Cosy & well equipped

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is airy and bright and spacious. It has a down stairs bedroom and shower room making it perfect for someone with poor mobility .Upstairs is a master bedroom and smaller bedroom to sleep 3 (children). The upstairs TV lounge is v useful. The kitchen had everything I needed and was well equipped .The garden complete with sauna was v nice.

The cottage is well placed for exploring the local area .The beach at Morfa Nefyn is beautiful .I would stay in this cottage again .

Comfortable and well situated for coastal amenities

  • 4 of 5

Really good wood burner, well resourced in kitchen.would benefit from new pillows. People with young children should be aware of the very busy road outside the cottage.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for posting a review. We have replaced all our pillows in view of your comment. With regard to the road I wouldn't want people to be put off by the suggestion that the cottage is on a very busy road. There are no roads in this part of the Llyn Peninsula that I would describe as very busy!! In order to walk to Morfa Nefyn or the beach there is a public footpath through a field heading towards the coast - which starts a very short distance from the cottage so there is no need to walk along the road (which does not have footpaths) for more than a minute. Finally I should point out that the garden is fully enclosed and there is a gate on the drive so guests do not need to worry about children wandering onto the road. We've had hundreds of families staying here again and again for the last 9 years and children love it - this is the very first time we have had any negative feedback about its suitability for children... So please do read our other reviews and don't let it put you off!

A beautifully renovated property in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a very relaxing 10 day stay in this beautifully renovated property. We would highly recommend a break in this gorgeous boathouse to couples and families alike. The property is very well equipped and very comfortable, the wood burner is fantastic and the welcoming bottle of wine was a lovely touch. The bedrooms are small but perfectly comfortable and the play area with the wii was a huge hit with all of the family.

It is situated in a perfect location for all of the breathtakingly beautiful local beaches and has a fantastic pub at the end of the country lane which serves delicious home cooked food.

The garden is fully secure so ideal for the dog.

Overall we had a lovely stay and would love to visit again very soon.

Outstanding cottage in beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Boom Cottage is one of, if not the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It is modern, stylish, clean, comfortable and warm. All the mod cons you need, but lots of extras - just little things like a chalk board, games, dvds and a wii for the children - all on the mezzanine area...with the modern glass and original wooden beamed balcony to the living room. The garden was just the right size for our dog, who was fascinated by the horse in the adjoining field. Beds were comfortable, nice linens. Kitchen well equipped. Lovely views from the picture window in the main bedroom...a lovely way to wake up. Having Netflix was a nice extra. The heating and hot water worked well, and the log burner was amazingly quick and efficient to use. I always worry about going to cottages out of season that they may feel a bit cold - not Boom Cottage! It was wonderfully warm and cosy. Walks and bike rides from the cottage were beautiful, especially the walk to picturesque Nefyn beach - which was much closer than we thought. Local shops were well stocked, friendly and an easy walk - we could have done a big Tesco delivery for when we arrived, but it wasn't necessary. Owner (Sarah) was really friendly and helpful both before the stay and during it - when we had a query that she dealt with efficiently. Would very highly recommend and we will be back.

Car: recommended

Boom Cottage is located in the small seaside village of Morfa Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula, close to a large selection of beautiful beaches and coastal walks. Short walk to the beach at Morfa Nefyn and the scenic walk to the Ty Coch Pub at the far end of the beach. The cottage is less than a mile from the renowned 27 hole Nefyn & District golf course with stunning sea views from every hole. We have negotiated a 10% discount on green fees for guest staying at Boom Cottage. Seaside town of Pwlhelli is 6 miles away. Close to Abersoch where there is a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants, and sailing schools.
