Langlade is an old farm/distillery situated in a peaceful hamlet between the village of Cravans and the town of Gemozac. It has been sympathetically renovated to provide a 3 bedroom,a 4 bedroom and two 5 bedroom fully equipped individual houses. The properties were completed in 2008. The beautiful, safe, sandy beaches of Royan and St.Georges de Didonne are a brief 15 minute drive away. Les Lauriers, Langlade is a spacious five bedroom two bathroom house with its own private terrace perfect for a large family or group. There are various other attractions to suit all age groups. Langlade is set in its own grounds of approximately two acres and includes a 16 x 10 metre swimming pool in its own enclosure [conforming to the new French regulations], a 10 x 9 metre separate Games Room with covered terrace and a dedicated Petanque court. There are various other attractions to suit all age groups.

Lovely stay in comforable and well equipped rental

We stayed in the smallest of the 4 properties, La Platane, which had easily enough room for 6 people. During the first week we were the only occupants which was nice - but the individual gardens are private so we didn't really notice our neighbours in the second week. When the weather was hot, the outside space was just the right size for dining and we went to the pool area for lying out. The pool is enormous, The house was pristine on arrival.

Langlade is a good base to see both the seaside towns and those such as Pons, Cognac, Jonzac and Saintes. It is about 10mins off the motorway, which is handy for visiting more distant places: Bordeaux, Ile de Re etc. There is a handy Super U supermarket on the ring road around Gemozac, which is the main route to the property from the east, but you will need to go to the one in Cozes (10mins?) for Sunday morning shopping.

We saw three boulangeries on the main road through the centre of Gemozac, our preferred one is the one on the Pons side of town.

Our two favourite nearby restaurants, both well priced, are Hall't Gourmande in Cozes - very friendly and excellent seafood and La Vieille Poste in Champagnolles - tasty food.

Situated in a peaceful rural setting the house is close to the sandy beaches of Royan and St,Georges de Didonne. The historic towns of Saintes,Cognac, La Rochelle and Bordeaux are within approximately 1 hours drive. All watersports,cycling,walking,golf,horse riding,fishing and most other pastimes are available nearby.

The nearest shops, boulangerie, patisserie, supermarket are but a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away in Gemozac. There are various regular markets throughout the area
