This apartment is a rare find in a priviledged position.

One of only a handful of apartments in the Chamonix Valley where you can ski back to the door but still have the convenience of the cable car, chair lift , restaurants, shops and bars only a 200m level walk away. You are not stuck up a mountain with no nearby facilities with this apartment.

Being located in Les Houches on the famous Kandahar run of the World Cup Ski Circuit makes this property ideal for ski holidays.

In summer, climbers of Mont Blanc and walkers of the Tour de Montblanc will find this is the perfect base camp with the access point for both only 200m away.

Or simply relax and enjoy the fabulous panorama of the Mont-Blanc chain from the large deck area and swimming pool.

The apartment is a comfortable and cosy, recently renovated basement apartment, within a larger chalet. It has its own independent entrance, accessed through the shared garden.

There are 2 seperate bedrooms. The largest bedroom can be made up as a double or twin. The smaller bedroom has a double bed only. The sofa bed in the lounge/kitchen area allows up to 6 people to stay in the apartment. The kitchen area is well equipped and there is a seperate dining area. The family bathroom has a large shower enclosure.

Outside the entrance there is a large decking area giving fabulous views of the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc chain. Here you will find seating and a large gas BBQ. There is also a garden area here.

The heated outdoor pool is available June-September and shared with the residents of the chalet only. Please note it is heated by a heat exchanger and so the temperature of the water depends on the outside temperature. The apartment has its own entrance point to the pool, through the patio doors of the largest bedroom.

Parking for the property is in the public car park next to the chalet building.

In 2003, we left the UK behind to 'live the dream' in France. We lived in this apartment while running the main house as a catered chalet. Over the years we improved the property and had many successful years in the chalet industry. In 2008 we changed focus, and so now rent out the apartment on a self catering basis.

Location, location, location was the reason we bought this property.

Right on the piste but still only 200 metres from shops, bars restaurants. So you have the convenience of skiing back to the door without the inconvenience of being 'stuck' up the mountain.

The views of the Aiguille du Midi and surrounding mountains are stunning.

Les Houches is a lovely, quiet village but with vibrant Chamonix nearby, you get the best of both worlds. The year round trade was the icing on the cake!

Lovely chalet

Clean, cosy and comfy chalet with a breath taking view on the Alps mountain. The chalet guardians Peter and Chris are very friendly and helpful. Love our stay at this lovely chalet and Les Houches has not been disappointing and will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Clean, comfortable and superbly located

The apartment suited us very well. A good size for a family of 4 and it was a real benefit being able to ski back every day. Just a 5 minute walk to the lift in the morning as well. Everything you need is easily within walking distance.

Great apartment with stunning views.

Fantastic apartment with views to die for. Perfect for a family of 4. Well equipped (washing machine and dish washer would have made it perfect!). Sole use of swimming pool was a bonus. Short walk to Les Houches village. By busyish road but did not affect the quality of the position. Highly recommend.

Lovely chalet and amazing area

We had a lovely week staying in this apartment. The guardians (who live next door) were really friendly and very helpful. The chalet is small but absolutely adequate for two adults and two children. The view from the chalet is idyllic, so perfect for a morning cup of coffee! We loved the area (Les Houches has plenty of shops and restaurants, and we are keen to return to the area to explore it again).

This apartment is found in the village of Les Houches, which is one of the ski areas that make up the resorts of the Chamonix Valley.

For winter breaks, the property is ideally positioned at the bottom of the famous Kandahar run of the World Cup Ski Circuit. It is accessible for skiers of all abilities as both a beginner and intermediate piste lead to the apartment before the final 500m section to the door. Or take the turn to the lift and apres-ski bars.

In the summer, climbers of Mont Blanc and walkers of the Tour de Montblanc will find this is the perfect base camp, as the starting and finishing point for both is only 200m away. Or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Aiguille du Midi from the large deck area and swimming pool after a day of walking or sightseeing in Chamonix and the surrounding areas.

With this property residents do not have to compromise on convenience either as the cable car, chair lift , restaurants, shops and bars are only a 200m level walk away. With more facilites to be found in the village centre, only a 10 minute level walk away.

The popular town of Chamonix is about 6km away and is well connected by the local bus service which has regular departures from outside the cable car. Here you will find the Aiguille du Midi, the highest cable car in Europe that allows skiers/boarders to access the challenging 'Valley Blanche' - the longest off piste run in France. You can also visit the Mer de Glace via the Montenvers tramway, or take the Brevent and Flegere cable cars to access these areas and all they have to offer.

Les Houches is perfectly located to access so much more than just the french alps. A few highlights include the picturesque town of Annecy, with its canals, cobbled streets and lake, less than an hours drive away. Or how about a day in the city of Geneva, again only an hour away. A quick drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel and you arrive in the Aosta Valley where you can eat pizza in the Italian Alps. Or take a trip to Gruyere, in Switzerland to visit the cheese factory and the nearby Nestle chocolate factory.
