Luxury holiday apartment in quiet residence, large terrace, 200 metres to beach

This 1st floor apartment provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people, with one spacious twin bedroom and an open plan living area combining two sofas, one of which converts into a double bed, plus dining table to seat 6 and a kitchen area with a breakfast bar.

Sliding patio doors from the living area and the bedroom offer access to the spacious balcony, where there is also table and chairs for 4 plus reclining sun chairs.

The kitchen area is well equipped with a fridge freezer, electric oven, hob with 4 electric rings, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and iron. Plenty of crockery and cutlery is provided as are the cooking utensils.

The twin bedroom has plenty of storage space provided by a large wall to wall fitted wardrobe and other units.

There is one bathroom comprising a walk in shower, basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

The bedroom and living area both benefit from reversible air-conditioning.

There is an lift and stairs.

Nice holidays in Le Barcarès

We (a couple, 37 and 41 years, from Germany) stayed in Le Barcarès for two weeks starting from the end of august until middle of September and we much enjoyed our stay in the apartment:

The apartment is on the first floor in a well-kept and modern residence with about 40 apartments. It has a large living-room which is connected with a large place for eating, a kitchenette, a bedroom, a bathroom and a very large balcony. The furnishing is very tasteful and also comfortable. There are a lot of decorative details like beautiful pictures on the wall, candles, etc., which create a harmonic atmosphere. The apartment is fully equipped, the dishes are complete. There is an air-condition. But we did not need it. The temperature outside was about 28 °C. Inside the apartment it was cooler. There is a cd-player,dvd-player, small television.

To the nice and large beach it is about five minutes walk from the apartment. The region offers a lot of activities, from culture, castles, villages to visit, the environment, beaches, the sea …

In Le Barcarès the restaurants were not our taste. But we discovered very nice restaurants in Leucate-Village, which is about 15 km away. There are several very nice restaurants with fine cuisine, mediterranean atmosphere. We went there several evenings and can recommend going there. We also liked to have diner in the apartment several evenings, by preparing salads, baguettes and French cheese with wine.

Altogether we had two fantastic weeks and would come again

Great apartment and exactly as described

The apartment was exactly as detailed and was clean and tidy on handover. English speaking caretakers made this very easy and pleasant and were very accommodating with local info and flexible on a late arrival after a long drive. Communication with owner prior to this was also very clear and as expected.

The location being five minutes from beach was excellent. Local activities in market square daily and lots to see and do

Recommended to travel to Port Leucate for more evening entertainment, crazy golf open late, Aqua park ( Great fun for big and younger kids) and Port Barceres for best restaurants .

Benefit of secure parking if driving was a real bonus and gave piece of mind.

Great holidays

We spent one week at the appartment at the end of June. The appartment is indeed exactly as on the pictures, it has been decorated with taste. We had a great time in Le Barcares. It's a nice, quiet village ideal for relaxing holidays at this time of year. The beach is really at walking distance, shops are just around the corner and three times a week there is a market with local products. People are very friendly and welcoming.

Les Barcares. Apartment Athena

This apartment was just as described. 300m from a safe beach, opposite a good supermarket and with walking access to rest of town.

We felt it was a lovely safe family resort and were happy for our 11 and 14 year old to walk to shop and beach.

apartment was very clean with nice bedding and comfortable beds.Sofa bed is small for 2 adults.

Balcony was lovely for breakfast as partly shaded.

Town has reasonable selection of shops and restaurants and twice weekly markets.

easy access to surrounding area. Lots to do around here, Zoo, Karting, aquapark, Spain fo a day trip, snorkelling on some beaches.

We had a lovely week in late August and beaches all very quiet.

From Holland with Love....

Dear reader, I am Dutch so please ignore faults in my spelling.

We stayed in the appartment from 25-07-09 till 08-08-09. On arrival the first impression was very nice. The appartment looks good cared for and very important was clean!! The 2 one person bed's were good. The third person used the sofa-bed in the living room. The beds are fine but the sofa-bed is not recommended. So 2 person stay is the best. its located near the SuperU supermarket so groceries are nearby. Although we prefered the Carrefour, 15 min drive towards Perpignan. The appartment is very cool so we didn't need to use the airconditioning, thats a big plus. The large balcony is very nice. We used it every night for a drink and something to eat. We did not explore any restaurant's in the area but there are a number of them. Speciale in the harbour area. (10 min walk).

The appartment is on a residence so do not expect to use this place as a location for a party holiday.

Owner's Response: We will look at the Sofa Bed but we have had other parties of 3 and 4 staying and so far this year no one else has mentioned the Sofa. We have had a lot of personal emails thanking us for a wonderful holiday.

Très belles vacances à Barcarès

Nous avons loué l'appartement du 18 août au 25 août 2012. Nous avons été très satisfait de la location. Elle correspond bien à la description faite dans l'annonce.

L'appartement est très agréable, propre, décoré avec goût, confortable, bien équipé et très sécurisé. L'air conditionné est un plus et il n'y a pas de problème de parking pour la voiture.

De plus, l'appartement est bien situé : proche de la mer, des commerces (grande surface, boulangerie...), du centre du village et du marché. On peut aisement se passer de voiture. Nous avons pu profiter un maximum de la plage et de la mer.

Nous avons aussi apprécié le fait que les draps de lit et les essuies de bain étaient fournis ainsi que le nettoyage en fin de séjour.

Il faut signaler aussi les très bons contacts par mail avec le propriétaire.

The apartment is a few minutes walk from the beaches, village centre and good supermarket.

Le Barcares is a lively seaside resort with 9 kilometres of golden sand beaches and many shops, bars and restaurants.

In the village there are banks, a post office and tourist office .Visit the 3 weekly markets, in the village square and on beach road, to sample local fresh seafood and other produce, and to soak up the colourful atmosphere.

The village is on the southern most point of the Etang de Leucate, an inland lake separated from the sea by a narrow strip of land, providing a natural sanctuary for wildlife, flamingos and watersports enthusiasts.

Nearby is Port Barcares with large marina, casino and night club. Close to the Spanish border, the village has a strong Catalan heritage.
