About CARMEN

MADRID is the place to be!!!! I am a world traveler who prefers to stay at vacation rental properties because there is nothing more than having a place you can call home. What better way to soak up the local culture than to feel a part of the neighborhood? This is what I extend to my guests when they stay at my place. For those who want to be more than just a tourist passing by, you will find living in LATINA PALACE and LATINA SOL an experience you will never forget.

CARMEN purchased this apartment in 2008

Why CARMEN chose Madrid Center

It is a unique property from 1749 fully refurnished on an unbeatable location.

What makes this apartment unique

There are a huge number of things to do in Madrid, but it is often the famous Madrid shopping streets that lure people into renting Madrid accommodation. The fashion boutiques and local craft shops which adorn the central business district mean that shopping holidays in Madrid are never far from the top of the list for shopping destinations. The huge range of styles and cuisine of Madrid restaurants also helps to keep energy levels high, and fantastic cooking courses lasting between a single session and a whole week can easily be arranged. The medieval centre of Madrid hides many fantastic monuments. Those taking a Madrid weekend break are best staying in accommodation close to the historic centre, as there is so much here that you can fit a huge amount into just a short Madrid city break. The ‘big three’ museums in Madrid, the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia, hold famous collections of art, and tourism in Madrid is often centred around the Puerta del Sol right in the city centre.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We spent 5 beautiful days from the 13th to the 17th in Madrid. Sol has already expected us with the arrival, the processing is uncomplicated. The house (Santa Ana 5persons) is very clean top, well furnished, and has a well fitted out kitchen. The position is great, one can reach a lot on foot. With radiant blue sky we had a mad short trip. Barbara "Wir verbrachten 5 wunderschöne Tage vom 13.-17 in Madrid. Sol hat uns bei der Ankunft schon erwartet, die Abwicklung ist unkompliziert. Die Wohnung (Santa Ana 5Personen) ist top, gut eingerichtet, sehr sauber und hat eine gut ausgestattete Küche. Die Lage ist super, man kann vieles zu Fuß erreichen . Mit strahlend blauem Himmel hatten wir einen tollen Kurzurlaub. Barbara"

Awesome spacious apartment in the middle of everything!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in 5 apartments on a recent visit to Spain and this was by far the most spacious. Super gracious host! Cool air conditioning, everything super functional and location if you want to see touristy things - in the middle of it all. It can get a bit noisy at night because it is so close to las ramblas and on a busy pediestrian street but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Nice little apartment in a great area of Madrid

  • 4 of 5

First I'd like to say that the owner, Carmen, and her assistant, Sol, were both wonderful and very helpful. La Latina is a cute little apartment with all of the major necessities covered such as AC, Wi-Fi, well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and hair dryer. But we found two concerns that could be improved on. The first is fairly major – the beds had very thin mattresses on a hard base which made for some uncomfortable nights. In fact one night one of the boards that the mattress rests on fell on the floor, but was easily replaced. And while there was a very modern flat-screen television, there were no English-speaking channels available such as CNN, Sky News etcetera. This is a minor issue but would make the stay that much more pleasant. On a positive note, there are many good restaurants and Tapas bars in the area and the famous flea market, El Rastro, is only a block away on Sundays.

Great location!

  • 3 of 5

The location is amazing, if you don't mind staying in a "half clean" place it is perfect, really need some cleanliness attention ! The bath towels were like "sandpaper" that was my 7-year old words and we totally agreed. The bathroom is really small and while taking a shower the water passes through the glass shower making the whole place full of water. Other than that, all the appliances worked really well

Wonderful apartment in the perfect location in The heart of Madrid.

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment...modern..updated...Great kitchen and bathroom...Comfortable beds and great living room to relax in with great amenities and wi-fi. The location is central and easy to access...minutes from the great museums..the train station and Puerto Del Sol. It is Madrid...so with an understanding of how loud Madrid is at night this location is about average for noise with complete closing shutters to help dampen the noise. Also, one of the top Flamenco bars is directly below and has a certain level of noise associated with that. But, that being said, the noise never distracted from our enjoyment of the apartment. Carmen the owner was wonderful in communication and arrangements for initial meeting and making sure we were satisfied.

Short-term Home Rental done right!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment has everything you could need for a stay in Madrid! It is perfectly located within walking distance to all the major attractions in the city. The area has a wonderful atmosphere and there are lots of lovely independent shops and restaurants nearby. The host was so lovely and accommodating. She did her best to assist us in any way that she could during our stay. I cannot say enough good things about the apartment or recommend it enough. It is spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Madrid and would highly recommend it to anybody!!

Exactly what we needed, great location, clean, beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

After some 10 years of experience with apartments during our city trips, this apartment turned out to be the best we ever had. It was very comfortable, clean, completely equipped, with elevator, very quiet, with bus stops immediately at the apartment and a metro station on 1 minute walking distance, with a supermarket on the other side of the street, and a panaderia (bakery) with fresh croissants at about 50 meters, already opening at 7.30. The apartment owner is very kind, and always reacts quickly on email or SMS. It was really nice staying there.
