Overlooking the Common this double-fronted Victorian Townhouse is fantastic both for easy reach of the West End as well as south-east England. The house has been featured in many interior design magazines. It has six bedrooms including a fabulous master suite with 20 foot bathroom and walk in shower area plus separate dressing room. The
enormous modern kitchen extension with sitting area, features a five metre island unit – perfect for catering and can sit 14 or more for supper. The formal dining room can sit 14 or more and enjoys views over the common (park) opposite. For the summer months there is an outdoor eating area, gas barbecue and patio heater. The 34 foot living room has two fireplaces and a library area for relaxing. There are five double bedrooms with double/kingsize beds, and a large bedroom with three single beds and optional pull-out beds and mattresses for additional guests. The en suite dressing room can also double as a single bedroom.

Catherine Bains purchased this house in 2004
We Bought the house because it looks over Tooting Common which for London is Quite rare. The House is on the heaver Estate and was Designed by Lord Heaver. The Heaver Estate is in a Conservation Area and is popular with growing families with its easy commute to the city of London
Large House with Grand entertaining space and lots of bedrooms
A great house with planty spaces for family to enjoy. The beds is comfy. We all had a good time staying here.
I very rarely write these types of reviews but this time I felt moved to do so.
Without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the most beautiful houses I've had the pleasure of renting in London in the past 5 years (and that includes any listing on Air BnB, plus Onefinestay).
Not only is the house huge, but the attention to detail is incredible.
In addition, Catherine is a wonderful host and responded to most of my inane questions within a few hours, as well as made sure the house was ready for my stay.
I hope to stay again in the future.
We have just stayed in the house for a pre-wedding party weekend. 18 of us stayed in total, and there was plenty of room to spare. All of our guests were amazed by the house, it really is even better than the photos show it to be. This was the perfect place for entertaining, everything you can possibly imagine is available for use and the house is a beautiful venue - easy to decorate for an event. On the Friday we held a dinner party for everyone (given the space, the facilities and the kitchen, this was easy to arrange) and on the Saturday we held a pre-club private cocktail party (with the help of a private company). The kitchen is also a great space for entertaining...there are just so many options here. The views over the common were lovely. The location was great too - we were able to drive right up to the house and park for the weekend and it was just a short tube ride into central London. A massive thank you to Catherine and Michael for their help in organising our stay in the house. They were always on hand to answer any questions and made everything very easy. We only hope we can some and stay again some time soon...a yearly reunion has been mentioned!
In the lead up to my best friend’s wedding I wanted to plan a weekend girly get away to remember.
I booked ‘The White House’ and I cannot explain enough in words how beautiful and stunning this venue is.
My friends have not stopped talking about the house and posting pictures on their Instagram!
The décor in this house is breath taking. Each room was extremely comfortable and beautiful and there was plenty of bathroom space for all of us.
Catherine and Michael were both extremely accommodating and helpful in answering any questions I had at booking stage.
Your house is a dream, thank you for letting us use it, and I look forward to staying there again sometime soon!!

As Maid of Honour to my best friends wedding, I planned a 2 night stay for a group of girls aged 23+ staying at 'The White House'.
It took us a good month to get over how much we enjoyed the weekend and the highlight was definately the house! Catherine was very accomodating and kept things simple which was really handy and the house itself was sheer luxury in our eyes...we loved the fact we could all cook breakfast and dinner together and getting ready in eachother's rooms all contributed to making the weekend a memorable one. The decor throughout the house all added to the luxury.
We stayed in the Master Suite which was incredible...the bathroom was amazing! All the girls absolutely loved their rooms throughout the house, the comfort was second to none. Being a big group of girls, it was great to have the use of the several bathrooms when getting ready along with the walk in wardrobe in the Master Suite...it really was perfect and beats any hotel you would get in London for the price.
All in all we had a fab weekend and can't thank Catherine enough for allowing us the use of this gorgeous house!!
Fantastic Christmas in a beautiful house. I would recommend the house for a special occasion. We stayed with our family over christmas and new year. The house was decked out beautifully with christmas trees and decorations. We had a magical Christmas
