My name is Ozlem and being the new member of the Bastide d'Izard family, I am in charge of the reservations. My father in law, Jean Michel is the owner and general manager of the Domaine which is a wine estate at the same time. Here are some words from Jean Michel:
My wife (Bénédicte) and I have been living in the region since our birth. Coming from a family who has been producing wine for generation, it was in my blood to continue my life in this beautiful region. In 1985 my wife and I decided to develop the wine tourism and converted some part of the old winery to the villas. It is how we started welcoming other families from Europe as a holiday destination in Beaumont. Today we are 9 in the family and all of us work for the family business: Antoine (my sun) is the wine maker and the representative of the new generation, Ozlem is in charge of bookings, Aurelien & Julie & Benedicte, my wife & myself are the welcoming team on the Domaine.
Finally the young ones;Arthur-Han(7 yo), Eléonore(4 yo) and Edouard (1.5 yo) are in charge of growing fast to help us.
Ozlem purchased this villa in 1800
Maybe because we are born here or maybe because of the endless sunshine or just for enjoying the good food and wine; we love our region and it is why we continue living here.
Being just close to lots of attraction points (cities, beaches, shopings, etc) is one of the best thing about Beaumont and its location of course.. Hovever, being surronded by the vineyards and having this calm, is just priceless and very luxorious in our opinion.
Beaumont Spa & Wellness Center on site gives you a unique benefit also:
The compact 'Wellness Center' is combined of Beaumont Spa & Beaumont Gym. The Spa offers Beaumont guests different services with different packages and proggrammes; massages, sauna, hammam. And the fitness center is open to the guest use with various cardio facilities including treadmills, stationary bikes, aqua gym byces, etc.
We have been to the domaine twice and both times we loved it. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to keep it quiet. We stayed with a teenager and young children and four adults. There was something to suit all. The domaine is close to many scenic towns and villages so we made plenty of short trips to sightsee. The villas are very spacious and well equipped and well laid out. The pools were ideal for our needs with plenty of sun umbrellas and seats. We also enjoyed our meals at the Restaurant and of course the wine was excellent and we tried all varities but loved the Reserva. We also prepared many meals at the villa and enjoyed eating out on the patio.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and thought the second visit wouldnt live up to the first but we enjoyed it just as much. I would highly recommend the Domaine.
What a wonderful time we had at the Domaine Beaumont 2 years ago in July!
We truly enjoyed our stay. I was deciding between two Domaines, but
chose Beaumont due to the Creche. Lisa was wonderful. Our son kept
asking to go to the creche to see her--which was a much needed break.
The family was also very lovely and the restaurant had delicious food. Will definitely return!
Last summer, we spent 1 week at Beaumont, and I have absolutely no problem to recommend a vacation in one of their Villas.
Very short summarized, it has
- Nice surroundings in the countryside
- Apartments and outside private areas are very good
- Just some minutes driving from the apartment to the sea
- 2 lovely pools in the area
- Not crowded with people
- Short driving distance to small cities and other beautiful French villages
- The hosts and their are fantastic
- Good wines, and a nice own restaurant for their guests – located more or less in the middle of the vineyard
- The opportunity for own cooking (ex. barbeque) in your own garden is great
I can also tell you that my stories told to friends from our vacation last year has led to several family bookings at Beaumont this summer. 2 families from the same community as myself, and also some very good friends of mine from Denmark.
And of course, this summer, my family will go back to Beaumont for two weeks.
I am extremely happy to provide my personal recommendation of a great holiday destination which Beaumont Holidays can provide. Our family has holidayed in France for the past 12 years and Beaumont is the only holiday location that we are all eager to return to the following year. Beaumont offers a high standard of accommodation, the surroundings are well maintained, very peaceful, providing privacy from other accommodation on site. My girls age 13 & 6 really had a great holiday, the pool area was a big hit!. We all really enjoyed the superb restaurant which was frequented by locals which is always a good sign, not to mention the wine tasting of wines produced on site. We had a good choice of day trips to avail of during our holiday but the compliment to Beaumont is that we were equally happy to stay and enjoy the facilities that were on offer. The character of the place was really appealing and it was the added little touches that made it a special place. I could see our family wanting to return for many years to come.
My friend is going to spend her holiday there with her family in July based on all that we have told them on our return.
We cant wait to return at the end of May!
Beaumont is a place where you can completely relax and enjoy a new culture. The scenery really is breathtaking, pictures just do not do it any justice. There are places nearby to see so you are never bored. Undoubtedly, the hosts: Jean Michelle and Benedicte go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of perfect. Ten days just wasn't long enough, and whilst this was my second stay, it certainly won't be my last!
We highly recommend the Domaine Beaumont. We're a family of 5 (3 kids aged 4-10 years) and do so because:
It is so very relaxing. In fact it's a haven from the seething beaches and resorts nearby. It's quiet and enclosed so the kids can run around. You have pools, tennis, table tennis, a restaurant, other kids and a creche on site, so you do not have to mobilise the family all the time
The site is beautiful. The pines give shape and shade, the olives and other trees shelter the villas
Other families are there so kids can play (mix of French, UK, Ireland and Russia when we were there) but only a few, and you can keep to yourselves whenever you choose. But our youngest enjoyed an impromptu birthday party with the other kids too...
The pools are fabulous
The restaurant is in a great setting, and does good food and of course has very good wine!
But we also enjoyed BBQs, breakfasts etc in our own garden
Nearby Pezenas is a gem
Bread and croissant delivery was great
Our 3 bed villa was well equipped, clean and well maintained
The owners are very friendly and attentive
Some watch outs:
be sure to reserve a table at the restaurant, and with kids get there early as it can get full and then they struggle a bit...
There's no aircon. There are fans and they were fine for us
It is rural and rustic.
Some minor suggestions
Bundle in the linen and towels price (even at a higher price) - feels better when you are already paying a lot in summer
Have a wine event
Put some natural garden furniture in rather than the plastic
Loved the Domaine. Spent two holidays there two years running and would go back again if I could afford it. The villas are very spacious and well equipped. Pool areas well maintained and suited to all ages. Good base for sightseeing as easy access by car to local villages, towns and cities. 'Restaurant and wine excellent and well priced. Also did a few barbeques and enjoyed relaxing on the patio in the Sun.
Mix of adults small children and a teenager all enjoyed the holiday. Would recommend it withour hesitation.
