About the property

Spacious well appointed self catering property with lovely views. Sleeps 8.

There are still plenty of vacancies from mid-August through to December 2017. Christmas and New Year are both still available (price upon application). Please send me an enquiry if you are at all interested.

This property has a 4 star Visit England grading. It has a fitted kitchen with electric oven, hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, CH boiler, fridge and separate freezer. The ground floor is open-plan with large living area including wood burning stove to Inglenook fireplace. There is a separate dining area seating 8 around a large table. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. An imposing staircase takes one to both sides of the property with viewing bridge. The large impressive master bedroom has a wealth of original oak beams, king size bed, ensuite shower room and walk-in wardrobe. Across the bridge there are two attractive bedrooms and a bathroom with bath, shower enclosure and shaver point. Further stairs lead to a 4th bedroom with twin beds and a separate galleried landing area with seating, TV and DVD. Access to the gravelled parking area to front and private lawned garden with flower borders to rear is via a covered verandah.

A superbly appointed base for a holiday!

Just a quick note Claire to say thank you very much for the loan of your lovely spacious barn for our holiday and your hospitality and welcome when we arrived. The place was immaculate and had absolutely everything we needed - in fact the attention to detail you offered was simply outstanding and there wasn't a single item we could think of that wasn't already there. Especially welcoming was the additional supply of local goodies and basic materials - we wanted for nothing. We also made great use of the local information table - the only problem was choosing which of the myriad of activities to do!

Thank you very much once again for everything you did - great accommodation is the foundation for a great holiday and we couldn't have asked for more! A very highly recommended residence.

lovely, well equipped property in beautiful countryside

Near perfect property for the group of 8 of us attending a nearby Connected Riding training at Redbrook Equestrian. Property is extremely well equipped (including kitchen utensils 😃?), comfortable, spacious, has a few 'quirks' giving character (eg low beam in 2nd floor bedroom), lovely and clean.

The only 'niggle' was the showers that seemed to be affected by drop in pressure when water in use elsewhere.

Beautiful views.

Would definitely like to stay here again 😊?

Beautiful location, extremely clean and well cared for. Warm when it was zero degrees outside.

We visited with 2 families of 4. My 8 year old's first reaction as she saw the open plan staircase through the double glass front door was 'wow, is this really all for us?' We had a wonderful time. The setting is so beautiful, with magnificent views. The barn was clean, warm and well equipped. There was a lovely 'welcome basket' when we arrived and the heating was on, which was perfect on a cold winter evening. We will definitely return.

Tastefully renovated barn in a fantastic location, superbly equipped, great personal touches

We thoroughly enjoyed a walking week in the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean. It was lovely to come back to the barn each evening...it really felt like home from home. We wholeheartedly recommend anyone else to visit and would like to thank Claire for all the personal touches and for helping to make it such a memorable and relaxing week.

Well equipped accommodation in a beautiful location

A really well equipped barn conversion with everything you could need including a lovely welcome basket. We were a party of 8 and it was a perfect size with plenty of room for everyone. The location feels remote but just a short drive from Monmouth so the best of both worlds. We will definately be visiting again in the next few months.

This converted Grade II listed 18th Century stone threshing barn is situated 4 miles from the historic border town of Monmouth, in the picturesque Monnow Valley. Monmouth, the birthplace of Henry V and Charles Rolls, is in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Wye Valley. Close by is the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. The Cathedral City of Hereford, on the River Wye, home of the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library(www.herefordcathedral.org/visit-us/mappa-mundi-1), is about 16 miles to the North and Ross-on-Wye, the birthplace of English Tourism, is some 10 miles distance. The Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park are within easy reach for the enthusiastic walker, with Brecon and its Cathedral close by, less than an hours’ drive away. The Glamorgan Heritage Coast, Cardiff Bay, Swansea and the Gower Peninsular are also within easy reach for glorious days out. There is some beautiful local countryside surrounding this barn with lots of footpaths and many walks. En-route there are some lovely country pubs and fine restaurants, eg The Bell at Skenfrith (award winning).
