Fabulous cottage with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous cottage in a great location, the kitchen was wonderful I want one just like it at home. The weather was what we expected but it didn't,t spoil our stay because there were so many drives with the most amazing views and the Abby at Kylemore is a must, the cake is so good. The view from the cottage is fabulous and is constantly changing.

If I had ant criticism it is that it needs a larger t.v. It was ok for us as a couple but if you have children they want a bigger tv to use play stations and x boxes on.

Fantastic Property

  • 5 of 5

Really lovely property expertly managed by Tom who has been helpful prior during and after our trip. The house is clean, very well provisioned and is in a perfect location for all this wonderful region has to offer. We visited Inishbofin, Kylemore, Letterfrack bay boat tour, the kids (2&5) climbed to the top of Diamond Hill with us. Eating out in Clifden, Tully Cross and Cleggan (Oliver's) all exceptional.

We saw Corncrakes, Dolphins, huge flights of Curlew and the beaches were deserted stretches of white sand fronted by opal sea and backed by majestic mountains. Tom was always on hand to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Magnifique maison

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Moyard is a rural town-land situated 5 miles from Clifden, the capital of Connemara, and 3 miles from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park and 5 miles from Kylemore Abbey on the N59. Many visitors find Moyard a central point from which to tour and enjoy Connemara. Moyard is also 5 miles from Cleggan village and the gateway to Inishbofin Island. The scenery in North West Connemara is a breathtaking and ever-changing landscape of majestic mountains, spectacular beaches, prehistoric bogs and mist covered lakes. Moyard is at the heart of this scenery and within these acres of scenery there is a choice of activities, places to visits, shops, modern conveniences, restaurants and lively pubs. Sandy beaches, mountains, walks, horse riding. Our house overlooks a lake and is situated on a quiet road with stunning views over Garrenbaun lake and still not far away from all the amenities.

Golf: Connemara Golf course is under a half hour drive from the house and it is a 26 hole links course situation beside beautiful white beaches perfect for walking. The club house with restaurant/bar on the top floor is the perfect place to meet up after a round of golf.

The latest visitor attraction in the area is the Wild Atlantic Way - http://www.failteireland.ie/wildatlanticway - a great name to describe our rugged coastline and its beauty.

Notes:

  • The house was designed to maximize the light which floods through the sun room, hallways and into the kitchen/dining room. The large sun room at the rear of the house offers another seating area distinct from the sitting room and that leads onto an extensive paved patio areas which is totally secluded. Up from the patio is a stepped area which leads to another seating area high above the house which offers views of the lake and surrounding mountains and is also completely private.
