3 Bedroom apartment, sleeps 8, in the centre of Veysonnaz

Overview

Property

Updated: 20-Nov-2016
Veysonnaz, 4 Vallees,Switzerland, great for skiing and beautiful summers

Our apartment is located in the centre of Veysonnaz close to all the restaurants, bars and shops. It has a comfortable living area with seating for 8, cable TV and a door on to the front balcony where your will be treated to uninterrupted views of the Rhone valley and Nendaz and sun in the afternoons. There are 3 good sized bedrooms, 1 with access to a balcony, which is bathed with sun in the mornings and has great mountain views. We are located beside the village swimming pool and wellness centre and despite our central location you can still stand on the balcony's and listen to the silence.

Summer is beautiful in Veysonnaz. The temperature is usually around 30 degrees and with the cool evenings it is perfect for a family summer holiday. Forget the chaos of Spain enjoy an active summer in the Swiss Alps.

Many people choose the Autumn for hiking as the weather is cooler and the autumn colours are spectacular.

The winter in Veysonnaz is really special with a direct gondola into one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland. The 4 Vallees

Fantastic location, not only for skying.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this appartment from the 29th Juni 2013 to the 6th August 2013 and we really enjoyed our summer vacation here. We were only two, but needed two separate bedrooms.

Since we live down in the valley in Sion, we had the occasion to visit the appartment before renting it.

On the plus side :

The appartment offers a fantastic view over the Alpine mountains and the Rhône valley, as described on this website and even better. You have to see it to believe it. No a single building hiding the view on the west balcony; from the east balcony, you get a glimpse on the station and the pool and a sideview on other mountains.

The appartment is ideally located : in the very center of the small station, where are the shops and the restaurants. If you just want to walk and enjoy your time, there are a lot of trekking and walking possibilities, starting just behind the house. Not all are steep : there is a lovely possibility to walk on a flat terrain along the Bisse de Vex. A bisse is a small aqueduct, which used to bring water from the faraway glacier down to irrigate the rather dry fields. The trail goes on gently for miles, you can wander along it hearing the lapping and splashing of the water and to the numberous birds. You cross cool woods and flowering meadows. Each lateral valley has at least one to offer and the one in Veysonnaz is especially agreable. Children uses to get very excited by the flowing waters, but older couples would enjoy the effortless walk just as much.

We enjoyed the appartment itself too : it is simply decorated in three dominant colors : black, white and red. There is nothing kitsch in it trying to remember you of past life.. We found that smart. The appartment was probably built between the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties and reflects the standard of ski resorts built during that period. There are two rooms offering twin beds with overhanging cupboards and just that and a third room with two stacked beds and a drawing cupboard. One of the twin bedrooms is not very bright because the over hanging roof takes some light away, but the other opens on the second balcony. The rooms are mainly there to afford sleeping. The living room forms a L, one branch of the L contains the salon and the other the dining table and a TV corner. The L living room opens on the south west balcony and enjoys a lot of natural light.

On the negative side (there should be a negative in each review, isn’t ?) see next.

Well maintained apartment with great views

  • 5 of 5

Great place fora skiing holiday -but having also visited in summer offers spectacular scenery all year round. The description on holiday rentals barely does it justice -see owners own website for more info. 3 Bedrooms makes it very comfortable for 6 -with larger living area than most skiing apartments. Location ideal for facilities and gondola. Local agent efficient and helpful -all costs carefully outlined before arrival.

Views from apartment are unparallelled....

After having booked and paid for the accommodation we had a nail-biting few weeks of waiting to see whether the owner was genuine as he failed to acknowledge our payment and repeatedly hung up when we tried to call. Very strange! We had to play detective and contact local agencies to find the caretaker. Not sure if the booking would have been honoured otherwise. After we had settled the bill in full with the caretaker upon arrival as instructed by the owner she also had the cheek to come back and demand more money from us and then kept our deposit. Listed description not accurate. Apartment was small, cramped and ill-fitted (the kitchen was not functional - even the kitchen bin had to be stored in the hall as not enough room!) Many items eg TV, dvd & controls broken. No internet connection and no working fireplace as advertised. Tourist board needs to start controlling. Skiing is fantastic - top quality. Shame that the accommodation and service spoils the wonderful location.

Owner's Response: Ramon I am really disappointed to get my first poor responce in 7 years of renting our apartment and it was also difficult for us to need to keep the security deposit for the first time ever. We try really hard to respond as quickly as possible to requests and if it is not possible to answer the phone during a business meeting we try to make contact later. I spoke to you twice and your wife once. When someone requests a price I send a total price broken down so my potential guests know exactly what they pay me and what they pay on arrival and fortunately this has worked well over the years. I apologise for the fire not working, i did inform you prior to arrival. With regards to the TV and DVD player these have been tested and are both working. I must apologise for the controls being damaged which i was unaware of, I have recently purchased a new TV. I cannot understand why you thought there was WIFI in the building We discussed this on one of our phone calls and I explained that the Bar located 100mtrs from the apartment has great wifi as does the Greppon Blanc restaurant 100mtrs Our apartment kitchen is small and the bin is outside the door but it is a fully functioning kitchen with a new cooker, fridge, dishwasher and all utensils. we have made many great family meals in it. As we always want our guests to love our apartment as much as we do and we are really upset that you did not enjoy your time with us, as a gesture of good will I am prepared to pay my "Caretaker" the amount that you left without paying her.

Thank you for the great New Year's vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 wonderfull weeks in this lovely apartment. It was a perfect home for us: 3 adults and 2 kids (6 and 1 years old), very comfortable and children-friendly. I really felt like home from the very first day of our staying.

The location is great: not far from the ski lifts, very close to restaurants, bars, a supermarket, shops. ski rentals, just 20 meters from the swimming pool and sauna (I used to go there almost every day after skiing), with a fantastic view from the balcony, very quiet. We used to walk to the ski lift with our 6 years old son and he did not complain although it was 500 m away and there was a ski bus stop approx.100 m away from our house. The children's playground is about 200 m. uphill but we did not have any problems to get there - my wife's mother took our 1-year old daughter there every day while we were skiing with our old son.

The kitchen is very well equipped and we had everything we needed. We had to cook for our daughter every day and we often had dinners at home and there was always enough kitchen utensils.

Thank you very much, Alan, for your apartment, for your hospitality and for taking such good care of us! We would love to come again and we'll definitely recommend your appartment to our friends and everyone who loves the home atmosphere while travelling!

Veysonnaz

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 quiet weeks in this apartment. It was very close to all amenities and even our 2year old was able to walk to the ski lifts without tiring herself out!!

The pistes are great for all the family and après-ski involved going to the swimming pool which is literally across the road.

We enjoyed our stay and would willingly return.

Location

From the Owner

I bought our apartment because the area is so beautiful and the views from both balconies are hard to describe. pictures don't really do it justice. The area caters for everyone and is perfect for my kids, in the summer they spend hours at the pool which is next door. In the winter they can walk to the gondola and get into the heart of all the 4 vallees has to offer, over 400km of prepared ski runs.

Facilities

From the Owner

We love sitting on our balcony watching the sun go down and watching as the lights in the valley start to twinkle in the distance. I can walk over to the local bar which caters for locals and tourists and a 6 minute stroll takes us to the gondola

Notes:

  • Veysonnaz is a fantastic summer destination. The weather is great with temperatures of over 30 degrees. There are plenty of activities for those of you who want to be active in the great outdoors. In winter it becomes part of the biggest ski area in Switzerland the 4 Vallees with over 400km to choose from. it is rare to queue for lifts in the winter
