-base, like the majority of villas, but a natural one using a modern salt-based system. You can't feel or taste the salt, and it is much, much kinder to the skin and hair, and ensures the pool remains in perfect condition during your stay.

*** IMPORTANT - PLEASE contact us BEFORE making an online reservation request (we respond very quickly) - as this is much easier and avoids you having to wait for a credit card refund if we decline your booking. We can then quickly identify if our villa is suitable for you (e.g. configuration of bedrooms/guests etc).

About the Owner

We live just outside London and love visiting Javea when we can. Our villa is of great pride to us - and we love updating and making improvements every year. Having children we've tried to make a real 'family friendly' home, and, from past experience staying in rental properties (where amenities were sparse), filled our villa with all manner of necessities and luxuries. We planned the villa from scratch with the help of a local architect, famed for creating the 5-star Marriott hotel nearby. The property is designed to 'flow' with spaces for the kids all close-by to where the parents will be (e.g. the playroom is just off the kitchen and within sight of the outside terrace area). The photos you see we have taken on an iPhone. We thought about using a professional photographer - but really prefer the honesty our own pictures have. Guests often comment that "it's even better than in the photos". We look forward to hearing from you!

Best holiday rental property ever stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this wonderful villa for a week from 29th June 2013. We were a large, family party of 11 people ranging from age 2 - 65, looking to celebrate a special family birthday together.

We decided to book Villa Lucero as it looked to suit our party ideally in terms of number of bedrooms, facilities, location etc. after hours of painstakingly trawling the internet for a suitable property and we certainly made the right decision in choosing this lovely villa.

The booking process and assistance prior to and during the holiday was absolutely first rate by the owner, Brett. He was incredibly helpful in our pre and post booking questions and providing information about the area and directions to the villa from the airport. I can honestly say in many years of renting holiday properties that Brett has been the most helpful, prompt and informative of all the property owners I've ever dealt with.

The photographs of the property sincerely do not do it justice. It is beautifully presented with everything you should require for your stay. We particularly found the facilities for our 2 year old boy outstanding. There were not one but 2 travel cots, a highchair, blankets, toys, books and a huge selection of DVDs.

The swimming pool area and gardens are beautifully maintained and the area in which the property is situated is peaceful yet only a short distance from several supermarkets and restaurants along with the gorgeous Arenal beach in Javea itself.

The property has air conditioning, the full Sky television package (including Sky+) and a fantastic, outside entertainment area including a large BBQ and outdoor kitchen area, plenty of outside seating and dining space under the covered terrace and music system which can be piped inside and outside! All of which added to our enjoyment of our stay and that doesn't even cover the huge trampoline (with safety net) in the rear gardens of the house! The pool area has plenty of sunbeds, an outside shower and is extremely well-kept. The main kitchen is very well-equipped and we found the fridge/freezer with ice and water dispenser invaluable. It seems great thought has been put into the equipment / facilities in this villa to give any renter the best possible holiday.

I cannot recommend this property and owners enough for anyone considering renting a villa in this area.

Thank you, Brett, for a wonderful stay and a truly memorable family holiday.

Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

We are family of 4 who stayed at Villa Lucero at the beginning of this month. We were looking at property in the area and could have stayed somewhere smaller and cheaper but I fell in love with the villa from the pictures online, decided to treat us and we certainly weren't disappointed! Villa Lucero is just as lovely in real life as it is in the photos, actually it's even better!

For me all the little touches really make it, especially the amazing pool and bar area and the enormous trampoline for the children. We were lucky with the weather but had one wet day which was made so much nicer thanks to all the sky channels, including all the sports to keep my husband happy, lots of DVDs and games to keep my daughter happy and the Xbox one to keep my son happy! Followed by some great authentic Spanish food at El Trovador just a short walk away- don't be put off by the exterior, the food was great and staff very welcoming, couldn't believe how cheap it was. We loved Casa de la Pizza and Azahar too.

Would definitely recommend Villa Lucero to families or large groups. Brett was great at giving us all the info we needed and checking on our every need. Thanks for a great stay at Villa Lucero, just wish we could afford to buy it 😉򒐊

Owner's Response: Thanks Julie and Peter. We haven't tried El Trovador yet (believe there are new owners), so glad you liked it, and will pass on your recommendation to future guests (and check it out ourselves). We also love the Everest Spice curry restaurant (again which you can walk to from our villa) - great 3-course menus for around 12 euros each person. And possibly the best curry we've eaten (yes, and in Spain!). Thanks again, and hope you soon find your own dream 'place in the sun'! Brett

Lovely villa for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just had the best family holiday ever! This was a complete surprise for my 70th birthday so I was overwhelmed when we arrived at the beautiful Villa Lucero, 14 of us. It was equipped with everything you could wish for, spacious, clean and comfortable. My son had asked that with six children in our group having a heated pool was a must, and we were not disappointed. Brett checked regularly that we were satisfied with the temperature. The children loved it, especially swimming at night with the colourful lights. The outside eating areas were really nice. Lovely beach nearby. I just loved everything about it - a fantastic holiday!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your lovely review Jo - and so pleased we helped make your 70th a special one to always remember! For future guests - we have a state-of-the-art pool system where we can remotely control and monitor the pool temperature using an app (the same with the villa underfloor heating) so can respond quickly to any change in weather if your stay is outside of summer.

All the luxuries - tip top villa!

  • 5 of 5

We walked into Villa Lucero and loved it instantly. We arrived late so it was nice to have someone meet us and show us how the alarm worked and more importantly the beer tap (for the men - ha ha)!!!!!! Then we opened the fridge and breakfast had been left for us for the next day. Sweet. The girls appreciated the vino and cava too!!!! Great location, quiet but close enough to the action by the beach front. Although we mostly spent evenings by the outside eating area/bar and bbq area which is cool, with the blue lights. Couldn't fault this villa at all - it was spotless, and had some really nice luxuries that we have never seen in a holiday place before (e.g. the coffee machines and the music centres you can bluetooth your phone to) and we will definitely return if we can get everyone together sometime in the future. Thanks Brett & Carolyn - and apologies for taking so long to write this review.

Gorgeous villa. 2nd stay - keeps getting better!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in Villa Lucero - the last time being a couple of years ago. We were certainly impressed last time - but it's even more gorgeous now. As clean and well-kept as ever - but with lots of new little touches we kept finding - love the new garden lights and huge outdoor table. There's lots of little touches - we found some red LED ice cubes to put in our gin and tonics (lemons from the tree in the back garden!!) which made us feel like we were in a posh bar/club lighting up our drinks. Can't wait to return again. Would definitely recommend, and have done numerous times.

Doesn't live up to it's '5 Star Luxury' Rating

  • 3 of 5

We were all as a group very disappointed when we first arrived. First impressions are everything and unfortunately our first impression was that the villa was extremely dirty. The kitchen table had crumbs under the glass top, the kitchen units were sticky and extremely dirty. The top of the extractor fan was filthy and inside of drawers/cupboards obviously hadn't been cleaned in months. The Fridge/freezer was dirty and there was dirt were the water was dispensed. The kitchen was crawling with ants up one wall. Bathrooms had been given a light clean, one of them was very poorly maintained with the shower being covered in extensive and ingrained mould. The internal/external floors were filthy and the rugs in the living area and games area were foul smelling and dirty. Bedrooms still had remnants of previous occupants!! Unfortunately it didn't get any better outside, the outdoor kitchen was disgusting and the steps down to the garden overgrown making it difficult to access the garden from one side, the steps were covered in dirt, mould and lichen. Also litter was strewn everywhere. The outdoor seat covers had mould spores growing in the material (extremely unhealthy). The two smaller bedrooms smelt quite 'musty'. We took photographs and sent them to the owner Brett who admitted he and Debbie (cleaning company) were extremely embarrassed, Debbie and Sue and two other women attended and cleaned the outdoor kitchen, bathroom and wiped around the kitchen. Ant spray was used to clear the ants. The seat covers were taken and cleaned and returned 2/3 days later. A gardener attended and cut back the overgrown bush and cleaned the steps. The villa would have needed to be fully cleaned over a number of days and a lot of maintenance carried out for it to be rated '5 star Luxury', at best we would be pushed to rate it 3 star in terms of maintenance and would not be prepared to give it any stars in terms of cleaniness. On a positive note...the swimming pool was very good, the area very nice with Arenal beach excellent for our 2 granddaughters. We really enjoyed eating at two local restaurants, Casa de la Pizza and Restaurante Azahar. We mainly shopped at Aldi and also Consum, which had an excellent selection of fresh fish. Obviously for all the reasons given we would not recommend this property to friends/relatives although we would consider a visit to the area again. Prior and during our stay Brett communicated well, we are now just hoping this continues.

Owner's Response: Well, after hundreds of fantastic guests - there was this. Yes admittedly, on this occasion, we were not happy about the standard of cleaning - so we sent a different cleaning team back the next day, along with many apologies. Rogue cleaner now not used. Job quickly sorted. But, amongst other things, this guest insisted the outdoor cushions should all be taken away to be cleaned. It wasn't needed, but with a gentleman from Yorkshire telling our Spanish gardener which Palm tree branches to cut back (and how) - all concerned nodded and smiled politely. His grandchildren then drew on the (freshly dry cleaned) cushions with felt tip pens - more cost to us to have them professionally cleaned again. His list of complaints included there being gaps in the balcony railings (yes, that's right). Regarding ants - it's a hot country, so we always advise guests to not leave food and sticky drink spills without wiping up. Again promptly resolved by our staff (with a quick wipe using a paper towel). We take immense pride in our holiday home and constantly replace items and improve the facilities for guests. What this review doesn't mention is that 98% of our guests have themselves rated our villa "5 stars", not just for the cleanliness ("spotless" is often mentioned) but also the amenities and facilities, and quality of which, we provide. We don't always get it right, but we try our very best. For 2017 there's a new pizza and paella bar with wood burning oven. Could go on, but then you'd have less time to read our 40+ excellent reviews that tell the real story....

Villa Lucero is located looking out to a wonderful view of the Montgo mountain. Located in a development with similar-sized properties - you are just a 5-10 minute walk to three fabulous restaurants, a bar, cafe and a tennis club. Javea combines great natural beauty, sandy beaches, rugged mountain areas and an excellent climate all year round. A short 5 minute drive away to the beach and there are numerous good restaurants and bars in the port area, by the Arenal (one of the main beaches) and in the Old Town. There's also a variety of well stocked supermarkets, if you fancy eating in and enjoying a barbecue by the villa's large (12m x 5m) private pool.

The villa is all on one level (i.e. no stairs inside the property - so safe for young children). There is a separate downstairs apartment with 3 further bedrooms - ideal for the grandparents or another family (please click the PRICES tab above as additional rates apply outside of the main summer months).
