Wonderful stay!
We loved staying here with our two young children! Short walk to the beach, great neighborhood and neighbors. Kitchen had everything we needed and there were lots of games, puzzles, etc for the kids. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

We had a wonderful stay!
Updated, clean, cozy cottage. Comfortable inside and a great back yard for grilling and hanging out. Fenced in yard for my young son to run around. We loved having the wagon to bring all our stuff to the beach in one trip! Perfect beach for young children. Friendly neighborhood. Owners were fantastic as well!

About the host

Hello! We have lovingly restored this pretty little New England cottage and named it Attersee after the resort town in Austria where artist Gustav Klimt vacationed and painted throughout his life. We usually keep this cottage to ourselves but we can't be here all season so we are opening up some weeks to share with others like you. Our friends and family absolutely love visiting us here. We know you will love it, too!

Why they chose this property

From the moment you step inside this cottage you immediately feel like you're on vacation. Close to all of the great shopping and fun the coastal town of Old Saybrook, CT has to offer. The sun porch is a favorite place in the morning but most of our entertaining is done in the afternoon on the back deck with private backyard. The beaches are great, the neighbors are friendly, it's not crowded, and it is the best of what the Connecticut shoreline offers including great boutiques, outlets, antiques shopping, summer festivals on the town green, great live music and performances at The Kate, close access to the Florence Griswold Museum, the fabulous Essex Steam Train, and the best restaurants up and down Route 1. Oh, and don't forget the Dairy Queen is only 1/2 mile away!

What makes this property unique

There's nothing like an outdoor shower after a day at the beach.
