Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Nov-2016

This brand new luxury house with a private garden, has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and is set in the Residencial Moraira Sport complex with its communal areas and two big swimming pools (one heated 1 week before Easter and 1 week after Easter ). This house is ideal for families seeking relaxation, being just 2 minutes from the beach and having great views. You will love this perfect house for holidays or long term lets. This new luxury complex has private gardens, all integrated in spacious green zones, and various communal areas with a big swimming pool and paddle court, in addition to woodland exercise zone equipped with gymnasium apparatus and children play area. With ultra-modern technology of the very highest standards, this is a home where there is nothing missing, with every amenity within your reach. The property has air conditioning and central heating. You will love it.

Weather: Moraira enjoys a subtropical Mediterranean climate, with sea breezes cooling the area in summer and in winter getting protection from the cold North winds from the surrounding mountains. The area averages some 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature exceeds 20 degrees. On average there are 325 sunny days each year. In 1986 the World Health Organisation commended the Moraira climate as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter.

History: Moraira covers 32 sq.kms. with more than 2,000 hectares under cultivation and 1,000 hectares of vineyards. The vineyard area is up in the hills where the land is not so valuable for villa development.

Objects found in a cave (Cova de la Cendra) on the Cap d´Or ( the headland that protects Moraira´s and El Portet beaches) revealed that there has been human habitation in Moraira for thousands of years. The first settlers (Upper Palaeolithic 15,000 to 20,000 BC) lived here.

The Iberians later arrived in the area and pots from their culture have been unearthed on the Cap d´Or .

Later as elsewhere along the Spanish Mediterranean Coast, the Moors conquered the area. The relics of Moorish society are seen still today in the architecture of the buildings, the irrigation and agricultural systems and town layouts. Many of the names used for areas of Moraira have come from the Moors.

Legend...: There is a legend that Moraira was named after the Moorish princess 'Ira, la Mora' - hence 'Mora Ira'. This may or may not be true. However there is no truth in the tale that her bones are buried under the old castle on the main beach (now restored as a historical monument and museum).

At the end of the 18th century, when Teulada was a farming village, crops were exported by sea from the natural ports. As time went by, locals started turn to fishing as a source of income. The small houses where the tackle used to be stored, were enlarged to become fishermen's houses. This was how Moraira as a village came to be developed.

***Please note that during the peak season (June-September) we only rent the property fro Saturdays to Saturdays***

About the Owner

Hi! I know Moraira since... always. My parents bought a house in Moraira when I was a little boy. My family (my parents, my sister and brother) and I have spent our holidays (Christmas, Easter and summer) in Moraira for the last 35 years. Even if I've had the chance to travel all around the world (I work for Eurosport TV as a journalist in Paris), I have to say that Moraira has something very very special. I grew up in Madrid and, as a child, I always wanted to come back to Moraira. Now I live in Paris and my wife and I have a 1 year old baby-girl who already loves Moraira. We spent a fantastic time with her this summer. In fact we all had a great time: my parents, my sister, my brother, my wife, my baby and I. If you know Moraira you already know that the place is just wonderful, but if you don't know it yet I'm sure that you'll agree with me as soon as you come.

From the point of booking to leaving, I cannot recommend this enough. Normally we stay in hotels so the first time staying in this type of accommodation, I naturally had many questions. Daniel the owner was such a great guy, responding quickly and was generally really helpful. Ximo, who met us on arrival was also really helpful. The accommodation was lovely and clean, well maintained and modern. The complex itself was also great with 2 decent pools. The location is a little out of Moraira but it was so lovely and peaceful and with a car, it was easy to reach the beautiful town and beach. We would definitely stay here again and if you book, you won't be disappointed.

Where do you start with such a lovely trip. We arrived to meet Ximo the on site maintenance guy who was delightful, couldn't do enough for us.

We then entered a clean, well equipped lovely home with all the amenities that you could require.

We stayed for 4 days and drove to all the main sites which are breath taking, we ate locally on the recommendation of Daniel the property owner- his recommendations were outstanding we never were disappointed .

To top this off we needed some advice from Daniel on the area for a potential purchase -he simply couldn't do enough for us, offered estate advice, local knowledge and even offered to contact family and friends to assist us what a fantastic guy. Would not hesitate to go back. This says it all -thank you Daniel and Ximo for the perfect stay.

Our second stay once again most enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

A lovely stay in a very quiet area, the villa is superb with plenty of space, the bedrooms are airconditioned which is a real bonus.

The complex has two pools which never seem busy. There is within about 1km a very well stocked supermarket with a few bars opposite and a Chinese restaurant. We hired a car which is a must, Moraira is a nice downhill walk for the fit but is a good uphill walk back. The callows you to expore the surrounding area and a trip inland up the hills is a must

The town is lovely with plenty of well priced places to eat. Daniel the owner is very helpful and quick to respond to any queries..

If you have as nice a time as we did you will have a nice holiday

Clean, modern and homely.

  • 5 of 5

The villa was lovely and was safe for children due to the safety gate at the top of the stairs. The private garden with loungers was also lovely. The air conditioning and Internet were also amazing and we had absolutely no problems connecting. However, unfortunately we only found one UK TV channel which was the news and so was a bit of a pain in the evenings as the children got a bit bored when staying in.

Although the villa was 2km from the beach as advertised it was a long walk in the heat and so a car would be helpful for getting in and out of the town. The villas layout was very good and the built in BBQ was an added bonus. The swimming pool was also a good size and very clean and went from very shallow to deep. The general area was very well kept and quiet and relaxing.

Ximo (the representative) was also very kind and helpful.

very clean,well presented and spacious

  • 5 of 5

Had a very restful and relaxing week at Daniels villa in lovely Moraira, tha villa is set high in the hills so a car is a must, we travelled to the villa from Alicante airport which we found very easy with Daniels detailed instructions. The villa is clean modern and spacious, with the bonus of air con, and it catered well for all our needs, and you have the use of two pools. The main beach in the town was clean, it got very busy and an umbrella is a must, you can hire umbrellas and sunbeds quite pricey at 6 euros each, parking was free and there's a bar. The town has many restaurants to choose and the area had a good lively atmosphere about it, we explored the area a little and felt that Moraira was the prettiest town, with plenty to do for all ages.

Close to the villa was a small Carrefour and a lidl, the Carrefour was well stocked and had some great options to use on the bbq at the villa.all round a great holiday, and will definitely go back again .

Location

From the Owner

That's a great question. As I already said, I know Moraira for the last 35 years, so as you can imagine I know the whole area very well. That's the reason why it took me some time to buy my own property. I wanted to make sure that it was in the right place, and I finally found it. It is calm, comfortable and safe. I also wanted to make sure that the house was close enough to the beach, but at the same time I didn't want it to be very close to the village in order to avoid noises... And I found the perfect place. At the same time I didn't want to buy an old house as they usually have some problems even more when they are close to the beach. I wanted to buy a new and vert comfortable house for all the family, and that's what I did.

Moraira is a small coastal town, situated in the beautiful mountainous area of Marina Alta. It has an impressive marina, an excellent variety of local shops, open markets, harbour-side restaurants and bars, which still retain their Spanish character. The strict planning controls have left the valley of Moraira with no hint of towering hotels or apartment blocks.

The beautiful, luscious green countryside, dotted with whitewashed luxury villas and low rise 'pueblo-style' apartment complexes, amid pine woods, cultivated vine terraces and orange groves, make this an idyllic setting for those wanting total peace and privacy.

In Moraira, the orientation of the coast and position of the mountains around it permit a micro climate that guarantees an annual mean temperature of 18 degrees.

Other Activities: Relaxing

Golf: For those of you who spend their holidays or live in Calpe, Moraira, Teulada or Benissa, the golf club Lfach would be a good place to start golfing at the Costa Blanca.

As a 9 hole golf course, it offers a spectacular view over the coastline to the Penon de lfach in Calpe ( a huge impressive rock at the bay). With one putting green, it is one of the smaller courses around. Make sure you give it a try when you are around the area. You find the golf club at the round from Moraira to Calpe after about three km at the Urbanization of San Jaime.

Facilities

From the Owner

Well, I think I'm not the right person to talk about the 'unique benefits' of my property. I think it would be a good idea to take a look to the reviews written by the hosts who have rented the house in the past. They will tell you about all the unique things of the house... It is calm, clean, safe for children, it has beautiful views...
