3-bedroom modern villa in serene location amidst orchards, a mile from town

With dramatic, panoramic mountain views, in a peaceful, rural setting, Casa Vincente is a very private, 3-bedrooms - all air-conditioned, as is the living room. This is a modern, yet stylish villa with a large, private pool for the exclusive use of guests. Less than a mile to the centre of Orgiva, a lively market town, it stands, not overlooked, in 5 000 m2 of its own fenced orchard. Visitors can enjoy seasonal fruit. English language Sat. TV. Internet.

The depth of the tiled pool ranges from 1.20m to 1.80m. Particularly recommended for young families, as non-swimming small children enjoy playing on the wide steps leading into the shallow end of the pool, surrounded by a fence for extra safety. All windows have security grills and mosquito nets and all bedrooms and the living room have fans. Outside, al fresco meals can be enjoyed on a spacious terrace, sheltered from the sun, next to a de luxe barbecue.

The setting provides perfect tranquillity, the only sounds - birds and the tinkling of water, as the house stands some 100m along its own private road away from the country lane, and it has direct car/wheelchair access.

Activities: mountain and quad bikes hire, walking, horse riding and trekking, yoga courses, massage (Thai, shiatsu, etc.), painting classes, paragliding. Seasonal information will be provided on arrival.

This is a self-catering villa. We provide thorough cleaning before and after your stay (included in the price) and toilet paper and hand wash liquid on arrival. All bed linen and hand and bath towels included, but beach towels are not included. If you are arriving late and you want a hamper on arrival with some basic foodstuffs, the owner can arrange that, for a small charge.

Casa Vincente

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Casa Vincente. The villa was immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equiped. The living/dining room was fine, but as the weather was so good we hardly used it, spending most of our time in the pool or on the terrace The grounds were lovely, grass and flowers near the house, and citrus and olive trees on the perimeter. Juan, the friendly owner, was extremely helpful and obviously took great pride in the property. It's a 15 minute walk into Orgiva, which has several bars, restaurants (the Lemon Tree is nice) and supermarkets (none of which had fresh milk, only UHT). The white village of Pampaneira is definitely worth a visit, the restaurant above the main road had an excellent 8 euro 3 course menu. There is a strenuous 3.5 hour walk on the hills opposite the villa - details on a board in the parking area off the main road.

We had a fantastic 12 days at the end of September. Everything was faultless and Juan was a fantastic host - he could not have been more attentive. We would thoroughly recommend staying here for a relaxing, away from it all holiday. We took our watches off when we arrived and never put them back on till we left. There is enough to occupy yourselves in Orgiva. All in all, fabulous.

beautiful and tranquil holiday home

We were a family of 5 -3 girls aged 6-10 and we had a fantastic time here this summer. The garden, house and pool are in fantastic condition with a beautiful breeze blowing down from the mountains. Our days were spent by the pool with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the porch admiring the mountains. Juan despite no english and our little spanish was very warm and welcoming to his proud house. Orgiva as the other comments suggest isnt the most picturest village but perfect for shopping and some good restaurants. In summary we had a fantastic holiday and would have no hesitation in recomending casa vincente for a place to relax, watch the changing colour of mountains and admire the beautiful gardens, the good sized pool -all in all the perfect family getaway..

Hidden Paradise

The reviews and photos do not do this property justice. It is in a perfect location to relax and the villa has everything to make your stay enjoyable. We arrived not knowing what to expect from Orgiva as we had not visited this area before, but we need not have worried. The town is very welcoming and every person we met was friendly - none more so than Juan, the owner, who could not do enough for us! Casa Vincente is a great discovery and we would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a slice of real Spain. The property manager, Anda, is very helpful and will guide you through the booking process - we have already booked for next June!

Villa Vincente is a little paradise in the middle of Andalusia. The view is superb, but most of all, owner Juan is the most friendly and obliging person we ever met. Villa Vincente provides in all you need and if something shouldn't be available, Juan will fix it for you. Thanks to Juan for our unforgettable stay in Orgiva.

As good as all the reviews say!

There's not a great deal I can add to the rest of the reviews of the villa - it is a perfect place to have a lazy week - so perhaps I'll say a bit about Orgiva as that tends to get slightly more mixed reviews. The villa is about 15 minutes walk from the edge of the town - uphill it has to be said but at least it's downhill on the way back! It is certainly close enough to walk for a meal if you are moderately fit. Orgiva itself is certainly not a picture postcard village - no-one would describe it as pretty - but the places we went to eat and drink were unfailingly friendly, with good food and service and good value for money. Overall we liked it a lot - certainly not a tourist spot as such but very welcoming to visitors.

So in conclusion - a lovely villa near a pleasant town.

Órgiva is a bustling little market town with supermarkets, many bars, restaurants, health food shops and a Medical Centre, at the foothills of Sierra Nevada mountains (39 ski runs), at the heart of ‘real Spain’ with its fiesta spirit: Las Alpujarras – the cradle of flamenco, one of Europe´s most spectacular, peaceful and unspoilt areas under the starry skies.

Granada and the must-see Alhambra is 1hr away (50 km). The nearest seaside town is the picturesque Salobreña, 35km/27 miles away, with a Moorish castle on a towering rock. Drowning in flowers, with palm-lined avenues, Salobreña is as spectacular as it is still unspoilt by mass tourism, with beach restaurants, water sports and a 9-hole golf course.

30 min. away, the ancient Moorish ‘white pueblos' cling to the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains. In Bubion, visit the chocolate factory!

A paradise for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, artists.

Granada airport (Ryanair) 1hr. Malaga airport 1hr 45min; both also close by.

Other Activities: yoga, relaxation, Thai or shiatsu massage

Golf: The nearest golf course is the 9-hole Los Mariscos on the Playa Granada beach near Salobrena, where there is also a bar and a restaurant (30 km away).

Ski: There are few places in the world where you can ski in the morning then head to the coast for a swim in the afternoon, but the resort of Sierra Nevada at the altitude of 2 100m is one. There you can ski till the end of April, and the skiing is not second-rate, either.

20 lifts serve 100 km of piste and 39 runs. The weekends can get very busy with bottlenecks at the lifts. There is equipment hire. The pistes lend themselves to the intermediate but there is ample off-piste skiing for the advanced. Off the pistes, there are some good restaurants and lively bars.

After the skiing, head back for a swim in the pool under the starry skies. (1.5hr)
