About this property

This rural mountain location is very private and enchanting - yet only a few miles from restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, etc.!!
It is situated in approximately a 2-acre clearing near the back of almost 10 wooded acres. The road is not visible from the chalet. The lane is 1/10 mile long (through the woods).
You may see wildlife while soaking in the hot tub, sitting on the deck or patio, or exploring the woods. There are several trails in our woods and a peaceful area by the creek to relax in a hammock, lay on the loungers, or relax on the swing while enjoying the stream or a campfire.

Our year-round hot tub (with an ozone-based purification system) is sunken into the patio for easy entry and exit.

Relax on the loungers by the outdoor fireplace after unwinding in the hot tub while smelling your steak on the propane grill or hamburgers over the fire.

There is accent lighting on the stone wall, fireplace, hot tub, wall/post lights, and area security lighting. You can control this lighting to create the most elegant and romantic outdoor experience.

There is an outdoor shower on the patio to rinse off before or cool off after your hot tub experience.

Watch a cheerful fire burning in the fireplace on the patio, thru the patio doors, from the comfortable inclining queen bed.

Watch the sun go down in the west from the indoor Jacuzzi near the front windows in the main room.

The modern kitchen with granite countertops has stainless steel appliances, including a fridge/freezer, full range, microwave, toaster oven, blender, and Keurig coffee maker.
Included in the rental is...
- guest use of the washer and dryer on the ground floor
- firewood for the outdoor fireplace
- unlimited incoming and outgoing calls to anywhere in the United States and Canada on the phone in the chalet
- high-speed internet (WIFI) by Comcast.

For your safety and peace of mind, a fully automatic generator (power standby) unit is installed to provide full power to this property and all its amenities in the rare event of a power outage in the area.

WEEKEND RESERVATION POLICY...
We give priority to the guests who want to reserve the whole weekend (Friday through Monday). However, we will gladly accept a shorter stay if the weekend gets closer and it isn't booked. (Exceptions may also be made on a case-by-case basis).
Not having changeovers on Saturdays or Sundays allow the housekeepers a weekend break and the ability to worship on the Lord's Day.

Birthday getaway

My beautiful wife decided to make a birthday present for me for my 32nd. So she decided to surprise me with this dream getaway. Truly felt like a dream. Time well spent, good aroma, atmosphere and loved the record player. Felt really clean and hospitality part of the owners. Thank you, will be planning to return soon!

Above and Beyond

As you enter this scenic and very private lot on the mountain, each expectation we had was exceeded. From the soft music when you enter the door to the upper loft room(surprise), to the breathtaking view from the hot tub and chocolates by the jacuzzi. Everything was perfect. Terry and Bev have gone above and beyond to make this a spectacular experience. It was well worth the 10 hr drive to celebrate our 9th anniversary here. We hope to be back!!! Private Hills Chalet is clean , private and a very romantic place.

Our most enjoyable stay ever as a couple!

We were so blessed to find this wonderful little chalet almost in our backyard (4minutes from home), but felt like we could have been in another country:) It was such a cozy delightful property, very private. We enjoyed the music playing as we arrived, cooked our own steaks and ate them on the beautiful back patio, built a fire to warm up by as we read our magazines, and soaked in the outdoor hot tub while watching the moon and stars! We took a walk on the trail through the woods and along the back country road. Every thing was very clean and detailed directions were included on how to use everything on the property. We could not have been happier in renting this wonderful property. It was the perfect spot to get away and celebrate our 17th anniversary! And we hope to go back in the future!!!

We have traveled to the Poconos, Tennessee, Costa Rica, Italy, Puerto Rica, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Florida, and other places internationally in search of and staying at nice couple's getaways that offer outdoor privacy with room to roam. We often wished there would be a place like this closer to home. The Private Hills Chalet is just that!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because of the private setting, the view, the creek, the woods, and the cozy A-frame cabin.
The close proximity to hiking trails, bird watching, and bike trails make this a good option for nature lovers to immerse in God's creation.
Within 20 - 30 minutes, guests can be at large markets like the Green Dragon on Fridays or upscale restaurants in the Reading area.

What makes this property unique

We like properties with an outdoor hot tub that offers a view (not right next to the building) and is not visible from the road. We also wanted an outdoor fireplace to allow the guests to cook food over an open wood fire (crate provided) and snuggle in front of the fireplace on the double lounger after de-stressing in the hot tub.
We also have trails through our woods and a 'spot' down by the creek for you to enjoy nature in privacy.
