Located in 'Portes du Soleil',a luxury self catering apartement,close ski slope

Our old furnished luxury apartment is located on the 650 km pistes of the France-Switzerland domain 'les Portes du Soleil'. Les Crosets is an alpine Switzerland village at 1680 m. You are quiet sure to get snow!

The apartment is ski in out, looking over 'les Dents du Midi'. Restaurant, coffee shop, little grocerie, ski hiring facilities are on the doorstep.The apartment provides luxury accommodation for 6-8 adults. The large open plan living area with flat TV and real fireplace is surrounded by 3 side gallery, possibly dinning outdoor. The dining area has seats up for 8 and the open kitchen is modern equipped (oven, micro-waves,dishwasher). The master bedroom (2 beds)has an en suite shower room and wardrobe. The two other bedrooms share a full equipped bathroom. One bedroom has 2 beds, the other one has bunks beds (4 beds). All bedrooms have cupboard space and mountain views from the large balcony. Two garage parking and ski locker are in the basement.

Ski: The resort is ski in ski out , the lift is very closed .It is going straight to the 3 main Swiss lifts (Crosets2, Mossette,Grand Conche). Mossette lift go straight to France part of the domain .

Just close is also the children trail and the Swiss snow school.

Thermal : just few kilometers down there is a thermal center , hot water ,half open air .

Lift from the basement to the flat. In the basement : two car parking and skis lockers. In winter from the garage entrance you are ski in ski out .

We stayed at this apartement in january 2009 and we enjoyed it very much. Good kitchen equipment, new good beds, very nice furniture, extraordinary pictures. ( A lot of snow....)

Charming and convenient.

The apartment has some charming antique clocks and has been furnished lovingly by its owner. The beds and sofas are most comfortable. The view from the living area affords the chance, whilst you are lying on the sofa, to watch the aerobatics of the freestylers on the jumps alongside the TSD Les Crosets chairlift!

The apartment is in a block which has a little supermarket on the ground floor. However, you might consider taking your week's food with you or shop in Monthey on the way up, (the apartment has a good sized freezer). It is well equipped. The only thing we missed, being English and liking tea, was a kettle but boiling water in a pan is not any sort of problem. The ski shop is in the block next door to the apartment.

There is very little apres ski in Les Crosets. There are a couple of restaurants and that is it. If you like to stay in after a day on the slopes and watch DVDs or chat and play cards then it will suit you.

The apartment has Wi-Fi, which functions very well.

The arrangements with regard to keys worked well and the apartment is clean and well maintained.The bedding and towels are of a good standard.

The skiing area is excellent, apart from the Pointe de l'Au chairlift in Champoussin, which is a museum piece and generates an horrendous bottle neck on the circuit. It is possible to do an off-piste traverse to Les Crosets if you are reasonably capable and the avalanche risk is low. However, you risk invalidating your ski cover insurance cover if you have an accident, unless, of course, you are skiing with a guide.

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 teenagers, it was perfect for us and we had a wonderful week, February 2013.

There are several options for arrival; either driving down, fight to Geneva followed by train to Aigle, or further up the valley to Val d'Illiez, with a final taxi transfer, ( sound complicated but works well ), or snow train from St Pancras to Aigle, ( change at Lille ), with onward transfer by taxi or train/taxi.

Luxoureus and spacious appartment

The rooms are lovely and the antiques combined with modern give the rooms a warm and luxourous atmosphere. Bathrooms and kitchen modern equipment. Ideal with four children.

Beds comfortabel. Price/quality : good.

The ski lifts (50meters away) in the area are not as modern as the appartment. People friendly.

Ask for route discription for it is not easy to find, and opening times Immofinances.
