This beautiful apartment is located in a quiet, area outside of downtown Freeport, Grand Bahama Island in the Bahamas. The spacious 2000 sq ft living area includes a large open plan kitchen-dining room, airy comfortable lounge, three bedrooms and one bath. All bedrooms have A/C and fans. The kitchen has all new appliances including a dishwasher, fridge, gas stove/oven and microwave. It opens onto a lovely screened patio with a dining furniture and BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.

The area is a very peaceful residential neighborhood with few neighbors and lots of woods. Bird song in the morning is exquisite. We are a mile and a half from beautiful beaches. This property is completely turnkey including cable, internet and all linens and towels.

A rental car is available on property, 2010 Nissan LaFesta (seats 6) with most reasonable rates on island. Drivers must be at least 25 years old. Perfect for winter residents, or anyone wishing to enjoy a beautiful island vacation.

Located in the outskirts of Freeport/Lucaya our apartment offers the perfect jumping off point to explore the eastern end of the island.
Freeport is home to many great activities - lots of beaches and water sports, nature/kayaking tours, golf, deep sea and bone fishing, horseback riding and lots of great restaurants and bars, casino, shopping and night life.

With three bedrooms and a large lounge this roomy apartment is ideal for families with children or one or two couples and winter residents coming for an extended stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge has a large video library.

Our house is the perfect getaway for those who want to be away from the usual touristy traffic - very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to hop in the car and be there in a short drive. Discovery Bay beach is just a five minute drive down the road. Plus, I am a massage therapist and I live right next door. How convenient is that?

Nothing in Grand Bahama is too far away. The rental car takes you wherever you want to go! It's the perfect affordable dream vacation island retreat!

Wonderful! Susan and Ricardo are the best hosts! They go out of their way to settle you in and make you feel comfortable. You can bet that their place will be the first one I will book for future vacations!

Excellent Facilities

Staying in the apartment was truly a home from home. Everything you could possibly need is provided, from phone, car, to plentiful towels, and starter pack. Our hosts, Susan and Ricardo also made us feel so welcome providing any information we needed. The apartment is enormous- so spacious and comfortable, having a porch and yard was so handy and fun! Banana Bay restaurant and beach are just minutes away by car, and Port Lucaya is also convenient. I would recommend the apartment as suitable for anyone and am talking to my girlfriends about a trip back without the family. Glorious Island and Fabulous apartment- what more do you need?!

Home away from home

I can't even begin to speak about how awesome our trip was! I am a descendant of Grand Bahama and went back home for our annual family reunion. We were tired of the regular hotel experience and wanted to be more relaxed and comfortable. I went with my two sons, my sister and her fiance, and there was more than enough room to accommodate all of us (the purple room is my favorite)! Out of habit, we went straight to the grocery store, to stock up on basic necessities and by the time we got to the rental unit, we discovered that everything we purchased was already there! There isn't anything that Ricardo & Susan hadn't thought of. My kids thoroughly enjoyed there DVD collection, and the pets were an excellent plus. Ricardo & Susan were very hospitable and they ensured that everything was fine throughout or stay. I can't wait to get back there, as this will definitely be our vacation home every year for our reunion trip!

Personal Touch Makes Grand Bahamas Memorable

We have rented several VRBO homes and apartments but we have never encountered an owner who was so helpful and attentive. Ricardo met us at the house and showed us around. He drove us to the airport on our last day. Ricardo let our kids (age 8, 7 and 2) feed their chickens, which they raise on their half of the backyard. Ricardo and his wife let us use their car, which was a very big help getting around Grand Bahamas Island. The car is old, but runs well. A lot of people we bumped into thought we were locals and I think it was because of the car. I know we got to see a lot more than other people we met who were shuttled from their resorts to their various destinations. The house is a duplex with owners (Ricardo and Susan) sharing the other side of the house. The house was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Very well equipped and comfortable for our family of five. Ricardo and Susan have a closet full of beach toys for use. The location is a little out of town and certainly not on a beach (if that's what you're looking for), but it easily accessible to the main town (Freeport), various beaches and other destinations with short drives that are usually less than 10 minutes. Certainly the house is very convenient to most beautiful beaches which are out on the West side of the island. The house has all the usual amenities, a nice collection of DVD's for viewing, WIFI, cable TV (if you want to spend time on those things), and of course air-conditioning. Susan was out of town the week we were there, so we didn't avail ourselves of them cooking a meal for us or one of Susan's therapeutic massages. Overall the house is clean and simple and inexpensive. It's a little out of the way but everything you might want to do in the Bahamas. The owners add personal touches and make you feel very welcome, which is what really makes trips and places memorable. Staying at Susan and Ricardo's place is a wonderful way to see Grand Bahamas island.
