Ideal for families and/or up to 6 people (and pets). Povlja is a charming little island village of stone houses clustered around a small bay surrounded by hills dotted with olive trees. Your accommodations are in an old stone house, one row back from the quay and conveniently located to all the village amenities - cafés, stores and of course, the beaches. The house has been completely updated for the demands of the modern traveler - and the owners!

Every guest will quickly find their favorite place and activity, be it peaceful walks through stone-walled olive groves or exploring the beautiful bays and inviting beaches and swimming areas. Start your day with coffee at one of the outdoor cafés while, if you must, checking your email via complimentary WiFi. Browse our tourist information to plan your activities on Brač - branded as the island of culture and adventure - should you ever want to leave the village. How about grilling some fish accompanied by a local wine as the day draws to a close? Did we mention the kayak?

The house is comfortably furnished in contemporary Scandinavian style, tastefully decorated and well-equipped with modern appliances (including air conditioning in every room). Cooks will especially appreciate the open plan kitchen and lounge area on the ground floor. All will enjoy being able to move around the three floors (water view from the top level). Check out our hidden wine cellar, newly opened for use. Relax with a book, board game or DVD in the top floor entertainment nook. Complimentary Netflix streaming as well.

Music - Bluetooth speakers are in every room. Some can go to the beach with you. And, one of the bedrooms on the second floor has two twin beds, electrically adjustable, with TEMPUR mattresses - you may never want to get out of bed!

The whole process was very straight forward... really helpful owner Tom, he answered all our questions promptly. The house is amazing and we had a really comfortable stay and it really is home from home. Beds are really comfortable and location fantastic. Thank you

Love this house!

Everything was perfect, the house had everything you could possibly need. From check in to check out the process was seemless. Tom always got back to me no matter what time I messaged him. I can't say enough about this charming house. We stayed 1 month in this house and I wish it were longer. If you are coming to Povlja you must stay here.

Wonderful Stay!

Our stay here was wonderful. The home was very clean and well versed. It was clear where you could go and where you couldn’t. There was enough room on every level to gather with the family. The water is very close by, you can basically walk to every where you would need to. The kitchen was great to cook in and everything was clean and easy to find. The houses decor and furnishings were beautiful. We had no words the first night we came to the house. The owners were available to answer questions at any point whenever we called. They were even kind enough to supply us with things to use on the beach. The rooms all are clean and spacious. Each equipped with air conditioning and comfortable beds. Overall our time was grate at the home. 5 out of 5 time there. Would definitely recommend this to any family looking for an incredible stay.

Britt and Tom bought their old stone house in Croatia in 2006 and have been busy renovating it ever since. When they are not on Brač, they are back home in Sweden, where they divide their time between Stockholm and a little stuga on the edge of a forest. Now both retired, they are keen gardeners and like to travel. Tom is from the States and Britt is Swedish.

Why they chose this property

The first time that we visited the village, we fell in love with it, the houses basking in the sun. It's easy to get to our village and once there, it's a short walk to almost everywhere. The house, well, it needed a lot of work although we first thought that a little plaster and paint could fix it up. We ended up with a new roof, new bathrooms, new kitchen, new floors, new windows, etc., etc. We did this for ourselves as you will see when you visit - it's not the typical rental property with one frying pan and a can opener in the drawer - it's our completely furnished house and you are welcome as our guests.

What makes this property unique

Unlike many Dalmatian properties where a house is converted into several apartments and you lose the flavor of the house, ours is a spacious single family dwelling on three levels and it even offers visitors a chance to experience our vaulted stone wine cellar located under the property. We preserved the original stonework and added modern updates and conveniences for year-round use. We've been told that it is one of the nicest homes in the village. Let us know what you think! New for 2022: Have a picnic in our olive grove, just outside the village!
