About the property

The Blue House, is a pretty 4 bed cottage, in its own private garden of 2 acres. The house has been completely refurbished. It has fabulous sea views over the Western Solent with a woodland walk down to the beach. It has been featured in Coast magazine.

Located in the village of Gurnard on the Isle of Wight 'The Blue House' has four bedrooms overlooking the garden, a large contemporary living area with vaulted ceiling with a glass and Oak gable looking directly over the sea, and a wrap around deck with fabulous views over to the New Forest and the famous sunset.

The bedrooms all feature luxurious beds with cotton sheets and all natural feather and goose down duvets and pillows, the master bedroom has a large en suite bathroom and glass doors that open on to the deck and the romantic sea view.

The 'big' room has a spacious kitchen and large sitting room with a log fire.

The house is completely private and totally secluded, yet within walking distance of a great pub and shops. Single level makes it ideal for people with limited mobility as well.

The showers are all Aqualisa mains pressure powered showers with an electronically balanced safety thermostat. There is a seperate, third loo/cloakroom.

  • The master bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and is a large comfortable bedroom with french windows that open up entirely onto the deck and the garden, There is a a fabulous view of the sea. The Garden Bedroom also has french windows which open onto the deck and the garden with another romantic view of the sea. Bedrooms 3 and 4 both have single beds, which can be converted to double beds on request. ALL our beds are new and luxurious, with crisp cotton sheets, all natural feather pillows and duvets.

Notes:
We welcome well behaved children and dogs, the house is particularly suitable for elderly or infirm people because its all on one floor. If you have a wheel chair please let us know so that we can ensure ramps are situated on any steps. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the tools necessary for the keen chef. The sitting room is beautifully furnished with a big comfy sofa, armchairs and a big telly. Wireless broadband is available throughout the house. The kitchen has french windows out to a terrace that gets the morning sun and the sitting room also has french windows that open out onto the wrap around deck and the fabulous sea views.

Owner's Response: Great to get another nice review! Now the winters here its time to think about those wild cliff top walks, great pub lunches and then coming back to tea and the log fire. Wildlife is still vibrant especially the red squirrels hunting for food. There must be more bridleways and seaside walking/cycling per square mile on the island than anywhere else in Britain.

Family holiday was perfect in this lovely house in Gurnard. Met all our requirements and more. Great walks, visits to the beach, to Cowes for end of the regatta, the Fastnet, gorgeous meals out and BBQs in the garden overlooking the Solent.

A lovely property in a great position with stunning views across the solent.

We were a family of 7 including 2 teenagers. The cottage was well appointed, spacious and clean. The location was ideal and easy to find. We loved the décor and the position with its great views and proximity to the beach. Highly recommended!

The village of Gurnard is right next to the famous yachting centre of Cowes. The popular Gurnard Sailing Club is two minutes walk away. Local facilities include; pubs, paper shops and a greengrocer. The island is a great place for visitors especially children with a wealth of activities including: cycling,walking,windsurfing,sailing,tennis and numerous attractions and activity centres.

We can arrange yacht charters, rib rides, fishing trips and even parascending. You name it and the island probably does it.

For walkers there are hundreds of spectacular walks across downland and headland, bridleways criss cross the island.

A short walk down through your private wood takes you to your beach, great for evening swims, bar-b-Q's, fishing or just watching the sun go down with a beer in your hand.

For wildlife enthusiasts the garden is a haven for Red Squirrel, badgers, foxes, woodpeckers and numerous other birds.
