About this property

Monthly Rental Farmhouse

The Hampton Hideaway provides an unmatched serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. This was the home of Wilmer Hampton, founder of Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort and is nestled in a valley of 20 acres of cherry orchards and 600 acres of forest. The Hideaway is located about 6 miles (15 minutes) from the Hampton Lodge at Mission Ridge and about 15 minutes from downtown Wenatchee. Close enough to enjoy the town and far enough to have the out in the country feel. Enjoy walking through the forest along an old logging road or make your own trail. Climb a hill for a great view of the sunrise. Glide down our sledding hill for some wintertime fun. Find a quiet spot for a picnic. Gaze upon the deer feeding in the early morning or listen to the owls hooting at night. Enjoy the view of a star-filled sky while relaxing in your private 8 seat hot tub. The Hampton Hideaway is furnished with 3 queen beds in separate rooms and 3 twin beds in one room. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 9. A comfortable living room has large screen Smart TV with complimentary Netflix, ready to log into your own streaming service. Wireless internet service. The 1940’s Hampton Hideaway barn is available as an event venue. See our web site www.HamptonHideaway.net or the Hampton Hideaway Facebook page for more information. Whether you are planning an extended family vacation or are visiting for business, the Wenatchee Valley has an adventure for you. With four distinct seasons, 300 sunshine-filled days a year, a river running through town and mountains so close you can touch them, your stay in Wenatchee Valley will be memorable. We are taking extra precautions to clean and disinfect our home between guests. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. Updated farmhouse
Original farmhouse with the old charm and updated amenities, dishwasher, aircon, etc. The house is comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and functional. The aircon almost keeps up on the hot days (June/July) downstairs, less so upstairs. The climate cools off enough at night to open windows (screened) for sleeping. It's usually 10 degrees cooler at the house than down in town on hot days. There's wildlife in the yard, and it's quiet at night so you can hear the night critters. The hosts are very responsive, but didn't bother us when we didn't need them. This is a great place to stay.

Early December Visit
Our group really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Hideaway. Location was perfect - convenient to get to town and to Mission Ridge, but also private and not near major roads. Everything worked as expected - wifi was fast, and hot tub was hot. JoAnn was also very quick to reply to any questions we had before and during our stay. This is now my #1 choice for lodging when I am in Wenatchee.

Fantastic farmhouse hideaway
The place was perfect for our short stay. Very clean and private. The wildlife was unbelievable. On our third day there we saw two young moose in the Fields early in the morning and four dear in the Apple orchards that afternoon. Even though it’s cold outside the Jacuzzi was nice and warm

Family Holiday
Excellent experience from start to finish! We had a group of eight family members gathering for Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed our stay. The amenities on the property are as described and the home is well equipped. The location is beautiful and was a short trip to Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee State Park. We would definitely reserve again or recommend this property for family vacations.

Great Place/Great Location
We only got to spend a couple nights, but this place provided us with everything we needed. There were piety of beds and bedrooms to accommodate our four children. The kitchen was plenty large and equipped for the two mornings we cooked breakfast. We really enjoyed being outside and walking the property. The hot tub was a nice touch and got plenty of use. We did have a few questions but they were answered quickly. I’m leaving out things I’m sure but this is a place that we would stay at again….in a heartbeat.

About the host

Hosted by JoAnn Hampton

Host profile image
Greg Hampton was born and raised in Wenatchee. His dad, Wilmer, founded Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort. Greg is an avid skier and was a ski jumper as a kid. He and JoAnn met while serving as Air Force officers at a US base in England. They were married in her home town in New Jersey. After their active duty tours were over, they settled on the family homestead in the Squilchuck area of Wenatchee. They have both retired from the military.
Greg manages the family cherry orchard and teaches mathematics at the community college. JoAnn is a retired home health physical therapist. They have four married children and 7 grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in the Hampton family for over 100 years. The original homestead was built in the early 1900's. The Hideaway was built by second generation Hamptons in the 1940's. Greg and JoAnn are 3rd generation Hamptons and built their home on the hill over looking the orchards.

What makes this property unique

Before Greg and JoAnn moved back to Wenatchee, they would visit his Mom who lived in what we now call the Hampton Hideaway. It was always a pleasure to watch the sunrise from the living room. There is always lots of room to explore nature and watch the wildlife.
